@sam and sajini, amazing write-ups.👏
I just hope this new entry will turn up like Natasha not ritwik. In ritwik's track, makers butchered leads to death in their own love story to make that XYZ guy hero. If they handle this story with maturity like Natasha's track then it will be treat to watch for sure.

@ Sam, Sajni, DQ

Lovely analysis all. I agree with almost everything you all are saying but somewhere something is jarring me. I try my best to understand Dev but somewhere fall short.

I know it is not easy to be brought up in constant submission, to have back breaking burden placed on young shoulders, to have sky high expectations imposed - the mental scars are never visible but are the worst. I actually understand and empathize with Dev's doggish obedience and need to keep Ishwari happy. I understand his knee jerk reactions. I never blamed him for dumping Sona the first time. A mother attempting suicide is not a small thing. Only, his manner of doing it was very wrong and behaviour after that worse.

After marriage also, it wasn't easy for him to get out of his mother's hold in a day. Even on the last day, if Bijoy had not insulted him so badly, his frame of mind would have been much better and rational. If Ishwari's taunts hurt Sonakshi, same was the effect of Bijoy's insults.

All this I understand. What I fail to understand is:

1. He knew his family ill treated his wife. Knew and Understood. He was too much cowed by his mother to retaliate is ok, but not understanding that Sona's patience could end one day, not believable.!! Sona didn't show how much she was hurt but would Dev have kept quiet if GKB talked to his sisters and mother in the same vein? Dev who could understand his mother's pain simply went deaf, dumb and blind when it came to the woman he loved! He didn't take an action on his own and also expected Sona to keep on forgiving continuously, to be a saint!

2. Even if I agree to the fact that Sona never complained and Dev has zero EQ, what stopped him from feeling bad on behalf of the woman he loved? He never felt hurt when Sona was insulted by his family. He never showed such attitude when it came to his mother.

3. He knew Sona's family had been thrown on the streets, the prenup had been signed. Could he for himself not realise how damaging these incidents were? Even if Sona had broken her eternal promise, why after becoming sober at least he did not take the trouble of informing Sona that the pre-nup had not been signed by him? He could at least try to pay her alimony or take care of her family which was on streets courtesy him?

And he insists that he is angry because Sona left him! Dev 2.0 has sufficient EQ. He is not the same dumb Mumma's boy anymore and has learnt the lessons life taught him very well. The child in him has grown up.

But then why is he angry at Sona? Being angry at himself and his family is justified but Sona? Or even after realising where he went wrong, he was still waiting for her to come back to him and forgive him of her own volition? Was this male ego, inability to face her or a test for Sona's love which she failed but then did Dev had any moral right to demand such a test when he himself failed her miserably?

I would sincerely appreciate if someone could clarify these points for me

Just saw the new entry, and I have no issues with more eye candy on the show. It looks like they are following S1 quite literally. Natasha made her entry not long after the accident! So do we get a lovelorn Dev who tries to keep it all inside because he doesn't feel like he deserves Sona/can't compromise his ego once Jatin is in the picture?

Every situation shown till now post leap has already made an appearance pre-leap. But the manner in which it is dealt with post-leap is different. Reason being that the characters have changed (except Ishwari). The characters have learnt in these seven years and appear to be more cautious to not repeat the same mistakes of the past. Bijoy doesn't mind if Sonakshi stays late, they don't wait for her on the dining table and to party. Sonakshi is managing her home and Suhana. Dev is not affected by anything related to Ishwari -except her health. He doesn't give in to emotional blackmail of Mamaji and is sarcastic to XGKB's retorts. In such a situation, I am keen to see him reacting differently when he meets Jatin or bumps into him. He should not give a damn, though what has been shown so far, it looks difficult. But, since he feels betrayed by Sonakshi, why bother about her personal life?

"I read in the forum about a new character being introduced in the show. If that's how it's going forward, I would like the Creatives to show Dev in a different light. The saying goes,"If you love someone fiercely, let go. If the person loves you back, he would come back to you, forever!" Dev should not start acting like the lover pre-leap who insulted Ritwik, ruined their dinner date etc. He should act like Ajay Devgn in Hum Dil...😃Sonakshi needs to reflect whether she still wants Dev to be a part of her life forever. The choice should entirely be hers. "

<font color="#333333" face="Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif">Look fw to see a matured Dev this time.</font>
I will really not be able to view a Dev who sabotages Jatin's business plans(like he did with Ritwik's loan) or acts like a jealous teen. Ek baar kafi hai.

How I had wished for matured talks... Sona letting off her steam of how she felt totally insulted/vulnerable/outcast at Dixit house, etc... and then Dev with whatever it is(honestly I still dont understand what he expected of Sona after he insulted her so badly... but theek hai jo bhi hai wo bole)

Although the new guy is quite easy on the eyes. i wouldn't mind him around Sona.
Hope Dev will not comment on Sona's character again.

Thanks. Sonakshi is independent with a mind of her own. With success in her business, she is likely to meet and also have male friends. It's a part and parcel of life. I don't want Dev to follow her like a puppy. I don't want him to show how much he yearns for her. She is beautiful, smart and a single mother. Let her draw comparisons between Dev and other men. Let her choose. Dev has to let her go- completely. To find his own life. To be a good father to Suhana. That would be 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi'. Sonakshi could find happiness w/out any man in her life too. Or it would be a wake up call that Dev is and would always be the 'only man' in her life and she cannot love anyone, the way she loved Dev. 😃

There is a movie called 'Arth' which fetched Shabana Azmi a National award, for a portrayal of a woman whose husband leaves her for another woman and is scarred. Though Raj Kiran played a character who falls in love with her, the film ends on a positive note of Azmi finding a reason to live life on her own terms.

Let's leave this to the Creatives.

@Sam what a beautiful take on Devakshi n their promises n their unwarranted fears of their respective families...which paved way to their separation...
No words on how this pride n responsibilities on one shoulder damages one's soul... ask me about it... when you are overburdened to satisfy your family.. it is not easy...

@ Rekha... yes, we need to give Sona the space this time.. and no pressure from Dev.. or Jatin.. or her family... let she and soha decide... "True love comes back to you no matter what"
i love the way you explained this... ya i remember the movie faintly...

The new character's entry is nothing but the deja vu of first season . If you observe it is complete role reversal. That what I think and at the end of this track sona will understand that dev is the only mam she can love. like dev understands his love for sona.
