Interrupting Sona every time she tried to speak. Trying to make her feel small, inferior. Trying to assuage his male ego by insinuating how he hasn't become a businessman by fluke or guesswork, indirectly deriding Sona for her "accidental achievement." Like Sona belonged to the "startup club" whereas he belonged to the elite "established businessmen" club.
He must be the world's first entrepreneur who has openly dared to risk his image and reputation by belting out such outrageous behavior towards a woman, his ex-wife (no less), in full public view. And that the reporters were still inching to grab bytes thrown by him and instead of slamming him for being such a disrespectful prick with an attitude problem is nothing short of a miracle. (No wait, we had Trump who openly called Hillary Clinton a "nasty woman" during the presidential debate last year and STILL got elected. So yeah, this is the world we live in😡)
The sly, cheeky smile while holding the trophy close to him, while in the car...as if he was satisfied with the act he put out there, like he was glad he could embarrass and shake Sona up a bit.
The deliberate flinging of the trophy as soon as Sona and his eyes locked (after they got out of their respective cars), as if he wanted to prove to Sona even that damn trophy, that was supposedly to be given to her, didn't mean a thing to him.
Up in front of their respective suites, the obvious, extravagant "loverboy" gestures Dev made towards his "girlfriend"...knowing she was watching him.
The only place where he went wrong was in deluding himself that she was getting affected by it all. Sad na, but then when we pine for someone so deeply and try so hard to make them jealous, we assume they are experiencing as much of a heartburn as we did.😕
As expected, once he went inside the hotel room, he jerked his "girlfriend's" hand away, suddenly clammed up and got distant, made himself a peg, lost all that sheen and shine in his eyes, and for those few seconds where he was sullen, gloomy and possibly heartbroken, were the only moments he was himself. Sober. Contemplative.
In stark contrast, we had Sona, who did try to register the shock for a few seconds, but then was back to normal again. Her focus was on the present. She cheered up as soon spoke with her sleepy-eyed daughter. Of course she didnt expect to see Dev behave this way. But to say she felt the exact same thing Dev did today, would be a stretch.
Sona clearly has moved on, it seems. I am so proud of how she handled herself. Classy, dignified, no theatrics. This is something young girls in this generation and even older women need to learn.
Like I said somewhere earlier, she does not like mind games and will not be a party to Dev's series of mind games either. Which is why, when minutes later, Dev sent her back the trophy in a glossy red box with a note, that he simply wanted to ruin her big moment that evening and in reality, has no use for the trophy; she sent it right back to him.
For her, the award meant nothing when it came to her self-respect, especially when it came to Dev and his dubious ways.
Loved the conversation between Soha and Sona...Soha really does understand her mom...quite a mature child, I must say.
If Sona were to see more of Dev's Casanova ways, I doubt she would let that "you-can-meet-your-Papa" clause remain active for Soha. She surely wouldn't want her child to see what an absolute mess her dad is.
Dev, oh my god. I can't believe he has gone on to have casual flings with women he clearly does not see a future with. No, I don't judge people who do the same, it's their life, their choice. But for Chrissake, you don't convert an ultra- sanskaari, one-woman man into a Casanova just like that.
I mean, its so hard to digest this characterization.😕😕
Yeh sahi hai. Blame your ex-wife. Make yourself the victim and go have flings with women. Wonderful progress report to present to your ex-wife when you meet her after 7 yrs.
On the other hand, Sona took responsibility for all her mistakes. Strengthened herself. Made up her mind and set to work. She was not going to let this ONE MAN beat her down in life. No, she was going to come out of this alive, and triumphant.
And to be honest, I am so so glad she does not have a man loitering in her life. It shows her incredible focus, and her ability to be happy and content with herself. Yeah, maybe she didnt meet a man worth her time in all these years, which is why she is single. Or maybe she was not interested or busy or whatever. But the fact is, she survived that phase all by herself, no man, no sahare ka kandha and all, but her solid supportive parents who knew when to pitch in and when to back out.
She will, in the coming few days, without doing a single thing, prove to Dev that she is, was and will always be self-sufficient and she didnt need these crazy, cheap-type distractions to spice up her life. She has enough going in her life and nothing her silly ex-husband does is going to rile her up.
Abhi toh Sona ne kuch kiya bhi nai aur Dev ka yeh haal hai. What will happen if Sona were to be seen with a man/men?
Oh, and its not like she didnt fulfill her zimmedariyas. Being a single mom and bringing up her kid right, getting back her parents' house, setting up her business, she has done sooo much in these 7 yrs!!👏
I am not sure why CVs chose to make Dev this way post-leap, but do they realize, Devakshi now have a kid b/w them and it would be so unfair to bring that little child in this mess. What kind of example is Dev going to set? Which sane mother would want her daughter to be associated with this kinda man? Jo khulle mein yeh sab kar raha hai. Kya jawab degi woh apni beti ko, now that Soha has started asking all those pesky qs!
What, he will dump that casual gf and change himself into accha pita overnight, for Soha??? And would it be fair to that woman who clearly stated she doesn't want a casual relationship?
And what was with the way Dev was standing in the elevator. Why that loafer wala style of standing? 😲 My impression of him is so so ruined!!
And Ishwari thinks all of this is happening coz of Sona. Wow. Kaunse duniya mein jee rahi hai? With all the stories she has conjured in her head regarding Sona, she will turn into a mental patient soon.
Even now when Ish and Dev are so distant, they are bonded by one common thing - their misplaced anger on Sona.
Dev has told his casual gf ki "Sona ne uska dil toda"?? Like, really???😕
Dunno why, but when I was watching the show today, it suddenly reminded me of Sandhir from Sadda Haq. The male lead, Randhir, in that show, was always full of so much hate and angst. It was like his life's mission to ruin the girl's life in whichever way he could. They were in the same profession, and of course, competitors. The girl was definitely a notch smarter than the guy...and this would repeatedly be a big blow to the guy who wasn't used to women being ambitious and successful.
So he would mistreat his gf in countless ways possible. Professionally. Personally. And that, would be hailed as romantic and passionate love by so-called fans. Uss ladke mein bhi aisa hi pagalpan tha (10 times as much, actually) and he has these crazy ways of "expressing his love" to his woman.
And I would be aghast. Ki, itna torture karte ho kisiko, and even then you expect that the person should understand you, stand by you, read your mind, predict your behavior. Why do you want to date a human being dude? Go date a machine😡 jismein saari programming pehle se hi kar rakhi hogi.
So today, as I watched the show again late at night, I saw the credits. Same producers from the other show - Yash Patnaik, same writer- Durjoy Datta. And I realized - THERE GOES.
Male lead has to be a tortured soul, twisted, nasty, revengeful and ask for and expect multiple chances from the woman he supposedly loves.
On SP, there was a show called "Veera"...usmein bhi male lead aisa hi ajeeb tha.
How the heck do ppl find it romantic? I mean, itne tension mein do log chain se kab jeete hain bhai???? Pyaar kaise survive karta hai in "ideal" conditions mein???
This narrative needs to change, that women (being sensitive and intuitive) should just catch on to their man's motives, thoughts, intentions despite the fact this his actions run contrary to the same. We should just lap it when they make those tall claims, and not back it up with ONE SINGLE MOVE.
That it's romantic to beg and plead for your beloved to give you a chance because you are consumed with jealousy and can't see them with anybody else, even though you didn't do a thing to save your relationship.
That it's intense to see the girl's chances at happiness (personal and professional) getting ruined because the boy neither wants to let her live in peace nor allow anybody else to bring in some cheer in her life.
That if you somehow downplay her achievements, act cocky, trouble her, then you deep down actually still love her. And that idiotic attitude of yours will actually make you seem more attractive to her.🥱
Disgusting. Am so pissed😡
To all of Dev's nautanki, Sona had one smart solution - in tomorrow's epi, she calls the police because drunk and disoriented, Dev kept banging on her door, screaming his lungs out, creating a scene.
You could see - she is so DONE with him. And I am going to be so glad if she just doesn't bother with him any more. Dekhna chahti hun, what more will Dev do to get her attention? But no matter what, he doesn't deserve to bring Soha in the muck. And if he tries to get at Sona through Soha, then I would want Sona to unleash that fiery woman within her and beat Dev at his own tardy games.
Turns out as of now, between fire and ice, ice certainly trumped by a mile and more.
P.S. I really like the fact that Asha trusts Sona so much. Isn't over-protective (unlike Bijoy) and wants to give her daughter the space to deal with things in her own way, in her space.
Loved it even more that she and Bijoy have such a wonderful relationship. As a father, he does act impulsively at times. But then, at the end of the day, he realizes he has raised Sona to be an independent, strong woman and he would, right now, just have to trust her to deal with it.
And she will.
What a contrast. Ishwari prefers blaming Sona over and over again for Dev's condition and her present equation with her son. "Is mein Dev ki koi galti nai hai" she says. Neither is it her fault, nor is it Dev's..only if they could get together and bitch about Sona and blame her for all the mess, then they'd bond again like before naeen??😡😡
Aur yahan pe, Sona's parents know where they faulted, know where Sona faulted, but are allowing her to make those mistakes, own up to it, learn from it, and heal herself in her own time. No third party is being blamed.
That is the single most important clue to people who believe they are the architect of their own fate.👏
