When I saw that smirk on Dev's face, it felt like he wants to do something that would spoil Sona's award function or atleast show off his 'Casanova' image which will also be witnessed by his daughter who really doesnt know much about him. So that will not only be recorded by the media, but will also be seen by Soha herself. So her first impression of him would likely be not of the good person and hence will also try to stay away from his. Which I also believe will be taken negatively by Dixits and will taunt Sona on

1) Keeping Soha away from them

2) Filling her ears against them and manipulating her (Which Sona never does and Dixits are of course famous for)
