The story is moving the cliche way with Dev flirting, Sona jealous yadda yadda. About Dev not knowing his child it can be viewed two ways. One Sona wanted to wait for her to get financial strength if she had to fight Dev for custody..which he might of going by his track record or just for drama sake and I think it is also going ti happen now and then the judge will order they have to remain together all that stuff before she gives judgement...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it wrong morally to not let a child know his or her dad absolutely but when you are a single parent and if you have a bitter separation like how she had with Dev our first instinct would be to protect the child and that is what I think happened here..it is a basic basic instinct of a mother to protect ones offspring

Agreed. But then even in real life, most fights between couples especially those which end in bitter separations are highly subjective in nature ( and it's highly improbable to keep the kid a secret like it happens in these daily soaps😆). It depends on your perception of things and in most cases, one partner is convinced they have been wronged by the other. The husband is probably convinced the wife is a terrible human and makes for a bad mother and vice versa. So I really wish couples have the maturity to keep the kids away from all this and tried to be empathetic about the other partner's rights in respect of the kid. I'd say the same if Dev tried to keep the baby away from Sona. Even if he attempts to do that in future out of hurt, I'd still call it insensitive. Cos you guys might have a million issues but don't involve the kid in this. I know am being too idealistic but it's one thing am quite sensitive about which is probably why I go on and on about it. About how both parents have equal rights and everyone deserves to have a choice in so far as their kids are concerned.
P.S. The fact that Bijoy and probably even Sona only gave the kid the choice and din bother about Dev's choice in respect of the kid after all these years is probably what bothered me. Weirdly reminded me of Ishwari 😆

I don't know future plot. But Dev's parenting style seems to stem from Ishwari. So I won't be surprised if your predictions come true.

But looks like same what i expected...

I have bad feeling there will be a scene where deserving soha wont get recognition while golu will get with chachu tactics i mean in school competion... although this will happen until dev knows soha is his daughter...

If I have to guess, Dev doesn't want any more responsibilities. Owning a business is like owning a family. People rely on the owner for their livelihood. So an owner needs to have his/her act together and make his business a success. I think Dev is tired of working hard and getting nothing. He has enough money now so he doesn't need to work. His family has got money, so they have nothing to complain about.

Now I think he just wants to live a carefree life. I understand that sentiment. But I might be wrong.

Lovely post Tia...what ever Dev tries to show off during the award function...the trump card is with Sona ...that is their daughter !! Her greatest achievement and today loyalty was proven by the lil one !!

I do have a doubt , any idea why he was selling his shares and shutting down the trading for his company? And he tells Vicky that you enjoy your share let me do what I want to do with mine...but why would he do that ??

@tia-1. In a custody battle, both the parties know what they are fighting for and its fair game atleast legally if one of them win and the other is forced to relinquish his/her rights over the child..That is totally different from one parent being kept in the dark and not even informed about the existence of a child..
2. Even if a couple have a nasty divorce or a bitter separation, it doesn't change the fact that if they have a baby, both have equal rights over it (unless they fight for custody)..
3. Giving a 6 year old a choice to choose between a mother who has brought her up all her life v. a father she has zilch idea about and has never met all her life is not the same as giving a father the right/choice to know he has a kid..
4. Its a soap and misunderstandings will eventually be cleared but whats lost cannot be reversed is all am saying..And the fact that they probably intend to keep the father in the dark all his life, given a choice (am sure Bijoy atleast intends that) is what makes me extremely uncomfortable..Cos its unfair to the kid as well as the father..

I guess I'l stop with this..I don't even like Dev (or any character for that matter) so all the more reason for me to stop debating on this..We can agree to disagree 😆

I am not refuting your point . And you are not idealistic in your views. Even between a fight between me and my husband I dont like if children are made to take sides on who is wrong and who is right because the fight is only between me and my husband and this too can be viewed like that but in reality this was a very bitter fight and they had a signed legal document stating that Dev need not support his child so in this case I wouldnt have thought that Sona can behave any different..considering that I am surprised she is even saying Soha can interact with her father I have seem bitter divorces where the children lose a parent.

Here I agree about Bijoy's interference the decision is only between Sona and Dev because Soha is not old enough I think legally not sure of the legalities

Again this is fiction and they will show drama for drama sake anyway

Agree with you on your points. However, by signing the pre-nup Dev did relinquish his rights on any future kids from the said marriage as well as denies any right of his children in the event of divorce. That was the clause Bijoy was so upset over, remember? Sonakshi doesn't know that the sign was taken by fraud.

But I agree. Let's agree to disagree. I am sure everything will become clear in the end. 😊

Dev just sold of a small part of his company - The trading company !!!

When he told Vicky "Teri company toh hai na worth 500 crores" that was pun intended.

He made Vicky sit on his chair and said that dialogue. He knows very well that Vicky wants to be in his place and own that company.

So he just told him that Ishwari Communications is still worth 500 crores and "woh teri company hai" ..

Vicky was very upset to hear that because he knows that Dev was just teasing him and he knows that he is nothing but an employee in the company whom Dev can throw out anytime. Dev also threatened him with the dialogue "do mahine ki salary as bonus" :)

I don't think Dev is a fool to give Vicky his company worth 500 crores and if he would have, they would all be on streets by now.

Dev is still the owner and Vicky is still just an employee.

I am watching the leap episodes just to see how low they can fall. Personally, pre-leap they butchered all characters but I do see them going the usual tropes post-leap too.
I concur with RogerRocks- the whole "not telling the father about the kid" is a desi tried and tested formula..this acts as a balancer for the sins committed by both parties.

A- When you use a trope like infertility for a female lead, it is ridiculous how they miraculously show a kid just like that. Ultimately, this is what the story, woman comes down to- the kid.

B)- Sonakshi was a PhD , a dietician . Now I don't mean to say she cannot turn into a businesswoman but this is beyond stupid that she had to reflect Dev's perception or her take on it and become a "successful businesswoman" . But desi tv.This woman was qualified and could earn a living without goin through the cliches.

C- For all it's worth. Sonakshi as a woman, wife went through hell. She should never go back to Dev but coz this is serial, she will. Which is precisely why I feel, Dev should have known about the kid or was informed. If Sonakshi wanted to fight completely parental rights, she should have. Dev could have been a shitty husband , man but a father? That right has been taken away from BOTH Dev and the child. A , 6-7 year old might not understand this but if this would have continued ..wonder what would have happened.
Sonakshi could have cut it all away but gave her child the experience of being with a dad during those formative years. Unless, the guy was abusive to your child and unless he was hindering her from separating, I don't see why this fact was not shared.

At this point this question and freedom of choice to a 6-7 year older seems to be an emotional trope.

This is a tv show, in the end, this is a start to a new HEA for the 3 but it makes it really manipulative of both the leads. Sigh..will give up in few days when Sona and Dev's story re-starts. Meh.

Good one Tia.
I am seriously loving each episode of the season-2.
I had not expected it'll be this good.

Hope to see Dev attending the award function as a Casanova. And Sona giving her thank you speech.

Whatever is in store for future, I do not know. But one thing I can say is even if Suhana ends up with the Dixits due to some reason or the other, she will always be this way, as Sonakshi has brought her up. Her upbringing will teach Dev-Ish some good lessons that in itself will always be Sona's achievement.

Genie, you said it better than I managed to in multiple posts 😆 I have never understood desi tv's fascination with keeping one parent in the dark about the birth of a child..Its just wrong on so many levels..Especially when you consider the fact that they usually separate over a misunderstanding and eventually reconcile after a few fights 😆 And you are bang on about Indian TV's obsessive need to get their female leads pregnant..Its like they vouch for the perception that a woman is incomplete without giving birth to a child..The first time I was this disappointed was when they got Ishita pregnant in YHM and then the subsequent surrogacy track where they ultimately butchered the entire concept of the show..So am not really surprised they got Sonakshi pregnant..Cos how can a female lead on Indian TV not have a child of her own? Blasphemy 😆 Oh and business is the easiest thing to do on Indian TV..Everyone is a successful businessman/woman..Gul's leads never go to office yet they are business magnets..Ishita despite being a dentist by profession is a better businesswoman than Raman..And now Sonakshi and probably Vicky too 😆 Why cant a dentist/nutritionist be successful? Do they all have to be businesswoman? I think I chose the wrong profession 😆
