You are absolutely correct. Love without honour, respect and dignity is called Lust, not love.
Everyone loves and respects their parents. But I have never seen someone who let's his mother insult the family whom he was claiming as his own just minutes before. Not to mention Ishwari claims that son and son-in-law are not same and Dev remained silent. This is the guy who moments ago claiming he is Asha's son. Where did that son go?
If Radha insults his mother will he keep silent? No. But when his mother insults a family who gave him love and respect without ever asking for anything from him, then where is his voice?
I wanted Sona to tell Dev about Saurabh. But I think she should never say anything about her family to Dev. Why should she? You take help from your children. But son and son-in-law are not the same as per Dixits. Since Dev stayed silent, I am assuming he also believes that.
If Dev insists on doing anything for her family and Ishwari finds out, then who knows she might insult Sona's family's self-respect. After all Bose won't be able to claim then that they took help from their son.
And Sona? She remained silent. Not once she opened her mouth to say that this is her father's home and here his rule works. So if Dev had problem with how her father handled their fight, he could have got home or a hotel. He is not a child. So whatever Ishwari wants to say, she can say it to her son, not to her father.
Would she like it if Bijoy comes to Dixit home to give her lecture on parenting?
But we are expecting character growth. Forget growth, they are degrading.

Haven't watched the episode yet, but reading your excellent analysis it seems Dev's remote works only inside the bedroom (wasn't any different before) and goes on mute outside the room. Oh sorry I forgot he respects his mom so much that he lets everyone keep getting insulted by her and also allows his relatives insult his oh so dear love of life Sonakshi. Wow what a way to show his respect to his God mom. Kya pyaar hai. Sachhi "Kuch rang pyaar ke aise bhi". Apni biwi ki roz insult karwao, isiko to asli pyaar kehtey hain.
Definitely Dev's character has grown, but for worse. 😡 Or lets say he has been like this since the beginning. "Glad cv's are keeping the character's intact oh wait we were expecting a character growth for better, who said that again...!!!
Sad Sonakshi's character has taken a full 180 o turn after she fell in love with Dev. She gives zero respect to her parents. She is turning into another Dixit. Kehte hain na, aadmi achhi batein sikhne main bhaley hi waqt lagaye, par buri aadatyein seekhaney mein jara sa bhi waqt nahin lagata. Proof is Sonakshi.
Love and romance without dignity means absolutely nothing.
