Choices & Responsibilities!!!

In my opinion, there are two forces that shape our lives - Fates or Destiny and our own Choices...

We have no control over Fate or Destiny. It will play as it is intend to play...

But we can control our choices. Those are our tool to shape the path of our life.

However, there's a catch. Choices are not free. The price of choice is responsibility.

When someone else makes choices on our behalf, they pay the price of responsibility. They are accountable for the result - whether that's kudos or blame. Just like Ishwari has to listen silently every accusation Neha throws at her.

But when we make choices, we have to take the kudos or blame ourselves. We can no longer blame others for the choices we made.

Today's episode was based on exactly this concept.

However neither Dev nor Ishwari nor Neha understand this concept.

When I was young, my mother had told me a story which she read somewhere.

An angel was looking down from heaven when he noticed that human beings are walking with one bag hanging in the front and the other hanging in their back. But no one is noticing those bags that they are carrying around.

The angel asked God: My lord, what's in those bags that they are carrying around?

God answered: When I created humans, I gave them two bags. One will have someone else's fault and the other will have their own fault in every choice of life. Human being wore them as per their nature. The one in the front is other people's fault which they can always see, judge and pass blame on. They hanged it in front so that they can access it easily...

The one on the back is their own fault which they never want to see. They hanged it in the back because, well, they never feel the need to access it.

Today Ranveer and Dev's conversation was a lesson in this particular aspect of human nature.

1. Dev accused Ranveer for having ego and not accepting whatever decision Neha made about their life.

He once accused Sona for having ego too for not accepting whatever decision Dev made about theirs.

2. Ranveer reminded Dev that Neha wanted the divorce. He tried to fix their relationship by calling him. But Neha took the decision to leave him even though she knew how it is before she married him.

Sona reminded Dev that he approved of her decision about Vicky. She tried to help his company by giving a logical suggestion. But he took the decision leaving her behind claiming Sona knew how it was with his mother before she married him.

3. Ranveer claimed that Dev never looked at Ranveer as anyone but Neha's husband.

Sona claimed that Ishwari never looked at Sona as anyone but Dev's wife.

4. Dev tried to give Ranveer the apartment and said that the "Dixits" will forget everything if he just moves into the apartment with Neha.

I wonder what he would have said if Ranveer returned the key to him and said that he will forget his ego, if Dev moves into the same apartment with Sona?

I guess Dev's speech will stop completely.

Moving on to Sona's effort to cheer up husband by scooty ride.

That girl is a gem of a person, by the way.

Sona asks about Dev's talk with Ranveer.

- Dev was upset that Ranveer was not willing to be, how shall I put it better, Sona, since Neha is obviously Dev.

- Dev complained to Sona that Ranveer did absolutely no sacrifice. All sacrifice were done by Neha. But now his precious sister will do no sacrifice. She needs her family.

I was wondering what sacrifices Dev made when it comes to his and Sona's relationship? So far all sacrifices were done by Sona. So does the same rule apply to Sona and from now on she won't have to sacrifice anything?

Both Dev and Ishwari claimed that they know Neha better. Sona, being the outsider like Ranveer should just stay out of their inner circle.

But may be had they not been so wrapped in their ego, they would have heard Neha's unspoken words like Sona did.

Dev is willing to be with Sona even if she hadn't bathed for 15 days. But not if she treats his family like her own and tries to help.

Neha was willing to marry Ranveer even if he took every decision on his own like Dev, but not if he treats his family and his wife like Dev.

Dev and Neha both want to call the shots even though they love the person they are with.

Sona and Ranveer just wanted to be with the person they love.

However, Ranveer is not willing to bend his self-respect for love, because after all it is important for a man. As a result his marriage is in divorce court.

And Sona is willing to forget hers and that's why her marriage is still working.

If Ranveer had behaved like Sona, his marriage would have survived.

Had Sona behaved like Ranveer, her marriage would also have been in divorce court.

It's not about gender anymore. It's about choices people make which neither Dixits - be it Dev, Ishwari or Neha, is willing to take responsibilities for and continue to turn blind eye to their own fault just like my little story on human nature...

When dev was mouthing his dialogues to ranveer , i was like wait i have seen this situation before😆😆😆
So much of irony.

There is imbalance in dev sona relationship 😕

What pissed me off is Sona telling dev and ishwari regarding her job with so much guilt and fear.

I mean where that sona went who loved her job passionately

Yep. Like I said, Dev wanted Ranveer to be like Sona so that Neha's marriage survived like his...

Unfortunately, Sona was like Ranveer before marriage. She turned into this meek, no self-respect version of herself, just so she could make her marriage work and keep her senses blocked with just romantic times with Dev, so that she can't hear her own self.

I must say, it's working just fine and dandy so far. See how many times Dev appreciates Sona now. He didn't appreciate her when she stood up for her self-respect because that means he has to be like the person he expects Ranveer to be...

And neither Dev nor Neha wants to turn into this imaginary Ranveer or Sona after marriage.

Excellent post. It's basically an attitude problem which the Dixits suffer from. Their life is full of negativity as they refuse to dwell upon anything else. Whenever they look back in life they only see and remember pain. Good things and times they gloss over. Even if one would ask Ishwari, Dev or Neha 20 years hence, how their life till date has been, they would still lament about the 10-15 early years spent in abject poverty and cry.
Dev is trying to come out of this mindset with the help of Sonakshi but Ishwari is not allowing him to.

This constant self pitying attitude of the Dixits has created in them a sense of entitlement as if the entire world owes it to them for all the pain they have gone through. After all they are the only people in the world who have 'suffered.'

Exactly. Dev, Neha and Ishwari have a sense of entitlement as if in exchange of their hard times, the universe owes them happiness. They no longer have to work for or work with others for their own happiness.

But Sona and Ranveer don't owe them anything beyond empathy for their past life. They are not obligated to forego their wish, their own happiness, so that from now until eternity Ishwari, Dev and Neha can have their cake and eat it too.

Karma carries a balance scale. Life doesn't.

Karma pays back its due in full. But life only helps as far as you are willing to help yourself or you have to suffer the consequences and bear responsibilities for your choices and actions.

And the Dixits' get away with everything because they are not throwing their weight of being RICH here.. Because they have a sad story behind it all..
Ishwari should be understood and not accused because her flashbacks justifies for whatever actions she's forced to do by the circumstances with no choice of hers...😉

Dev should be empathized with for whatever approach he takes in handling his family members because he has had a bad past and he's justified as he has no choice in any of his actions..😉

Neha should be showered with sympathy and praises for whatever tantrums she throws because she's been put through all this trauma with no choice of hers..😉

Dixits have a tissue of excuses for all tears of issue...

The world revolves around their currently richie rich (former poverty-stricken) selves and when they can't solve something with money, they try to solve them by excuses from the past.

They use their rich persona or poor persona as per circumstances.

Throw money to get honey or one mention of the past, doesn't make any complaint last...

WOW Tia, this is one of the best posts of yours!!⭐️

The story is just amazing! I would like to share it with my kids 😊...Its actually for everyone...

The parallels you drew between all the 4 is so apt...

Dev needs to know that what he is doing for his family is what Ranveer is doing for his family...only difference is RV's mom didnt seem to be like Ish...As far as she was shown, she was very clear and open to give the required space for the newly weds(there were some glitches initially like the SR night where kids barged in)

Sona, how I wish her to be before marriage self and point it out...where is the girl who was so offended when Dev got her new cellphone? I just hope that what was shown in precap doesnt effect her decision to join work...why are you so laid back in regards to joining back?

Thanks for the beautiful post!
