True Ish excels at deception and lies and if anyone realises her faults, Ish has a reason that she is doing it for her family.
The epi reminded of my first cook at inlaws place..prepared halwa. My MIL was nervous and helped me n when later I got the compliments and neg, I told everyone I haven't made it all on my own. See even I can't rest if I don't share the complete truth. Maybe even Sona will blurt out the truth..its tough to accept compliments if you know you don't deserve it. I can understand Ish nervousness to please her relatives but she should have either told the truth Sona can't cook but she is ready to try or help Sona by giving her recipe and instructions. But Ish being Ish, wud lie and later to cover up she would blame Sona n her upbringing. Or if everything goes well, will make sure Dev gets to know about so that he can sing more hymns for his god.

Worst part was Ish had returned the entire shagun but when Sourav came to return just 1 piece of shagun, he had to hear so much from everybody. Bijoy was right - dogle log hain . Both Sona and Dev shud get to know that Ish has returned entire shagun back to Bose family. I would be disappointed if Sona and Dev doesn't discuss this.

I liked Wednesday's episode. There is no kitchen politics there. That's a small problem. Sona will be caught, taunted.. she will do some sensible talking and things will move on
What today's episode gave us was strong material for sona's future thoughts that Ishwari is unwell and needs help where it comes to Dev

And of course some more devakshi arguments are brewing already

Why do I think a second separation track is coming soon. Where sona will go back to her mayka and yet again a passionate Dev will beg her to come back

@bold: I personally don't want that to happen. Marriage should be taken seriously. It's not a game. Even Sonakshi needs to know that not everyone in the world is like her family members. Outspoken and easy to deal with. Most people are like Ishwari jiske "khaane k daat alag hain, aur dikhane of alag". With all good things come worst too... I want her to fight with good spirit. Many a times, tit for tat should be used.
I want her to give Ishwari " a joor ka zatka, dheerese lage" fight.

E for excellent analysis Tia.
Lies and deceit is all Ishwari knows it seems. She is such a master in all her games that she always comes out winning. If her intention was to really help Sona then she would have helped Sona cook and instructed her rather than taking over. That would have shown Dadi Bua that Sona is willing to try.How can any person who has never cooked before prepare so many dishes with ease and perfection the first time? So basically in this, Iswari:
1. Comes out as the sweetest MIL with a heart of pure gold.
2. The poor and compromising soul who got a lying DIL who knows nothing about running a house cos as per her and DB cooking and pallu and are the sole criteria for that. All sympathies from DB cos DB's definition of good bahu= meek, obedient girl with a tape on her mouth and a lock on her brain.
3.She gets what she wants from DevMaa =God And so the God is pleased.

And Ishwari might have said that Sona could cook in future any way she knows and wants for Dev but she will be the first to stop her."Mere hardworking pyaare Dev ko aisa khaana khilaogi?Abhi uski maa hai uska dhyaan rakhne ke liye.Go toy, stay inside the room for Dev to play with. "

If the fainting time Dev jaap was not enough, the kitchen jaap should make Sona realise the extent of unhealthy obsession Ishwari has for Dev.Sona should realise that there is no need for her to portray herself as someone she is not.The lies are only going to invite trouble and more insults.

As for shagun-Ishwari can so easily twist the cultures and definitions to suit her, can't she?Double standards.🤢Her revenge is certainly more deadly.

Agree. 😳 And like you said, this whole thing would just be like Halwa incident where Ishwari was SO innocent, and Sona was insulted 😳 Again Dev would go gaga over Ishwari for helping Sona 😆

The only problem is, if Ishwari were like any other regular MIL, not an issue. But she has this uncontrollable habit of lying and deceit which is going to create problem for Sona. For good or for bad, a lie is always a lie and she does it all the time. People must 'try' to avoid lying as much as possible . I just hope that like yesterday, Sona again defends herself saying it's not a big deal that she can't cook Rasam hoga 80 yrs pehle that newly wedded bride should spend her entire first day in kitchen, who cares now people hardly get leaves on their own wedding (working women). What is this shame of admitting that one doesn't know something ? It's not like a criminal offense ! 😕 People do stupid things to avoid small problems only to invite a much bigger problem from the same issue. Sona is gonna get trapped for her lies. She should stick to her own instinct and habits and should ignore Ishwari's suggestions like these. I myself learnt it hard way in my life and now I dont care to admit in front of whoever that I still can't cook what can I do 😆 But hiding stuffs like this creates a spider-web in which one day the creator itself gets stuck😕

This DB is really annoying. She is thinking about Sona's Bahu Who told her that Sona would have a boy ? Nonsense ! 🥱 I never knew Ishwari had such close relatives all of a sudden who didn't bother to attend Neha's wedding to suffocate her with rituals ? 😕

And I'm not even inclined to think that Ishu is doing all this intentionally to show Sona in bad light... She might not even be the evil one to plan and plot to use this against Sona... But whatever she's doing is all coming out of her control freak attitude where she wants things her way... And on that path, all she can see is - herself and Dev... Anything, literally anything to throw away or pick up to keep this image unaffected... If there is a tradition to follow in her community then Ish has her own tradition created for herself and Dev... So everyone literally everyone should follow and obey to that tradition... Sona is no exception... If Ish has worked upon things to get Dev reach the mountain top, then everyone related to him should pick up the same things to keep him there.. no matter what... There can't be other ways around it... She can't allow anyone to play with it by making mistakes to learn through their ways...

Even if this lying and deceiving not coming out in open, what value does it add to Sona's inner conscience?! Will she be happy about it or feel inferior about it? If she's not able to come in terms with what she has done to gain an image, will it keep her in peace of mind?! What is Sona in all this? Just another Ishwari follower?!

Exactly. That's why complete independence including financial independence is so important for women. Imagine if Ishwari never had to deal with Dadi Bua and Dadi Bua never had to deal with her own in-laws' ill-treatment. Would they be as heartless, as mean to a new bride? May be they would because some people are mean by nature. But a lot of people are mean because of their circumstances and their life experiences. The problem occurs when we no longer recognize our behaviour as wrong because we become de-sensitized by society and traditions towards women's pain.

Ishwari's character is a product of the patriarchal society. 90% of uneducated women in a household where men and their families have dominated lie blatantly. That is how they survive. That is how they get their requirements fulfilled in a patriarchal joint family. For them how /or the path that they choose doesn't matter as long as they are good in front of others, but the goal matters. Hence they will be liked by all and termed the most diplomatic person and loved by all. . I AM NOT JUSTIFYING HER.

Origin of a character and behavior of a person has a history behind it. Most of these traits develop in the initial ages of your life . So grooming of a child plays a huge role in it. What the child sees and understands/ perceives from its environment affects the child. Our parents always tell us don't fight in front of kids, don't lie in front of kids etc etc..

An educated, independent and straight forward person like Sona who comes from a very balanced family ...also fell into the trap because this is a new ground for her. Initial fear and wanting to be perfect in front of her in laws made her do it...was she feeling guilty ?? Yes, she was but did that stop her from agreeing to her MIL . No!! - Because the want to satisfy her love was beyond every principles that she followed.

Now ,imagine at a young age Ishwari has lived with a person like that Dhadhi Bua. What her life would have been and how she would have survived? Remember she never had the luxury that Sona had in her childhood. Women she was around would be like Dhadhi Bua and GKB..so how do you think her character would be ?? The nice side of her comes from the knowledge of religious texts. When it comes to application of these principles to achieve a task fails then she uses her own means to survive. That is what she has seen in her childhood and no one said its wrong because towards the end the goal is achieved!! She will not change . She has mastered it by now. It is a part of her. You take it away from her then she is lost !!

You think , Dhahi Bua would not have lied ?? Yes , she would have done the same as Ishwari . Just that now she is the eldest one and in control , so she need not lie. She can use a religious reasons to achieve her means ( here again she is manipulative - using religion )

But will Sona follow this path - never !! She cant , she will use her skill to come out. I personally feel ,Sona either will give the right answer to Dhadhi Bua tomorrow because while Ishwari was cooking she kept watching every move of hers...she is smart , even at that time she was trying to learn and understand.

OR tell the truth to her and come out clean.

That is how most educated women who are brought up in a very balance family are , they will accept their ignorance . Then learn and achieve what they want to , not to satisfy the world but for themselves.

❤️THIS IS THE REASON FOR DEV TO FALL IN LOVE WITH SONA - AN EDUCATED ,INDEPENDENT ,STRAIGHT FORWARD LADY❤️. Very different from the women he has seen . You know it with the answer that he gives to Kaki during that Muhdhikayi function!! And before their double date while eating those Kachories ...😳

That line there in the bold, is the question I keep asking and the answer I keep searching for. I hope one day in my lifetime, I won't have to ask it anymore because it will no longer be relevant. But see around you how society sic us against another woman. If there are two top actresses in a movie, they try to find rivalry them. If there's a question of mother and daughter-in-laws, society tries to show them fighting over the common factor in their relationship - Kitchen and the son/husband. If you switch on any show, it's women pretending to be friend to one woman while going after her husband because cat-fight over a man is so entertaining. So much so that women's honour, pride and dignity is shown in a negative light.

We, women, are the only one who can stop this by building each other up, not tearing each other down.

Isn't it funny how Dev's Izzat is repeatedly mentioned conveniently to advocate everything that is dubious?

Tia, I don't think Ishwari can make Dadi Bua do or understand anything. You can't teach an old proud person to behave with humility. Especially if you are a daughter in law ! 😲 NEVER !! The ego of a mother in law is quite an impressive monument.

Dadi Bua wants to teach Sona to toe the line, with her long menu and expectations. She wants to say "Look, all your studies and great earnings mean nothing here, if you can't even cook a decent meal for your family. Your husband is earning for the family, what can you do here?"

Ishwari and GKB are not as educated as Sonakshi. They are not her co-workers, to value how good she is at her job and profession. If she wants to be part of the women of the house, she has to fit in.

Don't get me wrong. Instead of doing it for her, Ishwari could have stood by her and instructed her to do it step by step, if she really wanted her to win them over. That's what a good saas would have done in the face of Dadi Bua. But she cannot risk Sonakshi being better than her can she? That too in her domain? Sigh.

WHy are women often their own worst enemies?

Dev's relatives would have never treated Neha like this because a. Neha is the daughter of the house and b. Dev would have stripped their collective hides if they had attacked his sister. No matter how upset he gets, he won't have stormed out of the house if it was Neha who questioned him either. Neha has many times behaved far more rudely with him for many trivial reasons. I never seen him storming out of his house before. In fact he never did that with Sona either before marriage. Now the considerate boyfriend is a husband. Deal is done and signed and delivered. Dev was right, they will be husband and wife after marriage, not lovers. Sona was naive to think that nothing will change after marriage.

I wonder if she will feel the same when Sona's condition comes out. Will she feel that Dev got married to Sona even after knowing everything so she must be Dev's happiness or then her own happiness about grandkids will be more important?

V good analysis... she is v possessive abt her son ...she is doing everything for her ...I feel she requires some counseling... I will agree Dev is her son and she is the reason for him to come to this stage..., but she should understand that she can't take wife or life partners place in her sons life ...

But one thing I can tell that she can get in to any level or face any hurdles for her sons happiness...

actually as mentioned that would have been the best way ...ishwari directing sona and then telling dadi bua that she attempted it and she will learn it with practice...but her obsession about dev ki izzat is what makes her do this and not exactly well being of sona or rescuing sona from this mess...so cook the whole stuff and let dev's wife get praised to skies...
