Hello All,

Very sad after seeing todays episode. Yes we did get a glimpse of Dev-Sona's cute romance...

What they showed today was it anywhere close to reality ?? ( When I say reality I meant 85% of Indian population , do they think this way )

I have seen many inter - caste marriages with in my family and of my friends too...Have never heard any of them narrating such stories. I am a non Brahmin married to an Iyer Brahmin ...a love marriage ...but never had to face such a situation - I was never belittled by my in laws or never there been an incident where mine/my side of family's self-respect was questioned. In fact, of all the relatives his granny was the most jovial friendly member.

I can understand if this story was set in some rural India...but here the backdrop is in a city and in a business tycoons house.

Isnt it creating a wrong image just for the sake of drama and TRP...That dhadhi bua is so scary...lord ...today watching the episode both my husband and I were shocked with the kind of attitude that we saw from that lady. She was hell bend on humiliating a girl just because she didn't belong to her community...Elders are supposed to have wisdom that comes from experience of life . These women lack both of it - wisdom and experience!!

I don't understand why the CV team had to show it this way . My expectation of this serial was very different. I would have really appreciated if the CV team had shown this marriage as an eye opener where in both these families happily conducted the marriage respecting each other's culture in true sense so that their kids are happy.

That would be the image of present India...an India where in majority accepted and respected people as who they are .

After seeing this serial people from different communities would fear to fall in love. And parents of daughters will never agree for such marriages . Even when you read the book " Two States "we see the differences but you don't see the girl getting humiliated this way. Once accepted its complete acceptance after marriage. What ever happened was before they accepted the girl.

Another point that I noticed is Dev- Sona s scene is very less , they don't show it in one go..its just 2 mins of the lead pair and 6 mins of others and "their realism" ??..Seriously ?? sorry I don't mean to hurt any one ...but today the way they portrayed inter cast difference was a lil too much .

An educated India will never accept what they showed today. It was like a joke at the expense of people who truly believed in India and her secularism 😭

Its just my POV ...not sure if you all felt the same or not?? Would love to hear from each one you ..

PS : Insecurity of a mom towards her son is way different topic from what was shown today .

I completely agree.
I am a Bengali Brahmin married to a Canadian. Mine was not only a inter-caste marriage but inter-cultural, inter-religion marriage. I have never seen people with less consideration or less sensitivity.
Today I watched Ishwari silent as they insulted Sona while she was extremely vocal when Sona questioned her husband, Dev.
Dev could not see or hear his wife's insult when his mother was moaning and groaning yet never wondered where she got the strength to respond back to his wife with so much attitude.

Someone said against my complaint in my post that Dev could not defend Sona at the wedding because no groom ever speaks at his wedding. Today was not the wedding. Here his wife got insulted under his roof for asking a valid question. Where was his voice now?

This is what I was talking about when I said that Sona should not have given in so soon.

Definitely not. Personally I never faced it. My husband always stood up for me even in front of his mother. His mother never insulted me because my husband made sure that she understood that my honour is no more or less than hers.

I completely get what your are saying. Todays episode was in
no way reality. No educated family behaves in this way in India as of

now. India is way ahead then what is shown in the serials.
But after having watched this serial for the past 4 - 5 months, I have time

and again seen such off track episodes by the cv's and suddenly after 2-3 episodes they bounce back.

I guess its one of those days , where they didnt have a clue of what

was going on...soon damage control on the way...hang on

dear.

Sona was wrong when she thought Dev will be there for her and she will not need to come to her baba for solutions of her problems.
Looks like Dev will not grow up and Sona will have to do something.

In real life wedding, even if there has been so mistakes/mishap at the wedding, the boy family deal with the issue without troubling the bride or her family and make sure not to let her know that there is something wrong. The wedding day is supposed to be the best day for the bride & groom.

I am wondering why the makers called it a MODERN URBAN REALISTIC LOVE STORY. It has been anything but for the last 50 odd episodes.
My husband is a Muslim and I belong to a conservative and Orthodox South Indian Brahmin family. But never through the wedding or 6 years of married life have we experienced this kind of animosity or hatred from each others families. Oh and it wasn't like our families' were ready with their blessings when we came clean, but we persisted till all resistance crumbled.

And intercultural marriages are not such a novelty in the urban setup. People are accommodating and not so rigid in their beliefs about traditions. It is just absurd all the C**P CVs are feeding us in the name of reality.

Main problem is Dev clearly didn't take stand or made sure infront of Dixits about how much she means to him and that he will not tolerate any disrespect towards her. Ek baar kam se kam GKB ko hi bolde clearly .
😕

Sona made huge mistake for hurrying in this marriage .

Agreed , most inter-cast marriages survive is because of the stand that they take to support their spouse in front of their respective families.
