Exactly. In a marriage, two people needs to work together. Not one person struggling while the other has a blinder on...

I am wondering why the makers called it a MODERN URBAN REALISTIC LOVE STORY. It has been anything but for the last 50 odd episodes.

My husband is a Muslim and I belong to a conservative and Orthodox South Indian Brahmin family. But never through the wedding or 6 years of married life have we experienced this kind of animosity or hatred from each others families. Oh and it wasn't like our families' were ready with their blessings when we came clean, but we persisted till all resistance crumbled.

And intercultural marriages are not such a novelty in the urban setup. People are accommodating and not so rigid in their beliefs about traditions. It is just absurd all the C**P CVs are feeding us in the name of reality.

Exactly!! Sona has been so caught up in her facade of love, that she hasn't realized what trap she's fallen into. In the midst of "respecting her elders" and being a "good bahu" *cringes/rolls eyes* she's going to forget that she's Sonakshi Bose and not Gopi from that stupid Saathiya. Poor Sona is ruining her life marrying Dev, and even though they are so beautiful together, their future seems really shaky and uncertain to me. And on top of that when she finds out she has an inhospitable uterus, it's going to make this whole situation worse, and not because it's her "fault" she can't have kids or anything because that's frankly stupid, offensive, and insulting, but because everyone in what Dev calls a "house", will ruin her life more and more through the passing days. Sona really needs to open her eyes and see the reality that life in the Dixit house isn't going to do her any good.

Unfortunately, what they are showing right now DOES happen.
And I am saying it with such confidence because it happened with me. And then its not like I was married into some illiterate family.

An educated family who have a flourishing business. All broad minded and easy going individuals from the outside but from the inside - worse than Ishwari, Dadi Bua and GKB combined.
I had no support absolutely no support from my ex-husband. In fact, he used to find a way to justify every stupid his family used to say to me.

And the sad part is the girls in our country - even from literate backgrounds- are told to suck up this nonsense and not utter a word in their defense.

Thankfully , my family wasnt like that...After tolerating a lot of nonsense, I stood up for myself - and they couldnt digest the fact their daughter- in- law had a voice of her own.

I am single mother now but in a much more happier state that I was when I was married.
I was lucky to have a supportive family who only wanted my peace and happiness. But there are many girls out there- again from literate families too- who wont get this kind of support from their families.

So the CVs arent showing anything unreal but, yes, the major blunder they are committing is with Dev's character. The guy needs to speak up soon before Sona loses her trust in him.

I am glad and happy your parents supported you . I think for any women, her husband's silence is the worst that you can face and that too at his house...I felt very bad yesterday...and am not going to watch today untill this forum has some good reviews abt the episode...

You are a strong woman, hats off to you to choose a path that is good for you and your child and above all your parents support is a blessing in disguise ...take care dear !

Thank you!😊

Yes it is true...a husband's silence is the worst thing.

LOL I have stopped watching the show too...I watch a bit here and there but I skip the scenes of Ishwari , Dadi Bua and GKB. Its just a show but it makes me really angry to see how they treat Sona who is better than them in every aspect.

And men are not mute spectators when they see their family member humiliating their wife. They will give it back then and there itself...they wont care who it is. ( Again for that the credit goes to the mothers to bring up their son's with such strong ideologies in life ) They will see to that their wife is respected by every one no matter what. And they dont take their wife to places or houses or their relatives where she is not accepted!!

Mom in law might be possessive about their sons but in most cases they will not tolerate their daughter in law getting humiliated by others...because every intelligent lady knows humiliating your daughter in laws is no different from humiliating her son and his entire family!!

CVs have bought Ishwari and Dev to such a low level ...I am not sure how they are going to redeem these characters

@bold Wish... But this was my biggest complaint to my MIL... she let the other treat me badly and each time she didn't say a word she validated their behaviour.

😭😲 not sure what to say dear...now when I read each of your review I feel there is so much of disparity in the way women are treated in the same country ...

I didnt specify the state or the zone I belong to for a reason that this thread shouldnt lead to in fights saying one part of our country is better than the other...personally I dont think it that way . I have friends from most part of this country speaking different languages and following diffierent religious paths...touch wood !! none of them have narrated this kind of behaviour from their in laws...so I guess... probably I was in a bubble...cuckoo land !!

Funnily mine wasn't an intercast marriage... Different mother tongues but same castes at the end of the day but a love marriage arranged by the elders of the family..

But the fact my husband chose his own partner was enough to ammunition.

Only saving grace my husband stood by me like a rock... The insults humiliations didn't stop after the initial years of marriage. I am still not welcome in certain sections of the "family"

We dont visit any of those relatives who had problems with our relationship ...and our parents stood by us in this decision.
