A guy who gropes a girl in a bus but treats his sister with love and respect is still a person to be disgusted with.
Dev yells at Tina frequently, but bullies Sonas boss when he reprimands Sona for not doing her job.

He blackmailed Sona and bullied her hospital into sacking her.

Does this make him a bully or a complicated person?

Why do we have such double standards?

The thing is he also comes and apologies that makes him complicated. Yelling at staff most of us have to do it sometimes like it or not.. Some managers have a strict no nonsense style... So that's okay... I guess...
He told herr to courier the cheque... she started asking something. He snubbed her... Perfectly real situation in a work environment,
He also awarded her a holiday package when she went out of her way to help him.

I don't think Dev can be compared to a guy who gropes girls... Thats just a pervert.

And yet he bullies Sonas boss for doing the exact same thing.

Isn't that double standards??

Slapping someone and later apologising doesn't cancel each other. When in a tight spot his instinct is to react in a negative fashion. This has been shown a dozen times.

When a persons instinctive reaction is bad, it tells us that he is a bad person by nature. You can't always chalk it up as impulsuve behavior.

He didn't really bully Sona's boss... He asked about Sona.. the boss dismissed her as a nutritionist and asked him to ignore her.. that triggered a reaction. He called the Boss to discuss the business proposal...

It is impulsive behaviour... The way he tried offering the apartment to Ranveer... Then when things were explained to him, he thought it thru... Sona is his balancing factor that's why they are perfect for each other.
With time he will mellow down... Most of them do.

Let's not fool ourselves here. Did he arrange a meeting with the boss to discuss a business proposal or to set things straight with him.

Also there is no question regarding bullying. His tone and body language were very clear. Also if it's just a matter of slight to Sona as just another nutritionist, he could have stopped at "best nutrition in town" to defend her. Why add the "friend" thing at all?

Business meeting is just an excuse and we all know that. If not he would have dealt with that first and then may be discussed Sona later.

You are still stuck on that... Please MOVE ON dear.

HUMANS do make mistakes... Not once but several times. It's necessary to realise it and apologies. He is a human and not at all perfect. He's immature and commit mistakes. He had done that in past too and apologized for it. When you are broken from inside, you ought to get angry and sometimes take the frustration out on others, but now only thing he need to do is to realise the mistake and apologize.

I can give a million examples of how meh can behave differently when it comes to "someone else"

Just about every teenage guy would want to makeout with his girlfriend. But the moment he sees his sister making out with another boy, he goes all Tarzan.

Would you disagree??

Please notice the bold part. Accordingly unless Sona is there to reign him in he is out if control like a bull in a china shop.

Secondly that makes him a co-dependant as without her he can't even lead a normal life. Why is it that we don't want Sona to be that way but are perfectly fine with Dev being the same??

Isn't that double standards??

Are we discussing some teenage psychology or mr dev dixit.. We all know how sanskari he is that he gave a lot of room for his gf to be comfortable.. I cant see dev dixit and a pervert mentioned in the same post.

Dev is a bully when he gets impulsive and has anger issues. This was mentioned by the characters themselves (his school teacher etc). Do you think he would have survived and protected his family after his dad passed away when he was 9 yrs old. He had to be a bully to live in this world. But we know he is soft as jelly inside once the outer facade is taken down. He doesnt have ego issues yo go and admit his mistake and will do evrythibg to pacify the person he hurt. That is dev dixit right from episode 1. That is his character and he has a back story to justify it.. So let us accept that is his character and respect it(as much as we dont want him to behave like that).. I would say judge a character if it is changed mid way of the show and is behavibg differently now.. But dev has been very consistent and his character has not changed till date.
Though i do not approve how he broke up with sona, icannot thibk of any other way this chracter would have behaved given that that is how cvs definied his chracter.
