We all have double standards...We are all humans..We are all flawed! So is Dev...No big deal.. Reasons behind having double standards could vary from person to person - people trying to prove their beliefs are true, emotional attachment (like an excuse for someone they like), as an excuse for themselves, to remain psychologically balanced, self deception, to justify their actions, emotions taking over rational thinking, selective nature of human memory, low emotional intelligence etc etc

It's not about not having human faults. Ofcourse we have then and so will chars on a TV show. The point is that we have seen these flaws on day 1 and are still seeing them Midway of the series.
You expect them to improve, overcome their flaws, insecurities, prejudices. Be that Neha or Ishwari or Dev.

Neha starting overcoming her flaws. Ishwari has just exhibited her insecurities fully so needs time to overcome them. Dev had enough time but is yet to start showing the growth.

That's the point.

@TM : Overcoming flaws is not the only scenario. Sometimes these flaws are hard to change. I have many flaws and believe me despite my sincere attempts I have failed to overcome most of them. Now, I have learnt to accept (and even love) those things that I can not change about myself. We humans are anything but rational. Our actions and decisions are not based on logic but emotions. In fact even with what we believe are logical decisions, the very point of choice is arguably always based on emotion.A character's ultimate transformation where the flaw is eliminated is good but then success in spite of an existing flaw is harder to pull..

I said this before and will say it again. I hate it when someone makes a valid and compelling argument that counters my own.

Still I like to have the last word even if I don't always have it.

Its that I am partial to characters that are larger than life and the story of an average Joe isn't as interesting to me.😃😃

it is possible to overcome your flaws when you are aware of them... dev is not aware of his flaws.. has he ever thought about how he bullied tina? no! has he ever thought about how he forced sona into working for his mom? he justified that wrong action as "but i did it for my mom"... he has internal justification for his bad behavior.. he is doing it for the people he loves so its okay...

And in my case it's exactly opposite.. I like flawed characters. They seem more real to me.. But my problem here is that Dev has so many flaws that he also seems unreal 😆😆 so unreal that I started questioning why this smart, intelligent and mature girl like Sonakshi fell for such self-centered, arrogant and selfish person. There can be a decent balance of good and bad in a person. 😛

True.. it's ok to have flaws as long as they don't harm or hurt other people. But when you start bulling and threatening others in the name of love for mother or protection of your GF.. that becomes unacceptable social behavior. That way every stalker and bully in the world has his/her own justification for their actions.

it is freaky how similar we think... i like flawed characters as well... i found it very surprising when sonakshi fell for him... i thought it was too early... hopefully with this breakup he will transform and learn to control his "controlling/interfering" tendencies... learn to give people space.. stop bullying people and own up to his actions.. i started watching the show for dev and i really liked him in the beginning... i was quite touched with his love for his family, but when he bullied sona and got her fired from the hospital forcefully making her to work for him i was very disappointed.. it was such a jarring contrast to the idealized/ perfect dev we had seen... when the makers show him as perfect.. he is too perfect and when he is wrong its all skimmed under the rug, which is frustrating to watch..

I love characters with multiple flaws..it makes them more real for me..And sometimes these flaws can double as an asset too...Had it not been a fiction I would have asked Sonakshi to run away as far as possible from such an emotionally wrecked person like Dev...in real life I would see their's as a toxic relationship!

I started watching the show based on few initial promos.. thinking this show is very close to reality with mature individuals and their mature love story. Sadly after first few episodes it all started to crumble. Sadly their love seemed anything but mature with cheesy lines thrown at each other.. Sona being all starry eyed for Dev and Dev making all these hollow promises to Sona.. just to break them at first given opportunity It was like high school romance 😭 😕

And before someone tells me to stop watching the show because I have issues with the show.. I still like a few characters on this show.. Ishwari, Neha, RKB, mamaji and now the new guy. So I will still watch it and then there is still this hope that maybe Dev will grow up some day and own up to his wrong doings 😉😆
