Hahaha... My poor heart is barely hanging in there...

Looks like today the makers have given a lifeline - Mamaji...unless this is the next character to be butchered, there is a bit of hope that he drums some sense in Ishwari...
And seems like tomm Ishwari is going to face a bomb blast :))

Here's a lesson in making the most beautiful & natural feeling ... Unnatural.
My mind automatically gave a background music - dhan dhan dhan !!!!

For god sake dr bose is a dr not a maid , now days the way Ishwari is treating her is so unhealthy , she is acting like GKB

There is no difference between them , i find Sona 100 times more sincere to Dev than Ishwari as she is bearing all taunts for Dev

Ishwari was a very powerful character her inner security has made her a typical soap character

loved your topic you have very well written it

everything about ishwari is unhealthy..
how she has raised (or lack thereof) Neha and other two girls. her lack of concern and regard for how Neha is doing post marriage. how she looks, talks about and now handholding (precap) her grown son.

Her expression in the precap was hilarious. Your son is in love not robbed a bank, you know!

i dont understand wat point TM is trying to make...ishwari's character is evry real...her ovr-obsessiveness and tight hold on her son is unhealthy i agree to that...but such unhealthy traits r real and not made up by the CVs...

i guess u hvnt seen such MILs in real life...but i hv and i assure u that they r showing the raw truth...i am gving u some examples...can u believe that i know someone who doesnt even allow her son to shut his bedroom door at night even wen he is sleeping with his wife...she only allows a curtain at the door...can u believe i know another MIL who always takes her son out with her wenever he has invitation in another place with his wife so that his wife cannot go out with his son...ishwari is a very much real character...and the CVs hv always told us from pre-launch promos that dev's mom will be possessive and so devakshi will face problems...the MILs that i just gv examples are also very sweet and caring with everyone else excepts their DILs...my closest friend is one such DIL...she always tells me that she has noone to complain since noone will believe...everyone else thinks that her MIL is a very sweet person but only she knows how her MIL behaves with her...ishwari is nothing compared to wat i hv seen in real life...a son's mother can be obsessed to the height of infinity...i hv known one who even tried to commit suicide because of her MIL's over-obsessive nature...here they r showing that ishwari lost her husband at very young age...but the examples that i gv still hv their husbands alive but still they r so over-obsessed with their sons...this happens mostly wen mothers hv only one son irrespective of whether they hv daughters or not...so dont worry...the CVs r very true to reality and they r not showing any OTT drama...

and we r not supposed to connect with ishwari...the CVs hv always promised us this topic where devakshi will face problems because of dev's mother...the purpose of this show is to explore this facet of the society where MILs refuse to accept another woman in son's life and its repercussions...

most of the cruel MILs that i hv seen around me surprisingly hv daughters too...so ishwari hvng 4 children is also not for drama's sake...only common element that i find in these kinds of mothers in real life is that they hv only one son...and ishwari too has only one son...

i am finding nothing wrong in this show so far...

I completely agree with you.

I believe people on the forum are upset because its an uneasy feeling when you watch a mother behave like this for her son. But as you have given some very good examples, such mothers duly exist in the society. I feel sad for the DIL's of such MIL's. It must be a living hell for such DIL's.

I remember people complain when Sona was all dreamy, when post-confession Dev was all lovey-dovey (some even compared it with fantasy stories 😆). You can't really expect life to be a one-track what you like kind of a thing. It just doesn't exist that way. Things can be simple or can be crude. Its a show which has done a daring act of touching a mother's character which is very complex but real and portrayed it on-screen for all of us. One may dislike/hate (FYI I hate Ishwari too) watching something like that on tv, but certainly that doesn't make the work of creators bad. I am glad someone brought that subject onscreen.

I for one am really looking forward to the story, how it unfolds, what effects does it would have on Dev-Sona and finally how Ishwari would realise what blunders she has done all her life n almost destroyed the lives of her kids emotionally.

Thank goodness none of her daughters have any character of Ishwari n they won't be destroying any future lives like mother.

Agree to everything you said here. I too feel there is nothing wrong in the show concept wise. I also agree that comparing to some MILs in real life Eshwari ji is nothing before them.

I only feel here problem is with the execution and presentation of Eshwari's character. Supriya ji is a terrific actor and there is no Q or doubt about that and i am able to bear Eshwari only because of her. My only Q is how writers want to show case Eshwari's character? From the starting i honestly felt this show is more about Eshwari's journey & growth than dev-sona's journey because i feel she is the most flawed character in this entire show.
If writers want to highlight her insecurities then they really need to tone down Eshwari's character and her scary/disgusting expressions. With this much intensity, viewers cant understand/connect/sympathize with her. I honestly feel writers need to pull up their socks and protect what they have built so beautifully till now in this show and not to spoil its essence just for drama. This is just my pov.

Agree. Such MIL exist in dozens. I myself know of several of them. That is why never found Ishwari unrealistic. It's only that here we are shown her saying aloud her demented thinking and in real life these are sub conscious actions.

In fact a piece of wisdom someone gave me once- (have personally seen it happening also) Most mothers do not like to share their son and have jealousy issues. If their son in law spends time with daughter he is sensible and understanding. If son does that with wife he is becoming joru ka gulaam

Out of these women several go to the extent of trying to demean the daughter in law or do not let their sons marry women of their choice or try to control their sons like robots.

The game changer in every case has to be the son. If he refuses to give in to his mother's tantrums and insists that his wife be respected the mother learns to adjust within a few years. Else the relationship becomes hell.
