I fully appreciate your feelings but me and in fact most of the audience is not mature enough to appreciate your school of romance. After all I am only 39 and was speaking from personal experience and understanding of the way people behave in initial stages of love. 😆

Regarding trying to understand your expectations I am sorry didn't have the time to go through all your replies. Have just read your main post and your replies to my posts. From that I couldn't grasp what you want as there are lots of what should not be done but nothing about what would look better? I guess it is always much easier to criticise. 😆

Hmm...I think I know what you are trying to say ..well I might not agree with you completely but somewhere I do agree on the romance part ...

I prefer to see their courtship period for sometime before Ishwari''s drama starts so I have no issues with the track but I do agree that their romance gets little cheesy at times...but in between there are some powerful dialogue which makes me feel good ...I think some scenes are reapeated and that makes the romance look little dull and boring .I might not get the kind of romance I am looking for in Indian television ...I did read some really nice OS/SS here and I am kind of satisfied.

I still enjoy this show a lot and I alway look forward to watching this show .Its much better than any other current shows .

@Bold: Clearly it shows in your replies --- You're only speaking from your experience --- aka experience of *one individual* and trying to make it seem universal ---- Too bad, universe offers many varieties of couples/individuals and many variation of romance --- So I would have to agree with you that even at 39, not mature enough to grasp simple concept like diversity --- *😆*

DevAkshi, Erica & the "Romance" factor!

I am not an active member, far from it actually!😆 I usually only stalk to see if there are spoilers or new bytes from the actors. However, when I found posts and members discussing something as interesting as character development and story telling I couldn't help but share my two cents.

Addressing the crux of the discussion -

Change from DR. Sonakshi Bose to Dev's Sonakshi(I really wish Dev called her Sona already!😆)

The Sonakshi we see now and the one that we saw at the beginning of the show are two completely different people. However calling her character butchered is a little too extreme I think. As everyone here , I am also of the opinion that when a person falls in love(especially for the first time ever) it changes that person. After all isn't being in love all about the other person? So much so that you forget you own self! No matter how cliche' and illogical the very idea is? Well to a person who has always wanted to live her very own love story I don't think it should surprise us that it changed her. It's not just her though now is it?! Can you seriously tell that the Dev we see now is the one that we saw at the beginning of the show?😲 In fact if we look at the both of them, he has probably surprised us more with his change than Sona did! I for one am not complaining though!😆But let's not forget that this is just the beginning! Their love is yet to mature.. it's still in the puppy stage when you look at it now. Both of them are in their small private bubble of happiness and they are yet to completely understand what the future holds for them and their relationship. So I think we should not jump to writing them off as dumbed down versions just yet.

However, the only part about Sona's character right now that irks me is how easily she lets Radha Rani belittle her!😡 I don't want her to show RR her place or stoop down to her level of course but she needs to make her understand that she is not obligated to take shit from someone for no fault of hers especially when she's not even her client . But then how else can they show the difference between cultured and uncultured - obhodoro in the true sense of the word. So I'll take it.

I am now hoping to see how Dr. Bose (when she does make a return and she will) will manage to balance this side of hers(the heart) with her old self. It's going to be mighty interesting to see how the writers are going to manage doing it. Speaking of writing, I have loved everything that they have given us till now sans the OTT love guru dosages from Elena . I loved how they have handled the whole relationship between Sona and Dev as well as Dev and Ishwari. No unnecessary complications (the fake Boyfriend track almost scared me). Their journey from being strangers to friends and now lovers has been so subtle and realistically handled. I almost have no complains and that's saying something for an Indian Soap.🤔

Coming to the Bose family.No matter how we see it, apart from showing the contrast between the two families they are not adding anything to the show right now. I seriously just skip everything when it comes to them. But I am not wishing for that to change as of yet. There is enough drama at Dixits to suffice for both DevAkshi and us to deal with right now. 😆

Erica's acting skills-

I really think she is one of the best on the show as well as on TV right now. Seeing as she has just entered the industry, it's commendable how real and effective her acting has been. I can relate to her character the most and Erica's acting definitely has been the main reason why I can see and understand her the way I do. I keep telling everyone how fortunate it is that both the leads of the show are such good actors. It's very rare for me to like the female lead even half as much as the male lead on a show😆 But Erica and Sona made it so easy for me when it came to KRPKAB . I am glad that she is the one who's playing Sona and ShaRica are so bloody brilliant together as DevAkshi. Both are terrific actors! Of course Shaheer however, has experience to give him that little edge over Erica but she's getting there and we can see how quickly she's getting there as well.

I see a lot of people complaining about the OTT romance factor on the show. I can't really talk for anyone but me so can I just be a complete fangirl and say I absolutely love watching Shaheer being oh so romantic I LOVE watching this side of Dev! I dont want it to stop!!! ❤️

On a more serious note, like I said it's just the beginning people. It's their first time falling in love. They haven't experienced love as teenagers. Which is why we see them act the way they are. So I seriously think we should cut the writers some slack. I do think we have some wonderful writers who seriously know what they are doing(well at least most of the times). I think this phase won't last forever so might as well enjoy it till the time we get it. The conflict has already started so our wish for a mature love story is not that far!

I think your problem is not the "cheesy romance" as you term it, its more to do with Dev's overnight behaviour after the confession. Where Sonakshi is thanda, Dev is reacting to love over dramatically - if the dramatics played out slowly gradually - since Dev has been portrayed as a serious person through out the show before confession, you would have been fine then.

I am fine with the romance even though I did not expect to get so much of it immediately after the confession. It bearable to watch I did not miss out any episode on that account.

I felt the romance sequence has been played out in a hurry to show the complete contrast of the show.
