I think your problem is not the "cheesy romance" as you term it, its more to do with Dev's overnight behaviour after the confession. Where Sonakshi is thanda, Dev is reacting to love over dramatically - if the dramatics played out slowly gradually - since Dev has been portrayed as a serious person through out the show before confession, you would have been fine then.

I am fine with the romance even though I did not expect to get so much of it immediately after the confession. It bearable to watch I did not miss out any episode on that account.

I felt the romance sequence has been played out in a hurry to show the complete contrast of the show.

The point is this show is close to real life..and even for modi every day is not hot and happening.. There are normal days in life which is just about going through daily chorous , routine ..in real life we do not cry all the time, are npt always surrounded by problems...and all the time it is not about plannings and plotting by vamps, separations and leaps, unwanted and uncalled twist and turns..so I am.happy how things are progressing...
