From the bylanes of Parle Point in Surat to being acknowledged as the best child actor on Indian television (he recently won the award in Mumbai). [dhruv]

From Surat to tellyland:
When I was four year old, my father, a private tutor, took me to a photo studio and the owner of the studio, after seeing my snaps, suggested that we forward them for advertisements. That's how it all started. I went for different auditions and one day Ekta aunty (Ekta Kapoor) selected me in her serials. I don't get tired because I like doing the work. I am enjoying myself.

School and studies:
I am now studying in Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir School in Surat. I haven't missed a year, as my parents enrolled me in Mumbai's Little Angel School last year and I did my Junior K G there. I have won 13 medals and three trophies for skating at city, district and state level. I love playing cricket. Let me share a secret with you — I really want to be a cricketer!

My favourites:
Sachin Tendulkar is my favourite cricketer. I love watching Hanuman cartoons and my favourite actors are Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan. And yes, I love aeroplanes and helicopters.

Acting with big stars:
I enjoyed my acting stint with Iqbal uncle (Iqbal Khan) and Hiten Uncle (Hiten Tejwani). Iqbal uncle and I do lots of boxing and Hiten uncle calls me Shaitan. I like to act with them because they play with me.

On winning the best child actor award:
I received the award from Shaan uncle so I am very happy. And now people have started recognising me. One day when I was travelling by an aeroplane, one airhostess address me as Pratik ( his screen name) and gave me all the chocolates from her plate

Eijaz quits Balaji show

Sumeet Sachdev replaces Eijaz Khan as lead in Balaji's new show Khawaish

Filmi chakkar: Eijaz Khan
After Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka went off-air, Khawaish was slated as the next big serial from the Balaji camp. Now we hear that Eijaz Khan, who was to play the lead in Khawaish has walked out of the show. Sumeet Sachdev has replaced him.

Nivedita Basu, creative head of Bajaji Telefilms, confirms the news. She says, "Yes, we wanted Eijaz in the show, but he has eventually opted out because he got good film offers. He is doing a film Meerabai, Not Out with Mandira Bedi; so it's obvious that he will give preference to films over serials. We have roped in Sumeet who fits into the character."

A source from Balaji adds, "The lead character of Kabir Khan was written with Eijaz Khan in the mind. The entire serial is going to be shot in Dubai. The serial was delayed so that Eijaz could finish Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka and give full time to the new show. But, Eijaz has now opted out..."

Sumeet Sachdev says, "Yes, I am doing Khawaish. I am playing the lead protagonist Kabir Khan. He's is from a business family and his father is a business tycoon based in Dubai."

Sumeet Sachdev
"This project is going to be very challenging. We have just started shooting and every day I come across new Urdu words. As the script is based in Dubai, the language is more or less dominated by Urdu. Every day is a new learning experience," adds Sumeet.

Does he mind that he is a replacement for Eijaz? Sumeet says, "I know that they had approached both Eijaz and me… But I am really enjoying the show."

Pulkit 'back' in shape
By: Tushar Joshi
February 5, 2007

Pulkit Samrat
He's been lying low for quite some time, so we wondered if everything was well with Pulkit Samrat aka Lakshya of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

"I have been shooting non-stop and also taking care of my back problem," says Samrat, who has been suffering from a severe back ailment. "It isn't new. I've been having this backache for years now, but it because worse because of my hectic work schedule."

Point person

After consulting a few doctors in the city, Pulkit finally decided to put his worries in his family's hands. "My maasi knew someone in Dubai who specialises in acupuncture and acupressure. So I went there and got acupuncture treatment last month."

Feeling some relief after the procedure, Pulkit has been advised to rest his back whenever possible and continue acupressure during breaks. "I have been shown some points on my palm which I need to work on to feel better. It has definitely helped me and I will continue this therapy, which has three levels."

Apart from the treatment, Pulkit also got to roam around Dubai during the shopping festival. "Unfortunately, I didn't shop much. I was just walking around looking at others shop!"

No distraction

Recently, Pulkit was pencilled for a cameo in Balaji's upcoming soap Kayamath, but had to let go of it due to a date clash. "It was a fabulous role and I even shot for it, but I couldn't continue any longer since my dates were clashing with Kyunki."

Finally the production house roped in Eijaz Khan for the role. "Yes, Eijaz is doing the role now. But I got to work with Anil V Kumar (director) for the first time and it was amazing. At the moment, I just want to concentrate on Kyunki and make the most of it. Anything else will definitely be a distraction."

Speaking of distractions, there's a buzz doing the rounds about his growing fondness for co-star Moni Roy, who plays Krishna Tulsi. Reacting to this he says, "Frankly there are only three people on the Kyunki sets who I talk to. I hardly interact with anyone else than Amit Tandon, Manav Vij and Reshmi Ghosh. I prefer to keep myself out of other people's business. As far as Moni is concerned, it's rubbish that I am extra fond of her. She's just my co-star and nothing more."

Not without my boys

It's a well-known fact that Ektaa Kapoor's favourite actors at Balaji Telefilms include Ejaz Khan and Iqbal Khan. Coincidentally, both are out of Balaji at the moment.

And though Iqbal has no immediate plans of returning, Ejaz will return after he finishes shooting for Pritish Nandy Communications' film 'Meerabai, Not Out' (opposite Mandira Bedi).

Ektaa says, "Ejaz was supposed to go to Dubai for our new show there. But because of his film commitment he couldn't. But he's most certainly doing our next show." She adds, "We're working on three shows right now. Hopefully, Ejaz will be in 'Kasturi'. We'll decide after his film is completed."

In the meanwhile, Ektaa's other favourite actor Hiten Tejwani is going great guns with Balaji. Not only is he an integral part of 'Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' (Star
Plus), Ektaa has roped him in for two new Balaji serials.

Ektaa says, "Hiten is already doing 'Kyunkii'. He'll be seen as Anupam in 'Karam Apna Apna' (Star Plus) and as Anurag in 'Kasauti Zindagi Kay' (Star Plus). Yash Tonk is the other hero in 'Karam…'."

As for Iqbal, she says, "Yes, we do miss him at Balaji. But the show must go on."

Abhay Sachdeva (Fardeen Khan) comes from city and is amiable and ambitious by nature and works in an MNC. His sense of humor and good spirits makes him an ideal guy to hang around with. He does things that people of his age normally do like going to gym or gulping beer. He is grounded to his tradition and is a guy-next-door and this is the reason after completing his MBA abroad he returns back to his family in India. He also abides by his parents wishes and agrees to marry the girl they've chosen for him.

Ritika Khanna (Esha Deol) is also taken by surprise when her parents decide her marriage with a complete stranger but for a sole meeting. Unable to understand the concept of arranged marriage there are many things that creates waves of emotions inside her. After 24 hours marriage it comes as a strange thought for both to go for a 5-day honeymoon to Ooty. The only thing that they know about each other is their name - Abhay Sachdeva and Ritika Sachdeva now changed from Ritika Khanna. Ritika also knows little bit about his family like his parents are nice and his sister is half crazy, but that's it. But he knows nothing about him other than he prefers colour blue since he wore a blue sherwani for his wedding. There are many questions reeling in her mind and she is not even sure if she'll be able to fall in love with the man she has married. He starts his journey expecting surprises in every step. With patience and sensitivity he is all set for it. Anticipating romance the two strangers now husband and wife set together on their honeymoon. Along the way they meet some couples, some individuals, some believers in the institution of marriage and the romance of togetherness, some non-believers.

Marriage was only the beginning in this movie that starts where most others end. Set amidst middle class India where romance and love start at the ultimate commitment-marriage, this is a different love story ready to be witnessed by many who have undergone similar experince.

Though Ejaz Khan has opted out of Ekta Kapoor's next big budget soap which is being shot in Dubai, he hasn't fallen out with the soap queen. She has roped him in to play an important role in her latest offering Kayamath. Even though it's a cameo sources say the role is an important one. Pulkit Samrat who plays Lakshya in Kyunki… was the original choice but things didn't work out. The poor guy couldn't be part of the show coz Balaji realised they needed him more in Kyunki. So Pulkit was out even though he started shooting for it.

Prachi Desai

Prachi Desai

I wouldn't want to get married on Valentine's Day, as it would be a complete waste!

Instead, I would choose a date closer to V-day so that I have more than just one day to celebrate.

Rakshanda Khan

Rakshanda Khan

I wouldn't really wait for Valentine's Day.

I think the day I get married to my man will be the most special day of my life.

Why wait till February 14 to do that?

Shveta Salve

Shveta Salve

I have no problems with others getting married on Valentine's Day as I think it's a great day to tie the knot.

But personally, I wouldn't wait for a specific day to come to get married.

Riva Bubber

I would love to get married on V-day. I think the idea is quite romantic!

Kushal Punjabi

Kushal Punjabi

Well, it is the day of love, so I would definitely love to settle down with that special someone on Valentine's Day.

Eijaz Khan

Eijaz Khan

I think we should ban Valentine's Day.

We don't need phirangs to tell us which day to profess love to one another.

I find that Archie's Teddy Bear the most annoying thing in the world!

Rupali Ganguly

Rupali Ganguly

I really don't believe in Valentine's Day.

It's just another day and marriage can happen any time of the year!

Anita Hasanandani Eijaz Khan Eijaz and Anita have the King of Cups,
the Victory Card, the Queen of Cups, Eight of Swords and the King of
Swords. What it means Eijaz is very focused on his career. He born
under the sun, which will help him gain professional success. He will
definitely have a love marriage.

Their relationship is very strong. Marriage is on the cards. At the
most, there could be a slight delay because of certain career moves.

They share a strong, emotional bond. Their cards also show that either
of them has had an intense past relationship.

There could be an engagement by this year-end. They could get married
by December-January.

Rajeev Khandelwal Aamna Shariff Rajeev and Aamna have the Tower Card,Queen of Wands and the Lover Card.

What it means Though they have a great bond, the Tower Card indicates that something has gone wrong in their friendship.

They both require strength to overcome that to rebuild their relationship.

Aamna has the Queen of Wands which means she is quite balanced. She is trying to focus on her career but at the same time she values this relationship very much.

Rajeev takes a little time to forgive and forget. They also have the Lover Card, which indicates that they have a great future together

Karan Oberoi "Mona Singh Karan and Mona have the Card of Victory and
the Four of Pentacles.

What it means Karan complements her well and is very supportive of
Mona. They share a strong bond. Both are very focused on their careers.

There is definitely a strong attachment between them. The card of
Victory indicates a happy phase in their lives. But, everything is not
hunky dory.

They also have a slightly negative card the Four of Pentacles which
means there is something they have to sort out or just let forget.

But, overall, I see a happy, good relationship between them. Important
decisions will have to wait until next year.

Gaurav Chopraa Narayani Shastri Gaurav and Narayani have the
Temperance Card, Eight of Swords, Six of Swords, Magician Card and the
Queen of Pentacles Card.

What it means The Eight of Swords indicates that minor fights may
happen often which could cause friction. But they will still be
together. April will be a good month for their relationship.

The Magician Card shows that there a lot of potential to make things
work. They are both balanced in their approach to life. Their deep
friendship is the base of their relationship.
