In the romantic scenes the passion that Sangeeta shows is awesome. The hug scene in the hospital or the during the confession scene or the proposal one...was superb. So passionately executed.👏

Agreed

For me, jaan of this show is both Saanchi and DV - they both are incomplete without each other. I watch all Saanchi's scenes with same enthusiam as I watch DV's. Varied emotions shown by Sangeeta are fab - better than Ruslaan. We will see more of Sanchi's emotions now once this track and issue is sorted out. We will get to see other side of Saanchi too and Sangeeta will give 200% to those emotions.

Hopefully the coming episodes will show the lighter side of Saachi and those will be more entertaining to watch.

Nice Sudip. This is a totally different perspective .Every girl dream of a partner like DV but sadly such men are very very rare.
For a change , the guy is shown as soft , loving and caring...that makes DV more adorable. In most shows we see the short-temperded , egoistic guy who keeps hurting the girl again and again.

Very well said Sudip...DV represents the rare variety of males and thus make for a treat to watch. We tend to like what we have always idealised and when someone has it, its natural to respect it.

Nice topic Vinee... I agree to the fact that most of the members are femaleS here. But apart from that there are some other factors which favour DV.

  • DV is kind of every girl's dream boy and to see such a personality onscreen invariably gives an edge to Ruslaan.
  • Most of us(females) are more or less very society conscious- what society thinks, speaks and so on when it comes to our own lives(though many may not acknowledge). Though we identify with Saachi's character, nature and circumstances, our minds want to find solace in finding a character like DV.
  • Sacchi's struggle with her family, society and so on are so familiar to us. May be the struggles we have in our daily life are similar but circumstances different. Many times we want to find a solution in our lives and when reel life kind of gives you a hope through DV, he becomes popular.
  • If we look at the concept of the story, we see lot of saachis in our society. Many women who have sacrificed their lives for their families. But to find a DV in our society is a little difficult even now.(barring a few in the urban crowd)So his character takes limelight. I personally prefer to watch light movies than some serious movies because already we have lot of struggles. Atleast on screen let it be something that gives us hope and happiness. So DV's character gives that ray of hope and happiness.
  • Both our actors Ruslaan and Sangeeta have actually complemented each other so well that acting wise they are on par with each other. But when it comes to characterisation, writers have given an edge for DV. I would say 60-40.. so that the story line works..
  • I am somehow reminded of the entry of Shiv in Balika Vadhu..where he takes the centerstage after his entry in BV. The role of DV is somewhat similar. ( Sorry if I am not supposed to compare)
These are just my personal views and do not intend to offend anyone.
Remya

Amazing analysis Remya...you covered each and every point. Its a complete answer to the question. I simply loved it. Sorry for replying late...was in office...loved your post.

A perfect super hit on screen jodi..
So, it is not about age..!

--I agree your second point.
It is all about male female viewer ratio... !! Only girls watch this drama...1% only male viewers!

So obviously this is going to happen...As it is a drama with lots of flirt, So DV has got a very good screen space that is it..

Saachi Character is a very unique and one of the most beautiful character in the television history..
But unfortunately, flirt romance bit is so much associated with DV character, girls are mostly drooling over him😉...Thus Saachi is not discussed.. Because we Girls do not know how to appreciate another girl..😛🤣
We girls are just jealous type of creature.😆,, It is our natural in-build trait😊 😛🤣This is how we are made with built-in trait,, ...Saachi is romancing such a handsome hank, we are just jealous in our subconscious mind.😆.. Hope I could explain.. 😉

It is just related to girls' psychology...and nothing else.

Don't agree Sama...it's not that anyone dislikes Saachi...it's only that we all like DV more.

And according to my POV...the main reason that makes me more inclined towards DV is bcoz of his beautiful character sketch.I have mentioned earlier also ,that DV may be a rich guy, flirting with girls, chirpy.mischievous but he is not a spoilt brat...he is matured, has principles , loving , caring, respects elders. This beauty of the character and the good looks of DV has made me attracted towards him.I have seen many shows but there is a dearth of such characters in our TV.
And as per acting skills Ruslaan is improving with every passing episode and that too very well...

Same here divine...I am also married and I don't like DV because he is a hunk or he has a hot body...its purely his qualities as a person which attract me. Irrespective of the fact that I am a girl or even if I was a boy...I would have liked DV more for the strength he has always shown and the way he has helped everyone...and much more than because he entertains.

Are nahin Yaar...atleast don't say that she looks average...I am also more of DV fan like you but atleast Yaar on looks ground she is amazing...just hope she uses less of the frowning expressions which create marks between her eyes and use less of hands on face and hair to show tension and worries...other than these scenes I love to see her. Even DV doesn't looks nice when he is unshaven...or has gelled hair...I think DV need to change his hairstyle from the back as he has very thick wavy hair and they should be tapered from the back.

Very goodpost. Unlike most youth on this forum I fall in the same age group as Sangita Ghosh. My reason for watching this Serial was Sangita Ghosh. I don't think Saachi is being overshadowed by DV at all. I am being very objective and neutral here.

I like the way Saachi has been portrayed. Composed/ patient and very grounded. In contrast DV comes across as impatient / over enthu and extremely warm kind of person.

I like to watch serials which I can identify with. I don't watch them for the cast most of the time more for the plot. And Sangita being a part of the plot was only more tempting.

Sangita may be average looking but is an extremely natural and talented actress. Ruslaan in spite of being younger ( they just have 5 -6 yrs gap) is doing an equally good job.Ruslaan was a surprise I have never seen him but have seen his Mom act in many movies

This forum is like all above mentioned full of young girls. The plot has been on tv before in Astitva Ek Prem Kahani well received and was an extremely popular show. My reason for watching JLZ was Sangita but now is RM too

It's really nice to know somebody so mature speaking up his mind. I agree that this forum is filled with young girls who like larger than life characters and this has resulted in DV's popularity. Just one point I want to make astiitva was my favourite serial too although when it was telecasted I was too young to understand the concept so well. I liked it because it was entertaining. But when I look back and compare the two the latter had a higher realistic feel to it. Astiitva was not essentially a love story...it was about how age gap controls someone's thought process. JLZ is more on the entertainment side with message conveyed in a more subtle way. Also in astiitva Varuna Badola was shown as the flamboyant youth who had lesser stability in relationship. He just liked the poised Nikki Aneja proposed her...went all mad and married her. It showcased more on the fact that he had little maturity to handle such a relationship. Here in JLZ so far DV has shown sometimes more mature than even Saachi and here lies the beauty...it's more how a relationship like this is looked at by the society and how inspite of being younger DV can teach a more mature Saachi a lot of things...the crux being reemphasised that age doesn't matter.
But loved your post...

I Like Sangeetha As A Actor N She Is Beautiful At 37.But Sanchi Is Like A Typical TV Heroine.Nothing New .DV Character Is A Welcome Change .He Is Not Like The Typical Hero Of TV .Like Mama's Boy,So Perfect Husband N Ant-Hero .DV As A Character Is Full Of Life .Happy Go N He Is Not So Perfect. He Also Does Some Mistake .So I Like DV Character More Sanchi .
I Have Seen Sangeetha's Previous Show N Know She Is A Good Actress.I Have Not Seen Any Of Ruslaan Movies .When I Saw His Acting In This Show.I Was Pleasantly Surprised Seeing His Acting. He Express N Emote Well.Honestly I Feel He Is A Best Debut On TV N Best Thing To Happen On TV .He Deserves All The Publicity N Praise He Gets .Because Some Undeserved Actors R Praised So Much .But Ruslaan Is A Good Actor So Deserves All The Appreciation.

Look around everywhere...in our country...dere r so many crimes happening against women...d trust factor of guys is diminishing, in general...in such a situation, DV's character is a ray of hope...not just for d girls, but guys as well...

For d girls, he represents d quintessential male dat every girl deserves...calm, poised, smart, caring, supportive & witty

For d guys, his characte is proof dat not all guys r d same...dat we too r humans with a heart which has feelings...dat we too love truly & faithfully...

Completely Agree With U .Very Well Said N Written.

@Red - So True He Is Hope For Guys As Well

@Bold - That's Why As A Guy I Like DV Character .
