Hi folks!! I've been catching up with Kasturi and omg! Raunak's is EVIL!! I'm finding that so hard to imagine. 😕 Oh well atleast Jatin is doing justice to his role. Anyway... Here's my next installment!!! 😃 I really hope you enjoy this one as well. It's like 12.00am here and I'm still typing away! lol. Feeling kinda tired. But I will get this done for you!! Mwaaaaah! 😃 COLD FEVER Set-back:Kasturi is on her way to work now. The poor thing. What will happen? Not many people like her in the Sabbarawaal-Mehra khaandaan... A headache was coming through. She could feel it. The force at which Adi had grabbed her hair was so strong that her whole head had begun to throb. Kasturi rubbed her tired eyes. She had been trying to finish off her assignment for the past two nights and she still wasn't finished. The stress of her extremely hard assignment definitely added to her increasing headache. Now that she was on her way to work, she knew for sure her headache wouldn't subside. She could only pray for a smooth night at work so to finish early and get some well deserved rest...
Kasturi walked into Devika maam's study and greeted herself. "Good evening maam, Main aagayi". Devika who had been busy writing an official letter looked up from her document to realise it was Kasturi. "Oh Kasturi, welcome welcome. Thank you for coming and that too on time!" she said in a pleased manner.
"Achcha, come, let me give you a small briefing of what to do tonight. It won't take too long. So... you have to speak to these sponsors and make sure that sign these contracts (handing the documents to Kasturi) before the big concert in two weeks ok? ..." with that Devika maam gave a her whole list of things Kasturi had to complete by the night. It was proving hard, and to top that, she had to meet Robbie and re-schedule all his important meetings that were to be held the following day- all because he had *other plans*.
It was a harrowing process; finding the right place in the bungalow was especially proving hard for bechari and tired Kasturi. Kasturis' headache has turned into a migrain. How she wished she could've left all this and gone home. "Hain Baghwaan, please help me get through this" said Kasturi to herself. And time chugged by as Kasturi one-by-one ticked off all her given duties on her clip board. She only had three more things to do on the list and it was 10.00pm already!!! She had classes the following morning starting at 9.00am! She was in a dilemma. Kasturi wished she didn't have to meet Robbie but circumstances would not allow that wish. She still felt embarrassed and disgusted but for the sake of peace and sanity in her life she HAD to get continue with this job. Slowly and dreading what her meeting with Robbie would be like a again, she made her way to his room...
She knocked, carefully listening for his reply. After a pause she heard a muffled "come in" from Robbie. She opened the door slowly and walked in where she saw Robbie sitting near his percussion base trying to compose music for his next single. He was wearing a red t-shirt that showed off his well toned muscles and blue genes. He seemed to be concentrating really hard and Kasturi really didn't want to disturb him... "Sir" said Kasturi in a small voice. Robbie looked up from his notes and realised it was Kasturi. White hot anger sped right through him as he saw Kasturi dressed in her baby pink salwaar kameez, standing near his door "Ohhh! Toh tum finally aagayi! I mean kya timing hain! 10.00pm?! A middle-class ladki in my -Robbie Sabbarawaal's- room" sneered Robbie. Kasturi looked down in shame and disgust, colour rising to her face. The pain of her migrain seemed to have been put on hold as she had this 'confrontation' with Robbie. Robbie got up chucking his notes on his steat. "Kya chati hoon?" snarled Robbie advancing on Kasturi. Kasturi's eyes widened with fear at his actions. "I mean if it's one *special* night you want with me, then come on baby! I'm ready for you" continued Robbie with that same sneer planted across his face. Before he could get any closer to Kasturi, she had spoken: "Wahi Wahi pe ruk jao Robbie sir!". "Do NOT come any further sir!" Kasturi said sternly. "You can't tell me what you do *miss Chawla*". snarled Robbie. "In case you're forgetting, you're in MY room! And I do whatever I want with whatever that's in it, in my room" he continued in arrogance. Hearing these words Kasturis' heart sped up. She was in fear and she did not know what to do. For each step he took forward, she took one back til... *SPLASH*... ice-cold water came pouring down on Kasturi from nowhere! She was soaked; the clip board full of Robbies important schedules were drenched too. Kasturi gasped in shock. "Ah! sss...sir?!" she breathed. Water was everywhere. Her hair had glued to her face, covering her eyes. As she moved her hair away from her face she shivered. The water was so cold. She saw Robbie chuckle. Water had drenched her clothes, allowing full view of her under clothes. Her dupatta did no justice to cover her up. She realised Robbie was staring at her. She felt very uncomfortable, however a new emotion was coursing through her now: It was anger! "Sir?!" she questioned in a stern voice. Robbie looked at her in mock fear. "Well *Miss* Chawla, first of all let me tell you one thing! Your choice of... hmm... 'under clothes' lets just say is SO tacky!! I think you ought to think twice before you put ANY on infact!" he sneered. Kasturi gasped, she was shivering really badly now, all she could do however was cover herself up with her arms. "Also, You are SO not my type! So darr ne ke koi zaroorat nahi hain" He growled looked up and down at her in disgust. Kasturi looked down in shame tears stinging her eyes. "Lekin lekin, what will the duniya walo say?! A middle class ladki drenched here in water- in Robbie Sabbarawaal's room 10.00pm at *night*... vaah! imagine the shame" he said in glory. Tears were now pouring down her cold face.
"Boh..ot hogayi sir! Main... mmmmain yya...yaha aayi thi zaroor! Bbbut for nnnot what yyy...ou think it is!! I came hhhere to re...re...re-schedule your apppp..pointments! But looks like you don't care!" stammered Kasturi. Her shivers were so evident now even Robbie looked slightly concerned. (Before she could notice anything he composed himself quickly and resorted to a sneer). "If yyyou wantt..ed to emba.. rrass me tohh ha..haan, yyou have! I dd..don't ww..want to work here anymore. It wasss out of necessity thattt I came to wwwork here- NOT out of choice!! Aaand sir, I would nnnever go for a person like you eithhhher! she stammered her voice dropping further. Robbie looked at her in disgust.
With that, she threw the clip board on the floor and made to walk out of his room. Just then Devika maam walked in. Taking in the whole scene, her eyes widened in shock. "Oh My GOD! What happened here! And Kasturi why are you so wet?!!!" she screeched. "n..no..nothing maam, I...I...I jjjust dddon't wwant to wwork hhhere annnyyy more!" She stammered. Devika was just able to get that. "Oh my god, you're shivering!! Come come let me give you some warm clothes and we can discuss this" she said in concern. "nnoo maam, it'sss oo..ok!" said Kasturi. "I'll leave...". "Oh shutup Kasturi, you can't go out like this! You'll die in the cold. Chal meri saath! I won't here one more word!!" Devika maam interjected. She turned to Robbie and said "I'll sort you out later young man!! You're in trouble!", and walked out with Kasturi.
"YES!!!" Yelled Robbie throwing his fist in the air! He had succeeded in kicking Kasturi out! "Jackpot achieved, now for some celebration" he said to himself gleefully walking to his bar and helping himself to an alcoholic beverage.
Set-back: It's 12.00 midnight!! Kasturi is now dry, feeling much better (and her shivering has stopped). She's in Devika maam's office discussing her future in the job... "Maam, I can't do this anymore. I can't work with Robbie anymore. This is just too much. I want to leave before anything worse happens." said Kasturi. Devika maam, tried to say something but before she could, Kasturi had already spoken, "please maam, kuch mat kahi ye! I have made up my mind!" said Kasturi getting up to leave. Devika could do nothing. Accepting defeat, she stood up with Kasturi and said "Teek hain Kasturi whatever your heart tells you. You're free to go". Kasturi thanked Devika maam, she also promised to return the clothes she was wearing the next day and walked out of the room. Right now Devika was so annoyed with her son for doing this. She couldn't believe she was losing one capable worker...
On her way home, Kasturi felt much elated now that she had left that work place. However a bigger burden was coming upon her 'paying back the phone money'. How on earth was she going to do this. She was in deep thought and concern till she reached her door. Strangely however, all lights had been turned off (even though it was at 1.00am in the morning, something didn't seem right). Worried, Kasturi rushed in. "Muktiiii" she called out, turing on the lights. She heard nothing! Now she was beginning to really worry. 'Where is she?!' Kasturi thought to herself as she walked around looking for her. She went to the bedroom and her heart relaxed a little. Mukti laid there on her bed. She seemed fast asleep. "Thank God, she's alright! At least she's resting!". She went up to the bed and Sat right next to Mukti. "Mukti" She called. "I'm home!!" said Kasturi smiling. "ei, wake up! I want to know how you're feeling".
But Mukti did not move, nor did she speak. Concerned, Kasturi shook her slightly. As she touched her, she had to pull her hands back in shock! "Oh My God, bukaar!" Indeed Mukti was boiling! She wasn't even responding to Kasturi. Kasturi jumped up and ran out of the apartment to look for help. A few minutes later, she came back with a couple people and a car ready to take Mukti to hospital. Kasturi was crying. She really hoped nothing was going to happen to Mukti...
Set-back: Kasturi is admitting Mukti to hospital. What on earth will happen to them both?!! In the hospital, as she filled in all the necessary admission forms, a doctor dressed in a white coat came up to her. "Mukti tumhari dhost hain na?!" he asked. Kasturi nodded. "Ji" she replied. "nothing will happen to her right?!" shrieked Kasturi. I mean I tried calling her parents but they are not reachable. I'll keep trying doctor." she continued. She was panicking. She had noone to talk to or gain sympathy from. "No no, that's not the problem right now. We've found a cyst in her stomach, that what has been causing these continuous pains." said the doctor sternly. "continuous matlab, she has been having these pains for quite a while?!" asked a shocked Kasturi. The Doctor nodded. "We must operate immediately! If you could organise 100k in total for the whole operation! please and immediately, because the operation cannot wait! She will die!" said the Doctor and walked off.
Kasturi stood there shell shocked. Tears were streaming down her face... "My dearest friend Mukti! Dying?" ... "100k?! Where am I going to find such a large sum from?" cried Kasturi...
And that's where I leave it!!😃 I hope you enjoyed that. Took me quite a while to think of a plot for this chapter. Could it be the end for poor Mukti?! 😭 Will Kasturi be able to save her friend, as she already left her well paid job! Seems unlikely they'll take her back in...Edited by Niki_18 - 17 years ago
