Nearly at 7 pm Jai's car came at Walia mansion to pick Bani up. Suddenly some work came because of which he could come and hence send the car saying that they will directly meet at hotel. Everybody started shouted at Bani to be ready, Anu started arranging her clothes, Jigyasa was checking her make up and Masi was saying to hurry up, as her munna would be waiting for her. Finally after taking everyone blessings, at 7:45 she reached hotel. She was led by manager to where Jai was.
As Jai turned around there he saw her gorgeous wife standing. On her beautiful black sari with silver stone and crystal all over the sari, halter black blouse with bead works on its lining she was looking stunning. She was looking like the first dewdrop on the rose petal. The blend of her innocence and beauty was making her much more attractive of which she was unaware herself.
As she saw Jai both of them looked each other for brief second and tried to smile but losing the attempt. Jai came forward and led her to the table. He pulled the chair, made her sit and went to sit down himself. They were sitting in private room. It was beautifully decorated, low light of aromatic candles spreding its smell everywhere and low romantic music filling the left space. For any couple it would be dream to dine in each other presence but Jai and Bani weren't lucky enough to enjoy it.
None of them spoke even a word and finally waiter broke the silence. Jai urged Bani to order but she declined saying that she would like to eat whatever he ordered so finally Jai ordered the food. After the waiter went silence filled the room again which was unbearable to both of them. Jai was the first one to break the silence and asked about how she is feeling at home. Slowly slowly they keep on talking and asking simple question about their daily life but didn't speak about their relation or their past. After some time Waiter came with food and they both eat in silence with occasional talking.
After the dinner was done Jai asked Bani for dance and Bani with smile agreed for it. Jai held Bani's one hand and gently placed other one at her waist whereas she placed on his shoulder. Both of them were swaying smoothly with the music. After some time the song finished and another song played.
"tere bin main kaise jiya" from Bas ek pal.
As the song started Bani's hold on Jai's shoulder got tighter. It was her song. She can see her laughing and teasing. She no longer saw Jai and soon the song got replaced by her laughter She can hear her singing this song.
"tere bin min ye kaise jiya kaise jiya"
"Tanha hain tuj bin rate meri"
There she saw both of them. She and him dancing, partying, laughing, enjoying in their own world. There were only lights and lights. Then she heard a scream, blood, her lying body and her last painful word calling her. The whole world is now revolving. Bani saw different things blended and mixed together. Her smiling face, her twinkling eyes, her sad and painful face, his scary laugh. Laughter, song, screams, she was hearing all at once.
Bani pushed Jai with all her might and ran way. She keep on running and running oblivious to world. Jai was running behind her calling her but she didn't care. She was running through corridor, stairs. Her sari achal got stuck on the railing of stair but she didn't care. It got ripped but she keep on running with her hands closing her ears and shaking her head vigorously. She came out of the hotel and was running toward road. She didn't see the car moving towards her in high speed before. She was suddenly pulled by a strong force backward. She was suddenly out of her dream. She saw Jai looking at her with raging eyes. He shaked her vigorously and shouted.
"Pagal hogae ho kya?. Is tarah pagalo ki tarah kaha bag rahi thi? Dekhae nahi deta samne gadi ate huwe? Agar kuch hojata to?"
She hugged Jai and started crying ashamedly. Jai was totally confused creature now. He had no idea why his wife is behaving like this. He keep on asking what happen but she was just catching his suit collar and crying on his chest.
"Bani! Bani! Kya huwa? Bani ro kyu rahi ho? Bataugi nahi? Bani!"
He hugged her tightly. He couldn't see her suffering like this. After a long time Bani spoke:
Pia Dixit, the most cheerful girl in Mt. Abu. She and her sister Bani Dixit were known as the pranksters. Whenever they were together people knew trouble was near their doorstep. Tyre punchers, breaking of glass, insects in food were normal in their locality. People were tired of their pranks but nevertheless people loved them because whenever there was any kind of problem they would be the first one to help. They were always together. People fondly used to call them "Beli and Chameli" and used to say that they will marry also together but that dint happen.
Pia fell in love with her new classmate Pushkar Shukla. Pia was afraid to tell Bani because one she will kill her for not telling her earlier and two if she knows whole Mt. Abu will know about it and same thing happened. Their love story was spread all through the Mt. Abu and soon their engagement date was fixed. Pia was over the moon, Bani was really happy for sister and their parents, they were excited out of control.
Bani can see how much her sister loves Pushkar. Once Bani had seen Pia talking to Pushkar's photo and singing the song.
"Tere bin". That's it. That was end of Pia. Every people in her locality use to sing that song whenever they saw Pia. Their engagement was the happiest moment. Whole Mt. Abu was there to bless them and participate in their happiness. All the people had sung the same song and had made Pia Pushkar dance in it.
One fine evening, it was nearly midnight Pia hadn't returned home. She had gone to Pushkar's house in the morning but when they called him he said that he hasn't meet her since yesterday afternoon. All of them were getting worried. Police were informed, her parents had gone to search and Bani couldn't stay still. She went to Pushkar's house to search Pia along with him. As she approached his house she heard some screams. As she went near she could hear it clearly and found out it was her sister's voice. Bani started running and banged on Pushkar's door. The door was locked but she didn't give up. She keep on banging until it broke and inside she saw Pia's body lying on floor soaked in blood. Her clothes were ripped. Before she could reach there Pia breathe her last breath saying.
"Bani".
Bani stood motionless there. She slowly went near Pia and touched her. She kept on looking the blood at her fingers. After sometime Pushkar came. He had gone upstairs to manage Pia's body. He was shocked seeing Bani there.
"Ye kya hai Pushkar" asked Bani.
Pushkar didn't reply.
"Pu… Pushkar… tum ne meri didi ko…kyu?" she started crying. "Main abhi papa ko bulati hu" saying that she ran toward door but Pushkar was faster she grabbed Bani's hand, pulled backward and closed the door.
"Ha mara maine tumhari didi. Kyunki mujhe ab iski koi jarurat nahin thi. Jo iske paas that maine leliya. Paisa, jawani sab kuch. Jab mujhe Dixit's ke property ke bare main pata chala to main ise hasil karne ki plan soch rahatha. Tabhi muje ye pata chala ke tumhare papa ne apna adha jayadad(property) saadi ke baad uske pati ke naam kiya hain. Phir kya main yaha aya aur is bewakuf(foolish) Pia ko apne pyaar ke jal main fasaya. Iski property to mujhe kab ke mil gae thi engagement ke baad lekin ye jo bhuk hain na wo mitani baki thi. Bohot din se try kar raha tha lekin Saadi ke bad saadi bad keh keh kar dimaag kharab kardiya isne. lekin aaj maine ye bhi hasil karli" saying that he started laughing loudly.
"Lekin ab phir se ek problem agayi, tum. Umm.. Ab tumhara kya kare?" saying that he started he started scratching his hair.
"Haa wohi jo Pia ka kiya . Akhir tum bhi to kuch kam nahin" saying that he advanced toward Bani and grabbed her waist. Bani punched him, bitted him but all her protest went in vain. He was much stronger; he hardly kissed her, bit her and ruthlessly ripped her cloth. Her top's sleeve came out and suddenly her father entered there with Police. Someone informed Nishikant that he had seen Pia going to Pushkar's house this morning.
Police arrested Pushkar and judge decided against Pushkar for lifetime imprisonment. Pia was the only one who was dead but Nishikant lost his both daughters. Bani went to her shell. Never spoke with anyone. Nishikant and Kiran tried very hard to bring her back to her usual self-but wasn't successful. They were successful to bring her out of her silent mode but she always had made a wall around herself. At last they couldn't think of anything and married her thinking her husband will help her break that wall, live life again and trust in life.
Bani was quite now but was silently sobbing on his chest. Jai didn't know what to do. He couldn't believe Bani had suffered this much in her life. Now he knows her reluctance in marriage, her behaviour towards him. He slowly moved Bani back and froth. After sometime she felt asleep. He carried her to his car, covered with his jacket and drove back home.
I am done now. I hope raaz was upto ur expection. Hope u enjoyed reading it. Eagerly waiting for ur replys. After reading Dhani's "The grain of sand" I wanted Tarun instead of Pushkar but what to do I had already mentioned him earlier so wasnt able to do that.😆
