Well today is a special day for JBians so just wrote down whatever came to my mind to celebrate it in my way. The plot has been taken from the show itself after the famous
Goddamit thing! I am sorry to use the word but since it bears relevance in the story and in the plot so I had to. The scenes are some made up, some modified and some taken completely from the show. Hope you like reading this version😃

Kuch kehna tha shayad Koi rehta hai
Mere dil mein
Kuch kehta hai
Mere dil mein
Suno dil ki dhadkan janejaa
Bechain hai yeh mann janejaa Jai Walia looked from his side of the bed to the other side. He saw his wife sleeping, her head on her arms and her back towards him. There was no denying of the fact that she was his wife in his eyes…he himself admitted that day in frustration in his own style..
Goddamit! You are my wife! He stayed there still, looking at her direction longer than the time he ever thought of spending idly after waking up. Her slight movements disturbed his concentration. He turned his face but didn't get down from the bed. Lying awake he put his arms beneath his head and stared at the ceiling.
Koi rehta hai
Mere dil mein
Kuch kehta hai
Mere dil mein
Suno dil ki dhadkan saajna
Bechain hai yeh mann saajna Sensing slight movement on the other side Bani stopped her movement and tried to stay in the position where she stopped. She thought that may be her movements disturbed HIS sleep. Although she felt sleepy, she couldn't sleep. Every time her eyes closed, the thought of seeing HIS face woke her up. Finally she gave up and got down from the bed. She pretended to look at the table clock at his side but couldn't move her eyes to it when they met his face. It seemed to her as if he had just closed his eyes in a hurry.
Was he awake? Bani fiddled with her thoughts for a while and finally moved out of the room but not before seeing his face for a whole minute as if memorizing it.
Jai opened his eyes after he was assured that the door was closed and Bani was out of the room. He could still see her standing there, in front of the bed unwantedly awake and in some dilemma. He looked towards the door hoping she would return but after few impatient minutes he gave up the idea and finally left the bed.
Doing his usual stuff, his mind always wandered to the word 'wife'! Somehow since the morning the word didn't leave his thoughts. Just the previous day he reminded her that their marriage was a compromise but was that the only thing they could think of their marriage? He was confused and suddenly irritated.
Downstairs he saw Bani busy with setting breakfast for the family. Since Masi was at home, he knew that there was no chance of Bani going to office. He felt disappointed but why or for what he couldn't understand. He avoided looking at her yet caught her glimpse every now and then. She was not even looking at him for once. Only sometimes she asked whether if he needed any food. Was their relationship just about being courteous and that too more from Bani's side?
Is she just trying to keep the relationship such that it ends in a good note? He felt confused and left for office.
Jaagti aankhon khwab dikhaye Jai Walia was in his office. Working away with his files, suddenly his mind drifted to Bani. Some of the usual situations in which they were like that morning, or when he helped her tie the strings, he found them imprinted in his memories though he never tried to remember them. A good amount of time was lost in thinking just about her.
Saari raina neend na aaye Waiting for Masi to finish her daily routine of reciting prayers, Bani was lost in thinking how difficult it has become to get sleep at night. How many hours she spends at her side of bed lying just awake feeling uneasy at the thought of having the love of her life beside her but not being able to share his thoughts and feelings. The ringing of bells broke her thoughts.
Ek jhalak dekhoon chhip jaye Jai Walia was in his usual work of surveying the hotel. His eyes caught the glimpse of a lady wearing a yellow coloured Sari in a distance. Immediately his heart escaped a beat as he expected that lady to be Bani. He walked in her direction but before reaching her, she was gone upstairs. He finished his survey quickly, almost abruptly and went back to his office. Impatiently he waited for something, may be someone. It took him an hour to realize that the person he expected to visit him didn't come to visit him at all.
But why would Bani do that? he wondered.
Saaya bankar phir lehraaye For the umpteenth time Bani had the urge to arrange her Mr. Walia's clothes for the evening though there was time for his return. Usually she stays at the office so never had to fall in such situation but being at home, her mind always reeled to his return. She turned to see the clock hands strike 3! She sighed.
Apnaya sapna hai wo While listening to Dadi and Masi's chat, Bani's eyes went towards the door as the clock struck 7. She imagined him entering the house discussing on something with Aditya Uncle with a serious expression and then giving a precious smile as Aditya Uncle would ask him to stop discussing about work. She smiled thinking how she knew every such detail and waited for the imagination to come true soon. She was getting a bit impatient.

Jai Walia was in his study getting lost from work for the second time in the day. A sudden knock on the door alerted him. He looked up to find Bani peeping from the door and then leaving mumbling a quick 'sorry'.
Jiska hua yeh dil deewaana Before he could stop her, she left.
I was not that busy he argued with himself as he didn't like her leaving him without saying a word. His eyes roamed on the meaningless words in front of him in the files. Another knock on the door just made him angrier. Without looking up he said,
"I am Busy" in a stern voice.
Usney dil ka raaz na jaana Even after coming back from office, Mr. Walia had locked up himself in his study after having a chat with the elders of the family that too when she was away for some work. Hardly did Bani get to see him for a whole single minute.
Don't I have the right to have his company? Bani thought.
Kaise kahein kaise samjhaaye After dinner Jai Walia was back to his study. That was a place where he found ultimate solitude and peace. No! peace was a long lost word in the study. The little turmoil in his heart regarding Bani didn't leave him with much peace. He had been thinking about her seriously for some days, he only realized the fact lately. But yes he felt at peace in her company. Bani came to the study to do some paper work but noticing Mr. Walia sitting in the dim light in the study she hesitatingly started to go back. Jai Walia switched on the lights and asked her to stop and take a seat. Looking at the papers he knew that she had some work to do. Angrily he asked,
"Why did you come last time?" Pyaar na jaane wo anjaana Smiling on her own she replied mischievously,
"Kuch kehna tha shayad". Mr. Walia just stared at her. He nodded his head and then asked her to do her work while he read a book. So many times Bani looked at him as he was absorbed in his reading. As much as she loved to spend her life just looking at him at that moment so was she scared of being caught staring. Seeing that none of her work was done fruitfully, she got up. Mr. Walia immediately closed his book and asked her to sit. As she waited for him to say something for which may be stopped her, he sat opposite to her and went through his files casually looking at her seldom. After a long hour of silence Mr. Walia got up. Bani interrupted,
"Can I know why you stopped me from going?" The sweetness in her voice reminded something Mr. Walia. He replied,
"Kuch kehna tha shayad." Dhadkan hai ek dil hai wo Did she just blush? Jai Walia wondered as she smiled at his reply. Whatever it was, he realized that he liked to see her like that and in recent past there were several occasions when he found her blushing!! He found his peace for that moment. He wanted her to smile always not only for her but also because he loved to watch her like that..yes he loved to watch her like that.
Koi rehta hai
Mere dil mein
Kuch kehta hai
Mere dil mein
Suno dil ki dhadkan janejaa
Bechain hai yeh mann janejaa Jai Walia was sleeping peacefully when he felt a hand on his hand. In a half asleep state he looked to find Bani's hand mistakenly reaching his hands on his chest in sleep. His heart started to beat faster and he got widely awake. Slowly he held her fingers and let her hand rest where it was. He wanted her to listen to his heartbeat. He didn't know why but he wanted to share the restlessness of his heart and soul to her. Letting her hand free was not even in the prospects until she woke up.
Koi rehta hai
Mere dil mein
Kuch kehta hai
Mere dil mein
Suno dil ki dhadkan saajna
Bechain hai yeh mann saajna Bani realized that her hand was at some odd place. She opened her eyes and saw the unbelievable and something that she even didn't dare to dream of. Mr. Walia was holding her hand which was feeling each beat of his heart. An attempt to withdraw her hands was the immediate thing she could think of but that would disturb his sleep, the very thought kept her unmoved. She closed her eyes enjoying the rhythm of his heartbeat which matched her own..erratic yet peaceful.
****************
Days passed by as the feeling of closeness grew in leaps and bounds. But when you feel so close to someone then the minutest of thing hurt you and bigger things just break you.
It was the occasion of the engagement ceremony of Jai Walia's niece and nephew. Since the evening Jai Walia hurt Bani indirectly. Firstly by presenting his ex-girlfriend the clothes and ornaments that Masi asked him to give to Bani, secondly by dancing with his ex in the ceremony and lastly and most importantly may be spending his time with that lady for the rest of the evening, all alone.
Bani knew that her marriage had no importance like other marriages. She knew that she and her Mr. Walia were destined to be separated but that was one thing that even she accepted, she never wanted to think of, because it hurt. It hurt a lot to think of not having him in her life but more than that it hurt to witness him being with his ex, as any wife would, as any lover would. It was not her right to be hurt because of their marriage but because of the world she built around him. How could she even bear to think of him being with any other woman? In such a marriage for just name, she had no reason to feel hurt, no reason to cry. She knew after that she had to leave his world as soon as possible because he doesn't need her in his life. Even she doesn't need him she thought to feel less pain. But that thought even hurt her more. How could she even dream of not having him around in her life! Her head split in pain and from the confusion arising from her heart.
Jai Walia when found that her wife had left the party for home without even informing him, he immediately left for home. He felt angry as she didn't inform him. Was he so unimportant that she couldn't wait to inform him and went away all alone? Didn't he worry for her? Didn't she for once think how he would feel on not finding her in the party? Then concern grew as he neared the house because he knew Bani would never do such thing without any good reason. When he reached their room, he saw her standing by the window. She was all alone in the house. Everything seemed normal. He slowly stepped in and when he saw her turn a bit and realizing his presence yet looking unmoved, his anger started growing. Controlling his anger without even looking at her he asked her slowly yet firmly why she left the party. Hearing no reply he pointed out that he had asked a question and then repeated it.
Bani appeared a little lost, a little unwell as she said that she wasn't feeling well and he shouldn't have left the party. Concerned Jai Walia went towards her and asked her to explain what had happened to her. She answered slowly what she felt about her feeling unwell and then with forceful voice she asked him to leave as he was very important. Jai Walia couldn't make sense about what she was talking about as she carried on babbling but in pain. He couldn't understand what to do. He wanted to know what was bothering her as it hurt him to see her so helpless, so much in pain. Yes pain. The pain was reflected in her eyes, her tears, her incomprehensible words. He just wanted to wipe it away but got no heads or tails of from where to start. He took few attempts to calm her down but her rebellious being at that moment mixed with her pain was too strong for him and he didn't want to hurt her more by being equally rebellious.
On the first occasion when she mentioned about him and his ex indirectly he was too lost in making her calm down to realize. Second time when she repeated it crying like a child, Jai Walia understood the reason of her anger and may be her pain. He explained to her that her assumptions about him were wrong. She seemed to calm down but not only because she believed what he said then but also because she was relieved to share her cause of pain and misery with the person in concern.
Jai Walia saw Bani in a new light. His words were not sufficient to make her believe that only she as a wife had a right on him. He had to prove it to her then and there; otherwise his life will be meaningless without letting her know her importance in his life and her place in his heart. Hesitating to be so close to her purposefully, he carefully stood close to her and moved away the strand of hair that came in between them with as much care as he could. With utmost gentleness he firstly wiped her tears. Bani felt at peace with the grief dying down with his concern for her that had no words but had the feel. As he progressed to promise of faith in their relationship, Bani's senses lost their way, their rhythm. With every passing moment, with his every gentle touch he promised their togetherness which then seemed to be for eternity. Slowly Bani found her surrendering to feelings that she never knew to exist but whose origin lay deep down in her heart for a long time. Not driven by earthly pleasures but moved by his own need to show how much he cared for her, how much she meant for him and how deeply he loved her, Jai Walia proceeded to begin a new chapter in his and Bani's life with a heartfelt obligation to the vows of marriage.
Bani woke up in the middle of the night. Everything seemed new. After a brief smile seeing Mr. Walia sleeping peacefully she got down and stood by the window staring aimlessly at the moonlit garden or at the moonlit sky. Jai Walia suddenly felt a change in his surrounding as something near him or may be someone near him moved away. In his sleepy state he scanned beside him with his hands to realize his wife missing. His eyes straight went to the window where he saw Bani looking outside half sitting half standing by the window.
Kabhi dil ke kareeb
Tumhe mere naseeb
Yun layenge
Socha na tha
Ek chahat ka pal
Sab sawaalon ka hal
Yun payenge
Socha na tha He smiled seeing her enjoying solitude as it gave him pleasure to see her at may be in so much of peace. Everything gave him pleasure, everything around him made him happy as his heart was contented and filled with the joy, with love, with happiness, with satisfaction.
Aankhein jo ab
Meri aankhon mein hai
Dhoond raha tha
Kayee saalon se main
Kitni milti hai aankhein ye
Khwabo se mere khayalon se
Ke hakikat mein hum
Sapno ka sanam
Yun payenge
Socha na tha Bani suddenly yet slowly turned to face him. Their eyes met and Jai Walia found the answers to his unanswered queries. He knew that they were destined to be together not by compromise or obligation but by the bond of love. He felt happy to finally realize to know who his soulmate was but at the same time felt embarrassed to realize it so late and under circumstances that might be misinterpreted.
Kabhi tanha baithe baithe yunhi
Pal mein hi main gum ho jaati thi
Main bhi kahaan main rehti thi
Aksar main tum ho jaati thi
Ye ajab si khata
Aur uski sajaa
Yun payenge
Socha na tha Bani felt at peace till the moment she didn't turn to face Jai Walia. Actually she didn't expect him to be awake, so that she could organize her thoughts. But rather unfortunately her eyes met his which stared at her. She couldn't make out what was he thinking but despite the voices of confidence from her newly found being, the Bani who was now more afraid of a heartbreak gained voice. She didn't want the time to come hear him think otherwise of what happened. A part of her challenged that that was the look of love, every moment that he made her feel a part of him that was all because he loved her. She wanted to believe it but never was he so clear about his feelings, how could she believe then just because of few moments of concern and passion!
Jai Walia got down from the bed and stood by the window. He was confused not of his feelings but of Bani's feelings! No her eyes can't betray. He knew she loved him. He just knew it. May be due to the sudden change in their relationship she appeared confused. He put his hand on hers that ignited fear as well as happiness in her eyes. Mr. Walia said,
"Bani, aaj mujhe bahut kuch kehna hai".
Bani lowered her eyes remembering the day when she had a false hope that Mr. Walia would talk about any feelings for her but instead he talked about their divorce that day. With much strength she controlled her tears from falling. Jai Walia pressed her hand with affection and pleaded softly,
"Look at me Bani". Trying to appear unaffected she looked up with renewed courage. But is it possible for a person to appear strong always? Every person have their weakness, every person appear weak at some point of time in their life. That was not just the day for Bani to feel strong in front of Mr. Walia. As soon as she looked at him, she knew she had to escape from the situation, she had no strength left to discuss about their marriage, their relationship at that moment. Jai Walia held her hand strongly and said,
"Bani tell me why did it take me so long to realize my feelings for you!" Bani couldn't believe her ears; she was astonished at his question. Looking at her wide puzzled eyes Jai Walia said,
"Answer me Bani. Answer me." Bani tried to say something but what was she supposed to say she didn't know. She kept quiet and waited for him to be clear about what he wanted to say. She didn't have the courage to build hopes.
Jai Walia said in a resigned voice,
"It's all my fault. I didn't want to fall in love for the fear of heartbreak but never knew that with every moment spent with you I was finding my way for true love." Bani surprised at his confession couldn't understand whether to be happy for her or to be sad for his resigned feeling. She just couldn't keep her hands beneath his and tried to move it away. Jai Walia immediately held it and asked with anxiety,
"Bani do you still love me? Now I wish to make up for all the precious time we lost and build a new future together but not without your consent. If you don't feel me worthy of your love anymore then I won't force you to be in the relationship and will be happy thinking that once upon a time even I was worthy of your love." Slowly Bani asked,
"How did you know that…." she couldn't complete her sentence. She felt as if everything was a dream and her slightest of excitement will break the beautiful dream. Jai Walia tilted his head and said,
"Lift your eyes Bani and look at me." She looked with hope and fear. Jai Walia smiled and said,
"They told me everytime but I learnt the language to read them just now because even my eyes can now speak clearly that very language. Can't you read it? Can't you feel it?" Jai Walia's voice became pleading and anxious. Then with a feeling of fear and doubt he asked,
"You won't leave me, na?" Bani hugged him with all her might and could just utter 'Never' as she burst out crying in joy and happiness. The rest of the night was spent in the silent but most beautiful company imaginable of each other, both struggling to put words to their feelings but couldn't express. Too much of happiness of having found their soulmates prevented them from having coherent thoughts. Both of them dreamt with open eyes of spending the rest of their life together, hands in hands.
****************
Few days later
Bani was sitting at the front seat of the car. Mr. Walia was driving. He was accompanying her to do some shopping for the upcoming weddings of his niece and nephew. The reserved feeling still existed between the two; it needed time to go away completely but at least there was no doubt left regarding each other's feelings. Bani was looking at Mr. Walia who was driving the car in his own silent manner, sometimes smiling at her, sometimes smiling at some little incident on the streets. After they reached the parking lot of the shopping mall, after parking the car Jai Walia opened the door of Bani's side. Locking the car as Jai Walia stepped ahead of Bani, he heard her call out 'Mr. Walia'! He turned but when she didn't reply for a few seconds he got curious. He smilingly asked,
"What?" Bani shook her head in negative and blushingly said,
"Kuch kehna tha shayad!" He had to smile. He retraced his steps and went near her. He gently said,
"Bani we shouldn't hide anything from each other now. Tell me kya kehna tha." Bani walked past him saying softly,
"I love you." "Oh! Ye to main jaanta hoon." came Mr. Walia's unaffected voice from behind. Bani just began to feel bad for daring to say what was in her heart as she could feel that it wasn't received by Mr. Walia as she hoped him to. But then a soothing whispered in her ears,
"Par tumhare mooh se sunke bahut achha laga." she turned to see the smiling face of Mr. Walia err…her husband.
Seene mein dil hai
Dil mein hai dhadkan
Dhadkan mein hai tu hi tu
Hai meri pehli tamanna
Hai meri aakhri arzoo
I love you
I love you *************
