For last one week Bani's routine was the same, she was in short bored to death. Initially she observed Roshni and Jai, while Roshni looked chilled out, Bani could feel Jai's discomfort, which Bani understood nevertheless failed to understand why did he get married to her in the first place, he could have easily hired someone to have his child….Roshni's behaviour surprised Bani a great deal…what is this woman made of…she wondered….does she have any feeling towards her husband, how can she be so casual / unperturbed when a woman present in her house is supposed to be her husband's second wife or is she too confident about Jai Walia's love and loyalty for her, if that is the case then Buaji bekar me mere shaadi kara di, 7 din me toh ek bi bar mere kamre tak nehi aya, subah ankhe utha ke dekhne ki sewa aur kuch nehi karte…

Bani looked at the advertisement once again, well maybe she should give it a try…

Well he had planned to take Bani out, it would have been easier for them to relax and communicate with each other with Ma and Roshni hovering around not to say about Jigyasa and Aditya . Jigyasa, his sister is still yet to come into terms regarding his 2nd marriage…cannot blame her really, infact he still cannot believe that he had a 2nd wife, which he is yet to inform to his friends and other relatives….yeh keya ho gaya mujhe, thought Jai, I am hiding things or am I trying to escape from reality, kiyu…kisliye….

His mobile started ringing, it was Roshni, Jai darling, can you come and pick me up….

Kiyu keya ho gaya Rosh weren't you suppose to stay for the night….

Ha lekin …Sonali is here too and it seems I have to share the room with her….share my foot, other than my husband I share my room with no one, lekin there is a shortage toh keya kare, I want to go back, you know I came with Meghna….

Jai smiled, Roshni hated sharing rooms aur Sonali ke saath toh kabhi nehi, Sonali was their college mate and one time had tried to woo him away….

Theek hai, but not before 2 hours at least with the traffic…

After settling the fare Bani found out the flat no. and then climbed up…it was an ordinary building, the walls were not the cleanest as the corners of the staircase were stained with pan spit …Bani took two steps at a time to come in front of the designated door and rang the calling bell…

Pia opened it, looking very haggard and tired but delighted to see Bani….

They hugged for sometime…baith me chai banati hu Pia pushed her on the ethnic looking divan and hopped off towards the kitchen….

Bani looked around…the room was freshly painted it was a the sitting room, that must be then kitchen, and the one next to it bedroom…

Pia came out carrying a tray with two cups….

Bahut sundar ghar hai, Piadi…kitne bedroom hai….

Baas jo hai yeh hi hai Bani, one hall kitchen…woh bathroom hai….

Bani was surprised, she had heard her Jija was the Store's Manager of a big jewelry shop with good salary…

Waise maath dekho Bani yeh Mumbai hai, Ajit ne mujhe option diya tha what do I want to stay in the suburb or in heart of the city…Ajit ke shop pass me hi hai, aur iss ghar me woh suru se reh raha hai, so I chose to stay here… thora painting aur cleaning ka jaroorat tha…you understand na, bachelor apartment se family apartment jo banana tha…bass jab se honeymoon se lauti hu, yeh hi kar rahi hu…kaise lag rahe hai…

Bani looked around again, yes it was small but beautiful, everything was put lovingly together, she saw the small details, nothing for over the top, simple yet tasteful, the wall hanging, the chimes, the bedcover and the colourful cushions, Pia took Bani around the house, explaining from where she got what and where to get good bargain, Bani listened with a smile on her lips suddenly feeling very jealous…they got married the same day with a difference of few hours…their lives were so different, Pia was the queen of her house, Bani well, she had everything, all the comforts and the luxuries but yet to be the wife of her husband…

Thanks Jayati for this great part. So Bani is going to start working at the restaurant. Hope the Walias wouldn't go against her decision. But still felt bad for her. People like Buaji make me terribly angry, somehow shw reminds me Moti Maa in KS who doesn't look beyond Jeet. She blithely demands the hopes and aspirations of a young girl simply coz an upwardly mobile working woman doesn't want to bear a child for her hubby, if he's ok with it who the hell is buaji to interfere. With all the maturity that comes with seniority doesn't she know that 3 lives will be thrown into disarray?? This kind of thinking is so regressive, but sadly a reality specially in rural India. Thanx Tinni for bringing the JB spotlight on a social evil rampant in this country.

People like Buaji who think they know everything, yet don't think twice before runing lives through their ideas should not be listened to. 😡 In this case, Bani's life has been thoroughly ruined. She does not get an iota of attention. Roshni it seems has taken a trip to Mars for coming up with such a scheme in getting her husband married off and JW is being a coward in still not facing the reality.

Am glad that Bani has stepped out of the house and taken up a job. Can so understand her feelings when she sees her older sister happy in a small yet homely apartment, whereas she is living in a mansion yet is not receiving any attention from her husband.
