Ding Dong the bell rang nervously they put their hands down and waited for the door to open.
Anu: Mom I'll get it
Massi: Anu tu baith meh usi taraf ja rahi hoon meh dekhti hoon.
Anu: theek hai Massi
Massi walked over to the door
Jai and Bani's heartbeat was increasing as the clock ticked
Jai 'I don't know why its taking so long, he was sweating'
Bani: Jai you just rung the bell a few seconds ago it takes time then with her pallu she wiped his forehead smiling 'so Mr. Jai Walia is nervous too hunh' while her attention was towards Jai she failed to notice the click of the door opening
Massi opened the door to find a girl standing there her face turned around the other way so she couldn't see her.
Massi: Uhh beta
Bani turned around to see an elderly woman looking at her intently waiting for her to say something.
Massi came forward : kisse milna hai beta, kaun ho tum?
Bani: jee main main Jai she looked to the side where the hel* was Jai?
Massi was waiting for her to say something who was this young girl here, she looked like an angel she thought.
Bani turned around to see Jai standing behind her ducking a little, 'Jai what are you doing here?'
Jai: tumhari saari per kuch laga tha..
She glared at him
Jai: ok ok
He came forward
Massi : Jai
Jai: came forward and hugged her haan Massi main
Massi: beta pata nahi yeh larki kaun hai abhi aye hai
Jai smiled Massi yeh yeh mere saath aye hai.
Massi's eyes widened 'tere saath' she looked from Jai to Bani who had her eyes downcast, and then back at Jai confused
Jai seeing the confusion clearly written on her face, come on its Jai Walia coming home with a beautiful young girl its bound to raise someeyebrows…
Jai: Massi yeh Bani hai; aur Bani yeh hain meri Massi
Coming closer she bent down to touch her feet.
Massi: aree beta yeh kya kar rahi ho, holding her by the shoulder she lifted her up and gently moved her hand over her head 'khush raho'
Bani looked at Jai pleading with her eyes say something wahan chup kyun khare ho
Getting the hint Jai came upfront 'Massi yahin darwaze per baat karni hai andar toh chaliyeh
Massi: oh I sorry beta maine toh tumhe andar ane ko kaha hi nahi, ayo na andar ayo and she turned to go in.
Bani was about to step in when Jai tugged her hand whispering in her ear 'aise nahi' held her hand and they both stepped in together keeping their right foot in the house. They shared a eye lock; quickly breaking apart they followed Massi in the house where the family was gathered.
Jigs was the first one to see Jai 'aree Jai bhaiya aap aa gaye kab se wait' she stopped seeing a girl standing there with Jai and stared at him.
All eyes turned towards Jai and Bani as the center of attraction.
Jai pulled Bani along with him as they approached the middle of the living room.
Massi: ayo beta Bani came forward, yeh Jai ke saath aye hai Bani haina
Adi stood there smiling at a corner and was looking for Anu who had gone to her room to get something
Jai could feel the inquisitive eyes of his family waiting for him to start talking
Dadi : Bani bahut pyara naam hai ayo beta baitho
Bani looked at Jai who smiled at her
She sat down next to dadi soon followed by massi to her other side, she was trapped in between the two mother figures of the family.
Adi came near Jai 'yaar ab yahan kyun budh bana khara hai, ja na dekh bechari ki kya halat ho rahi hai, isse pehle Ma aaur massi apni tehkikat shuru karen please save the poor girl'
They laughed, Massi: Munna tum dono wahan akele akele kya baat kar rahe ho'
Bani giggled 'munna' she found it so cute
Jai came down and kneeled down in front of Massi 'bas asie kuch khaas nahi, Adi bata raha tha ki aab tak bechara bhooka baitha hai meri wageh se , aap log kha lete dekho beechara kitna sukh gaya hai.'
Adi glared at him 'theer ja baad mein milna mujhe'
Massi: asie kaise sub saath khate hain na iss din toh hum sub tera intizaar kar rahe thee lekin tu ye bata yun subah subah kahan chala gaya tha
Jai with a straight face 'apki honewali bahu ko lene gaya tha' very casually he said
Massi: achaa, then it dawned upon her and everyone present 'BAHU'
He expected such reaction, while Bani was taken back with Jai's sudden announcement. Well he too was nervous so seeing the opportuninty he made the most of it.
Jai held his hand out grabbing Bani's gesturing her to get up, securing his hands on her shoulders pointed towards Bani 'Massi Bani' Bani had her fingers crossed 'she shut her eyes'
There was pindrop silence; which was scaring her.
Jai: massi dadi aaj ke din mujhe isse behtar tofa nahi laga ki mah apko de sakta tha
Massi went near Bani and held her face between her palms kissing her forehead and hugged her; Bani was overwhelmed with the love she felt; she broke down crying holding on to her tightly. Massi stroked her head gently. Akhir mera Bahu ka arman pura ho he gaya
Jigs Jai and Adi too had moist eyes
Dadi: Billo dekh na pehle baar Bahu ghar aye hai aaur tune usse rula diya
Dadi: wiped her tears and hugged her too.
It seemed to Bani that she had know them for ages, she had never been loved by her own mother but here she felt content, she had a feeling deep within that she wont ever feel the vacuum of a mother's love ever again.
Dadi: Jai tu toh bara chupa rustam nikla, chupke chupke apne liye larki bhi dhoond li aaur hume pata bhi nahi chala.
Massi: aaur nahi toh kya
Jai: Dadi, Massi ab toh le aya
Adi: Massi aap toh shukar manao ki leh aya, warna pata chalta shaadi kar keh kehta meri biwi se mileyeh
Jai was mad at Adi 'aren't you suppose to be on my side'
Adi: aren't i and laughed along with Dadi and Massi
Jigs: ab aap log bas kijey mere bhai ke kichai mat karo aaur aap log Jai bhai ki class he loge ya phir mujhe mere bhabhi se milne bhi doge she smiled coming close to her 'bhabhi main Jigs'
Bani: mujhe pata hai didi
Jigs was touched she had taken an instant liking at her, they too hugged (what it's a hugging family) and then pointed towards Adi and that right there standing with Jai bhaiya is my dorky husband 'Aditya'
Bani smiled at her definition 'hmm I know'
Adi: Jigs kyun impression kharab kar rahi ho
Jigs: whatever
Massi: beta chal mere saath
Jai: Massi kahan le ja rahi ho
Massi: tu toh chup hi reh, mujhe tujhse koi baat nahi karni apni bahu se baat karni hai, jo tum logon ke rehte nahi ho sakti, kyun Biji, chal Bani
She went along with Massi and Dadi

Bani went stiff Massi noticed her withdrawal and immediately changed the topic, kher aab toh yeh bhi tera ghar hai.

Dadi: aaur nahi toh kya, yeh sub baatein chor aaur yeh bata, fims dekhti hai?
Bani: smiled kabhi kabhi, Dadi time nahi milta aaur akele man bhi nahi karta
Dadi: phir toh mazaa aayega aab mujhe bhi company miljayegi
Massi: Kya beeji aap bhi na, Bani beta Agee kya karne ka soocha hai ?
Bani: Massi as she was going to continue Anu came in the room
Anu: Massii she stopped seeing someone unfamiliar sitting with her
Bani had recognized her to be Anu from the pic Jai had showed her.
Massi: ander aa na wahan kyun ruk gayi

Anu shocked at first but breaking into a million dollar smile 'Mami' and hugged her
Massi Dadi looked at each other couldn't believe their ears

Bani: I know Jai told me, I also wanted to meet the princess
Anu: I see Mamaji has been talking about me, hopefully all good things

Massi looked at Bani "Bani kya Adi jaanta hai iss bare mein"
Bani knew Jai was in trouble and now so was Adi "Massi actually'
Massi: Bani Adi bhi janta hai?

Bani: lekin Massi suniye toh holding her hand, 'massi undono ki galti nahi hai mere wajeh se dono chup the, aaur Adi bhaiya ko bhi accidentally pata chala thaa, aaur tab Jai neh bataya unhe
Massi smiled at her 'abhi se Jai ki inti tarafdari bahu'
Bani blushed lowering her eyes.
Massi: taking kajal out of her eyes put it behind her ear 'tum dono ki khushiyon ko kisi ki nazar na lage.'
Dadi: hai, bilkul Rani Mukherjii ke tarah sharmati hai
Massi: haan bahut pyaari hai, moving a affectionate hand over her head
Anu: Massi neeche chalen, Mami apko pata nahi hai per abhi tak hum subne breakfast bhi nahi kiya hai, apka hi wait ho raha tha
Bani: mera?
Massi: Haan woh Jai ka wait kar rahe thee na, per aab jo tum aagayi ho toh aaj pehle baar pura parivaar saath mein hai.
Anu: Massi abhi parivaar pura kahan hua hai
Massi and Bani looked at her inquisitively
Anu: tongue in cheek winking at Dadi 'mera matlab hai shaadi ke baad mere chote chote bhai behan bhi toh ane bake hain kyun Dadi'
Dadi: woh toh hai
Bani wished the earth would tear apart and she could hide, she was red, completely red
Massi: chup besharam, kuch bhi bolti hai, dekh beechari ki kya halat ho gayi looking at Bani
Anu came near her 'maine kuch galat kaha' and went out laughing 'jaldi ana'
Massi: beta iski baat ka bura mat manna yeh aise hi hai, Jai ne bigar rakha hai
Bani just blushed still trying to retain her normal color.
