YAY part 9
Ok I desperately hope I don't write myself into a corner!
Only 4 min to get this post out so bear with mistypes etc.
Bani wiped the tears from her eyes an plastered a smile upon her face as she opened the door to welcome her daughter in. She knew rhea would not exactly be happy since they were moving and so she promised herself that she would pasify her somehow.
"hi my darling!" she said as she saw her daughter in her doorway.
Rhea had an odd look on her face. She looked guilty somehow , as though she was hiding something.
"hi mommyâŚ." She said, hugging bani tightly right there in the doorway. "mommy, will you be angry with me if I do something you don't like but I think is necessary?" she asked, her voice quvering with fear.
"darling what is it?" bani asked, kneeling in front of her daughter. "what are you hiding, janu?"
"well mommyâŚ.."said rhea, biting her lip. " I decided that I didn't want to move at all. And so I brought someone home so that you see that theres no reason to move anyway because hes so nice. I brought papa home. I hope your not angry."
And exactly at that moment, the tall, looming figure of Jai Walia came within bani's view from within her house, stepping in front of the doorstep.And his handsome face was not smiling.
"What?????" said bani softly, unable to believe what she saw.
"yes mommy, I brought papa home so that he can make you happy and we don't have to move. See, hes real, hes not made up. And hes very nice!" said rhea, pulling out of bani's hug.
"rhea darling, I think you had better go to bed. I need to speak with your friend for awhile." Said bani, noting the expression of anger on Jai's face.
"ok mommy!" said rhea, and she skipped off to bathe and eat her dinner before bed, satisfied that her plan had worked.
"Mr waliaâŚ."said bani after a few minutes, realising that she needed to say something.
"NO bani. You have nothing to say that I am willing to hear. Excuses, for leaving me and running away? For hiding my child from me all these years? Why bani, why? How could you hide rhea from me?! She has been deprived of her daddy for all her life, and I have missed the most important moments of her life too. How dare you?!" Mr Walia thundered. His face was a pure expression of fury as he looked upon her stunned visage and glared at her angrily.
"WHAT?" bani asked, stunned.
"BANI. You have no right to talk right now, let me set some ground rules over here. You will NOT run away again. How dare you keep my own daughter, my own flesh and blood, away from ME? If you do, so god help me, I will hunt you down and take rhea away from you forever. You will stay here until I think of a plan. And you will NOT poison rhea's mind against me. I will meet you tomorrow at 1pm to discuss this situation at caf coffee day. Be there." He walked away, leaving bani stunned right there at the doorway.
Bani stood fuming and slammed the door with a bang. How dare he accuse her, she thought. He was the one who betrayed HER. How dare he!
And what was this about rhea being his daughter?! She was confused about his reference to rhea as his own bloodâŚâŚ.and then comprehension dawned upon her. She had adopted rhea about a year and a half since she had left Mr walia, and rhea was almost one then. That would mean that she was just the right age to be Mr walia's daughter! She finally understood his fury, but in no way found his accusations justified after what he had done to her. What a hypocrite!
But she knew how much he had always wanted his own child, and how happy he had been when she was pregnant. How sweet he looked when he played with rhea. How was she going to tell him about the truth? HOW? It would break him.
