: Episode 2 :
Don't you dare, for one minute, believe that my kindness makes me anything but insurmountable. I did not unzip my chest to every kind of hurt, and stagger back, wounded and alive, just to hear you call me weak for trying. | Ashe Vernon

The best of luck wish : Episode starts with Arjun getting ready for the competition that will decide the fate of Hashtinapur's throne and in glided Uruvi with her usual friendly leg pulling . There isn't much to take away from the scene, except that Arjun is clearly hoping to finally win Uruvi's heart and make a place in her life as some thing more than her best friend. He's not even hiding it any more behind friend tag .
I'm glad that he reminded Uruvi he's confident not vain ; just like Uruvi . And he's right to be confident , he knows he's matchless among his brothers and cousins.
It was interesting how Uruvi is not exactly reluctant or uncomfortable , though she's carefully avoiding reciprocation , when faced with Arjun's interest in her, she was indeed praying for his win and I can not blame a young lady if so, since Arjun is not just the prince of a powerful kingdom , he's also regarded as highly eligible because of his archery skills and gentlemanly nature. Plus , he's interested in her , which always stacks the odds in favor of a person , such is the case with human beings.
What I liked best is Uruvi's - "Subh ho, mangal ho.. " She didn't said may you win or any thing such. She need not.

This scene made me thoughtful as to what'd have happened if Karna hadn't entered her and Arjun's life at this juncture , when the relationships were still brewing in the tender state of tremulous courtship and no official tag attached to it of yet. Uruvi would've probably got married to Arjun indeed . " Ab to mitrata se bad ke rishte ban ne hai.. " As of now, none of the parties were making the match official probably because Yudishthir , Duryadhan and Bhim were still unmarried , and Arjun's turn could only come later. The kind of allowance her parents and Arjun's family both were giving to the "friends" U-A , were enough hint that there was no whiff of doubt in anyone's mind including that of Uruvi's that she would end up with Arjun only and that was probably fine by her too, since not every one gets married to the love of their lives. Some times people go for their best friends , which though does not offer the thrill and passion of love turned into wedlock still makes the journey through life very smooth and easy as friends understand each other. Had Arjun got a chance to ask for her hands in marriage , she'd have said yes to her friend , had she not already fallen for the Angaraaj. Some times we don't really know what we want from life till we're actually presented with it. There's a difference between what we want and what we cannot do without.

The Rangabhumi drama :
Poor Duryadhan's face fell away almost comically when the stadium erupted to cheer Arjun .
Why did Uruvi walked in with Arjun inside the arena , being a princess ?? It looked decidedly odd. But the conversation they'd during the armlet gifting , is quite telling of the future , as many have already pointed out the jemstone is a symbol which stands for Uruvi's heart . She was asking Arjun, if he could take care of it and Arjun had reassured her no body coould even touch it . Fate watched on and smirked . When she was looking at Arjun ,light reflected from Karn's divya kavach and fell on her eyes and she was instantly distracted . An indication that Karn's shine his entry in her life will take her away from Arjun. Also , as her eyes were again searching the crowd for the source of the dazzle , she couldn't find him . May be another indication that she'll have much difficulty in finding Karn's heart , or rather thaw his frozen heart and capture it .
(Fan girl moment : How gorgeous did our Hero looked , brooding in the crowd. Aashim's eyes are some thing else ☢️ ! )

As the competition started and fiercely progressed , Arjun established excellence easily and unchallenged . Must say, once again, very very impressed by Kingshuk. From his body language to the resident little smile twinkling in his eyes as he shot arrow after arrow at Duryadhan, to the utter composed voice and eyes while asking Duryadhan to brace his defeat , he was simply a pleasure to watch. His friend also looked mightly excited at this point.
Karn looked on unperturbed . He , till then , had no role to play in the political drama of Hastinapur royals therefore emotional attachment to the same . He's here to take part by hook or crook and show the world his mettle and his face looked unperturbed as that of a bystander or neutral audience , with a little scowl when Arjun's name was being cheered on after his arrows shot the target with mathematical accuracy. He only looked curious when Duryadhan openly challenged Drona's hasty declaration of Arjun as "sarvashreth" .
As the one-on-one between Arjun-Duryadhan started , Karn was finally hooked to the match. It was as if he noticed Duryadhan properly for the 1st time since the start of the match. His smirk , when Arjuna shot the 1st arrow near Dury's feet , gave away that he already knew what Arjun is up to , just like one great archer already knows the tricks of another.
I must say , Duryadhan is of the kind who'd rather break than brace his defeat . Call it his virtue or vice , it makes him who he was, his defining trait. Even when reduced to the state of porcupine he was struggling to free himself with black fury on his face , yet not ready to accept abject defeat , when Karn freed him with one swift shot.
Arjun immediately recognized the archer as the same one from the previous encounter. Like I said , one great archer recognizes the tricks of others . As he turned to see Karn , he met his life time nemesis for the 1st time , same as Uruvi's eyes fell on her human firefly . She looked on intrigued as he somersaulted inside the arena , revealing his chiseled face and lean bow like body in a breath taking shot .
By now the air was thick with rising tension and hostility between Karn-Arjun . As Arjun walked ahead to meet Karn half way followed by the rest , Shakuni exchanged a meaningful glance with Dury . A good trickster never misses a golden opportunity to turn the tides in his favour.
As Karn faced intense and hostile interrogation from a visibly angry Drona , he fought the volley of bullets charged at him with words and questions that had always made elitists ill at ease and always will , till the end of time . His words were no less piercing than the deadliest of arrows , since they were laced with the key element that rings - truth ! Aashim was excellent in this scene. It was good to see how unfazed Karn was all through out this question session with the required amount of courage and strength of character . He knew what he's going to face and he was mentally ready . What is the point of being agitated and angry when the same can be used against you immediately when you show them you're affected by this kind of attacks ??
By now Uruvi's intrigue has thickened into frank interest , Her inherent sense of justice makes her support his points and she's impressed at the guts of this stranger who dared to enter a competition specifically held for the royals.

: Episode 3 :

"It is a lonely feeling when someone you care about becomes a stranger. | Lemony Snicket, When Did You See Her Last?"

The previous episode's Rangbhumi drama continues :
I was clapping in glee when Drona and Arjun's face fell as Karn spoke of his Guru , even Bhishma was startled and I was chortling in glee as he called Drona as Gurubhai . Drona's furious face was worthy of a codac moment . As Karn insisted on his participation amongst further opposition and steady refusal by Drona , Arjun finally found his lost voice and showed eagerness to gave this impertinent new fellah a lesson . He's aware that the passings on is being watched by not just the Hashtinapur , but also his lady love. But new characters jumped in the drama , Adhirath and Radha with their own son Shon , as Adhirath tried to dissuade Karn from participating , Radha was emotional at the reunion with her beloved son after 12 years and Karn's stoic manner dissolved as he took in the display of open heartfelt love and happiness of Radha ma as she fondly caressed his face and his eyes softened , as if hard ice melting into water.
Uruvi was puzzled at the continued refusal towards Karn's participation as she couldn't gauze the fear that was in Drona's heart that if Karn indeed take part after all , he may actually be proven to be , at least Arjun's equal , which Drona could never allow or never even risk, the same fear that made him took away Eklavya's archery skills to uproot the rivalry of a better archer .

Radheya the virtuous :
As Shon tried to persuade his brother's case , revealing that he's an adopted child and not a true born Sutaputra ,so he may quite possibly be a Khshtriya for all they know, Karn showed us one of his very many great qualities , for which his name was , is and always will be taken with revenrance and attach it to everlasting glory - his acknowledgement of his adopted parents Adhirath and Radha , and his upbringing among Sutas. And this always remained the same , no matter what transpired in between . He remained proud , respectful and grateful towards his foster family . We can simply read the conversation between him and Lord Krishna when Krishna invited him to discard the Kaurava's side and join his brothers , to see that clearly.

As he puts a full stop to his brother's words with a booming angry " Shon".. and continued with..

" Mein wo nehi jo samaj mein apne pratishtha banane ke liye apne palanharo ko jhutla du..
Mein wo nehi jo apne pehechhan kisi aise pita , ya aisi ma se jodu jinhone janam dete hi mujhe tyag diya ho..
Mein Radheputra tha , hu aur agar meri janani aj meri samne akar bhi khadi ho jaye to bhi mein Radheya hi rahunga .. "

As his parents and brother rightfully swelled with pride and happiness , Kunti's face crumbled with misery. Uruvi's reproach towards the real mother of Karn , which she thought aloud, didn't help it any.
Aashim was simply superb in this scene , couldn't clap hard enough for how well he delivered in this scene , his voice , his eyes every thing just added to the gravitas of the scene , full marks with bonus points to him.

Sangini in the making :
Uruvi's argument with her father and Pitamaha Bhishma , once again showed us why she's deserving of the title Karnsangini . She's genuinely possessed of clear thinking that rises above any kind of bias ingrained in the system and her clarity of thoughts telling her this major point that by suppressing the challenge they're just throwing Arjun in a bad light , making him look like he's incapable of taking Karn in a one-on-one , which is not just unfair to Karn but Arjun ever more so. After all you can not be best without besting others fair and square. Suppressing Karn's participation will open the can of worms of doubts in people's mind that may be after all Arjun was not the best and Uruvi did not want this to happen with her friend.
I'm glad that Karn proceeded to leave the arena when instructed to do so by his father , for he's a good son and he could not just stand there and watch his parents being dragged by Drona and co. But he didn't do so before openly taunting Drona and Arjuna some . By this time Dury-Shakuni pairing , who couldn't likely believe their luck at this unexpected pleasant turn of events for them 😉, are gleeful and sold !😛

Start of a lifetime alliance:
And while basking in this good luck , Dury made a check in the chess board , and made Karn his battle mate , his friend. I am extremely happy with how humble and genuinely nice and gracious he was , while doing so , not a shred of arrogance and simply giving it as a prize of Karn's valor and hims saving Duryadhan from Arjun's cage of arrows , also offering his friendship as a gift . Really glad that till now CVs are keeping Duryadhan pretty human and normal. Both Gandhari and Dhritrastra looked on pleased with his decision to befriend Karn. Gandhari was actually swelling with pride when Duryadhan offered to be Karn's Charioteer, once again making it clear how solid this friendhship and mutual trust is going to be , lasting till death , deeper than any that he'll share with even his brothers. Uruvi was agitated at the birth of this alliance , as she's wary of Duryadhan and the possible outcome of this friendship , but could she not see that Duryadhan was the only one who stood for him and by him against the attacks of the society ?? Without him doing so , Karn would've no chance to show the world what he's capable of.

Doe caught in the Sunlight :
As the face off between Arjun-Karn kick started , Karn had his eyes fixed on Arjun , while Uruvi's was held in a gaze upon Karn. As Arjun's first arrow struck Karn's chest mid center and dissolved in a sunny glow of the divine kavach , Uruvi literally saw Karn for the first time in a new light , saw him properly for who he truly is - Sunlight made into flesh . She's spell bound , her eyes couldn't look away any more than she could control the new emotions that took birth right at that moment . She looked on mesmerized , the whole face off thing completely forgotten , she's in a new world with little care to her surroundings ( chariot was probably running on autopilot mode !😆 ) and came back to earth 😆 from her visit to Suryalok 😆with a shock when Karn's arrow made a near contact with her pretty face . She looked angry , anger at her own self , for this moment of weakness and distraction.
As fate would have it , the precious armlet got broken by Karn's arrow with both Arjun and Uruvi staring open mouthed. Of course , Karn had no idea what it meant for Arjun or what is stands for Uruvi .😉 Some times we become embroiled in the cooking of destiny with little knowledge of it in the beginning.😉

The red headed league is hereby dissolved ! :
Both Kunti and Bhishma jumped in to brake and break the battle , for battle is what it was . No exhibition of talent . Both the ziddi valiant warriors were out for blood only. So they had to stopped in short order 😆 and sent home summarily, but the enmity that started only intensified due to lack of conclusion.

The sky is overcast with green clouds of jealousy ! :
Arjun is in a state of angry and pained turmoil , since he couldn't keep the vachan he'd given to his heart's dear. Uruvi made it worse by accidentally and absent mindedly praising Karn in front of him , which flared the already ready base of jealousy and hurt and sense of betrayal in his eyes and voice . " Kahi mere mitra ne ye to nehi man liya.. ... " Oh wait Arjun , you don't know yet ki usne kya kay man liya !

Gargi my dear,

I am very pleased that you will be doing the episodes analyses, even if in brief. This is the kind of show for which I would have liked to do them, but I can no longer cope with that load, not only the post - where I simply do not know how to be brief ! - but also the responses to comments. You will do them far better than I could have done, and I shall have the easier task of commenting on your posts!

I was mulling over how to handle this excellent diptych of yours, the intro plus Episode 1, and have now decided to comment on each separately. My comments are in blue italics.

Auntie, the way I see it now, it may not be possible for me to continue it for long , though I'd love to do it , since I simply won't be able to manage the time and efforts required to keep such a giant going , what with episode posts , replies and all. Plus , the episodes needed to be watched at least thrice to catch on the nuances of acting , dialogs , hidden symbolism and such.
But let's see how far could i manage . Kudos to you once again that you managed to do so with your JA posts for so long, it's now only that I'm beginning to appreciate them fully. 👏
My responses in Green . 😳

I am doing this part now, and will post my comments on your take for Episode 1 tonight or tomorrow, by when you might well have put up your take on Episode 2!

:The Gods envy us. They envy us because we're mortal, because any moment may be our last. Everything is more beautiful because we're doomed. You will never be lovelier than you are now. We will never be here again. | Homer, Iliad:

This rare quotation is not just beautiful, but deeply and tragically philosophical. The relationship between the Greeks and their Gods was unique, compounded of awe, fear and familiarity alike, for their Gods, bar the blessing (or curse) of immortality, shared the virtues and the vices of mortals.

I was recently reading a comparison between Greek Mythology and Indian mythology and the similarity between them , there are some striking ones indeed. One being the character of Indra and Zeus , their powers , follies and assault of women . Gods and Goddesses inbreeding with humans and openly interacted with them on a regular basis.

Hi fellow Karnsanginians , I'm Gargi . * Waves * 😳 I suck at introductions , and I rock in skipping parts where I suck ! 😆
So, introduction over ! 😃Sidhe mudde pe aate hai ! 😉

Kanasangini : Finally I got time out of my hectic schedule to catch up with the episodes properly and I've to say , I did so with great trepidation in the beginning . I'm not a Karna fan , I've objection to the word fan , seems kind of superficial to me in comparison to what I feel for Suryaputra . I worship him. From childhood. 😳

So with this kind of personal emotional attachment , you also become jittery and anxious related to every thing associated with him, no matter if it's even a tv show it has his name associated with it . My Aradhya's name , my Arya's name . I can not keep calm , I confess . I felt like some one extremely dear to me is giving a test. I feel involved.

We find infinite excuses to evade anxiety inducing situations , "triggers" as long as feasible. I did just that . People ran away from sugar tests and evade going to the doctor all the time. Ostrich technique.

Aashim , Kingshuk and Tejasswi looked very promising in the promo . But I still couldn't bring myself to watch the show without hearing a little bit of feedbacks from my sister and fellow forum members first. It was very positive , which encouraged me to watch the show marathon fashion.

Already people gifted with eloquence of expression and fluidity in words and observation have done a great job in pointing out very many nuanced aspects about the show , but when it comes to good things , more is less ! :D

Don't fish, kid! 😉No one can fault you for any lack under the heads of eloquence of expression, fliuidity in words, or observation. You have all these, and then you have the most important thing of all: passion. You remind me often of a wilful, unpredictable Arabian filly, racing breathlessly towards a distant goal.

It's your affection talking , Auntie. 😉
I'm passionate for a cause is all that I'll say. but I really mean it that with such atlented writers on board , it's really challenging to bring some thing new to the table.

The show :
I must say I'm very impressed with the show. It has great repeat value content wise. It can be and should be watched by general mytho loving viewers , heck, in fact any general tv viewer. It is capable of providing them the joy they deserve to enjoy for giving their time to the tv screen. I've already started recommending it to my friends proudly , secure and confident in the quality , presentation and compactness of the script and how well directed , well shot it is ! A visual joy ride . <33 👏

I have been too often disappointed by shows that are oh so promising to begin with, but then sink into mediocrity or worse, to rejoice so soon, but I am modestly hopeful.

Tab ka tab dekha jayega , let's just focus on enjoying for now. 😉

The casting : In a one week old show , it's simply not possible to do justice to all the characters introduced till now, since there are many characters and all of them are well known ones. 😳

But I'm very happy and really really impressed with the leads Aashim and Tejasswi our Karn -Uruvi , Arjun , Kunti , Duryadhan , Bhishma.
I need to see more of Karna's parents , Shakuni , Dushyashan , Gandhari , Bhishma etc. to give an opinion.

You have included Bhishma under two heads! He really belongs with the second lot. I personally don't need to see more of Dusshasana, Gandhari, or even Karna's parents. The conflict between him and them is already over and done with. His mother reminds me of Leela Misra, the eternal aunt in old Hindi films. His foster brother is plain irritating.

I love the tall imposing presence and calm voice of Bhishma 😳 , but the verdict is still not out on him, we need more data for it.

Aashim is not even trying to follow the previous versions of Karna . I'll give him that and I'll say Kudos 👏. He's carving out a fresh niche for himself. He's making it clear that he's not stepping into any one's shoes , but making new shoes for himself , from raw leather , then wearing it and strutting it . Great job for the first week , with some scenes rising above great to become exceptional , with little improvisations , subtle gestures , how much he brings to the table with his body language , his carriage and his eyes , which are piercing like arrows as one of the Uruvi's Saheliya so aptly put. He's full of restraint which is good because most actors tend to overkill it. We're in for paisa vasool and some more here , folks !

Now here, I am going to choose prudence over candour. After all, I was trained to be a diplomat all my working life, and such deeply ingrained habits die hard😉. Besides, I don't want to upset you. So I shall merely say that it is a great pity the makers didn 't try to get the ultimate Karna, who is wasting his talent playing Vikramaditya.

I don't think of Aham as ultimate Karna . No one can be Karn other than Karn himself ! But yes others can strive to portray him some what well . Aham did a very authentic and remarkable stint as Karn , no one can question that. But I've full faith that Aashim will be an iconic Karn just like Aham and will be remembered for his portrayal.
Why say waste Auntie ?? You're not liking the show "Vikram Vetaal " ??

Another actor , I'm pleasantly surprized how much I'm impressed with, is Kingshuk's Arjun , who's simply great I must say. 👏 I'm really happy ki sadak se koi chindi sa Arjun pakad ke nehi le aya .
He's full of fresh sparkle , with great ease in a mythological role, and one that of Arjuna ! Effortless and gorgeous in each and every single frame . Carefree , proud , conservative , yet flirtatious and noble. Full marks to Kingshuk. 👏 He's easy on the eyes too. 😉

Yes. This is the first time I am seeing him, and he fits the bill perfectly. Carelessly confident in his superiority over all others, a tad arrogant, but not the kind to wantonly hurt anyone. He reminds me of the kind of rich kid who would rev up a 16 cylinder Lamborghini at 10 pm in a quiet street, and rejoice in the roar of the motor.

Great comparison. 😆😆 I'm glad you agree with me in this regard.

It was expected from Tejasswi that she'll fit the bill perfectly as the feisty yet feminine Uruvi and she rose up to that expectation. A face that reminds you of fairy tales and historicals automatically , a face that holds both beauty and power and feminine grace , each in equal quantity and a maturity that is complimented by innocence , she takes on the titular role with easy confidence and determined vigor . Superb casting to say the least. Within 2 minutes flat , she's just Uruvi for me , Tejaswini forgotten and that is the best thing one can probably say about an actor.

You have quite spread yourself on the young lady, so I have not much to add. But she is better when she is doing vigorous arguing, as with Bhishma, or attempting an edgy hostility, as in the post hamaam sequence with Karna, than in the plain emotional parts. When Arjun asks her if she thinks he is not the sarvashreshta, she looks blank. She should have said something to reassure him.

I guess she felt blank too , some times I feel blank too when I'm asked my opinions like that on my face . 😆I need time to formulate opinion but once formed they're very strong and unmovable. I guess same with Uruvi. She's not quick opinionated.

Kunti - Extremely glamorous ⭐️, almost too much so for a role that is of an widow for the 99 % part 😕, but Sayantani saved it with her natural acting . She's superb with gray roles , so I'm confused why the makers are so hell bent on white washing Kunti's character , after securing Sayantani for the role ! 😕Lost opportunity .

Because the audience will not accept anything else. She was not too grey as Satyavati in the Mahabharata either. But her get up is all wrong. Being a widow, she should have been in white, with minimal or no jewellery. As it is,she looks like a Christmas tree on December 24 evening.

But I do not agree with all the Kunti bashing here. Of that more later, perhaps. I liked her scene with Arjun a lot.

Agree with Indian viewers not being able to understand and accept gray characters , especially in mytho genre . But they should be slowly introduced to the idea of it.

She looked stunning as maiden Kunti . You can expect her to pop out as gorgeous babies as her sons Karn-Arjun are !

She looked exactly the same as she does 25 years later. Odd!

Pace of the story is great for now , almost breathlessly so. You can't risk missing a scene , or you might miss some important dialogs or nuance . Script is compact like Oxford pocket dictionary. More importantly, it has twists and turns and is pleasingly unpredictable within a predictable set up.

Background score : Some of them are really good , as the flute tune that plays during Uruvi's banter with Jaya Vijaya or the one plays on Uruvi-Arjun, the lyric less tune that plays when Karn shoots arrows at special occasions , the sad tune when Kunti bid goodbye to an infant Karn , Uruvi introductory tune... so on.

The flute tune in the background might have been very good, but the same cannot be said of Jaya and Vijaya. They set my teeth on edge.😡 And they are ubiquitous, the tiresome, giggly creatures!

They're useful in highlighting the maturity and theheraav of the female lead. 😉 😆 Who hasn't known classmates or friends exactly like them ?? 😉

Things I disliked after 1st week :

-: Too much of Arjun-Uruvi scenes . Call me possessive of Uruvi or call me conservative in this regard, or may be because she's going to be the soul mate or Atmasangini of Karn , it was extremely annoying to see so much of Uruvi with Arjun. At first I was ok with their friendship .I also enjoy any opposite gender platonic friendship in a Mytho set up. There are some lovely banters back and forth. Their personalities are some what similar , with Uruvi being more feisty or Arjun easy going charmer. Teju looks really good with Kingshuk in a cute kind of way ( not a patch on the live wire that Karn-Uruvi are though ) , so I enjoyed it until... the flirting started. It's obvious that there are undercurrents and Arjun is much too much fond of Uruvi . Cut down on that makers , or else I'll have an ulcer pretty soon.🤢

Show Arjun as much as you want. In any story that involves Karn , Arjun is important and vice versa , because K_A were arch rivals yet brothers. Their names are taken together many a times . We all understand that. Show Arjun with Karn , with his brothers , with Kunti , with Shon .. with horse .. with whoever however you want as long as it stays relevant to Karn. Keep him away from our Uruvi . She belongs to Karn only. "Dil ke sabse jyada kareeb " yikes ! No no no not done ! Delete ! No triangle needed or wanted . Thank you very much , but we reject and eject any such over closeness.

Who is this "we" ? You are assuming too much, my child, and there is no need to presume that everyone watching the show shares your prejudices and your obsession.😉

I don't, for one. Not that I am interested in an Arjun-Uruvi-Karna triangle, for triangles of all kinds bore me. But I fail to see why Arjun should be shunted off to the sidelines while your new found favourite struts across the stage. 😉

Coming to Arjun-Uruvi, what I fail to understand is how, in the society of those days (or even till most of the last century ) a high born girl like Uruvi is allowed to wander at will all over the countryside with Arjun. He is not related to her, and this sort of gallivanting would never have been allowed in those days. I don't buy all this mitrata spiel. No one would have accepted any of that. For one thing, her parents would have been worried that it would spoil her reputation, and that if the marriage with Arjun did not materialise, this open friendship would definitely harm her chances at the matrimonial stakes.

In instagram and twitter also I'm reading comments with people protesting against Arjun becoming kebab mein haddi between Karn-Uruvi , and you'll find many such others in the forum too 😆. So yes , definitely not "I" , but "we".😉 I've already clarified in my response to Sabita that I don't care about Arjun getting screen space , just not with Uruvi. No one can over shadow Karn. They couldn't even do it in SP MB , where there he hardly got good screen space. Still he stood out ⭐️. When the Sun is in the sky , other stars have to fade out. 😳

-: Kunti's portrayal 😕. More in the episode pointers.

-:The blood promise 🤢. More in the episode pointers.

-: Language 😲. Full of bumpy Urdu words "iradein", "dost" ."Tasveer" 😕 Which century is this again !

It is the pits.😡 Yes ! 😡

-: Gravity defying jump of Uruvi's chariot across the large abyss. Suspension of disbelief failed 🤔. Divya horses the kya ????😆 Maybe they're disciples of Rajnikant ! 😃

Rajnikant would have done it with more elan. As things were, it was ludicrous.

This apart, the rest of the contestants must have jumped across the chasm exactly like Uruvi, for if not , how would so many of them have made it to the finishing line? So what was so special about her doing it?

As for the actual chariot driving, neither Uruvi nor Duryodhana looks at all natural or realistic. I felt sorry for the poor horses.

No Auntie . Most of the other contestants were already eliminated by the other challenges in the road. The two surviving ones passed over that bridge only , under the nose of Arjun-Uruvi, while ARjun looked on helplessly at the adamant Uruvi. 😆 Only Uruvi's horses are capable of flying . 😆

I'm not going to do methodical episode reviews 😆, since I'm not in the head space to accomplish any such feat nowadays with a brutal job profile. But I'll endeavour to give some of the things from each episodes that I may observe , Sort of bullet points in a haphazard manner , regularly in this thread , for as long as I can continue or the show lasts. Simply hoping and requesting fellow members to join in and drive the chariot . More and more questions lead to the truth . More and more discussions lead to Disney land ! 😃

Will update the thread soon with episodes pointers over the weekend.
Uruvi did not do any elaborate gesture towards Arjun to welcome him , since he's her closest friend . But I will go different. Welcome my friends with open arms.🤗

Would love to know what you think about my episode reviews. I've posted up to episode 4. Still two minds about episode 5, whether to do a review or not . May be a short one in the afternoon , before the new episodes.
Apologies for the late reply, couldn't catch hold of a computer till late evening today.

: Episode 4 :

Sarayy raah jo unse nazarr mili,
To naksh dil ke ubharr gaye..
Hum nazarr mila ke jhijhag gaye,
Woh nazarr jhukaa kar chale gaye...

The controversial raktvachan ! :
Adhirath and Radha are worried for Karn , where as his brother is excited with the newly unfolded events ! Adhirath wants Karn to return with them , when Duryadhan entered , looking content like the proverbial cat who ate the cannery and licking lips , and promptly put a stop to any such propositions . Our Kannery , I mean Karn was so touched with Dury's concern towards his wounds that his eyes were wet while he strives to express how grateful and indebted he felt . While that pleases n convinces Dury , Shakuni is not near readiness to accept Karn's words for word value.
A great dialog by Dury here , " While one can break even a given promise , a honorable person keeps even his casually spoken words. " Hat's off to the dialog writer. 👏We need a dialog corner, seriously . 😳
Karn of course , completely ready to prove his loyalty and devotion , immediately agreed . It was enough for him that Duryadhan thought that there's no need for such an oath , Karn's words alone were enough ! Since he's NEVER going to sway from his loyalty towards Dury in any case , what could be his reason to disagree or disapproave ?? If it can assuage any doubt in Shakuni's mind, so be it. He wanted to put to rest any such question mark about this sacred friendship , that he always held more binding than any other human bond or relationship , once and for all.
We all know this scene was included only to provide a cope out for Kunti ,to "save" her from speaking the truth, an intregral part of her white washing and nothing else. 🤢 As it is , I still fail to understand why couldn't she reveal the truth to Karn or her other sons , and why that'd become his " Mrityu ka karan.. " Kuch bhi ainvey ! 😕
This Duryadhan I must say is a thorough gentleman . How courtaseous and proper he is in addressing Mata Kunti.
The first Karn-Kunti scene was a heartbreaking one and a beautiful one at that . I might have even enjoyed it , had Kunti been any less of a disgusting character. But then she is indeed as insufferable as she is , so I will skip this scene almost in entirity . Just would like to mention how sportingly and graciously Karn admitted to his rival being a top notch warrior ( while Arjun had earlier failed to do the same in front of Uruvi, though I kind of understand . Uruvi washerself being tactless . ) and a mother shouldn't be dragged between the battle of warriors. He had no idea that Kunti is also his mother , but he extended the same respect towards her as he would've had he known the truth. Yet he didn't forget to remind her that fate owe them another chance to duel it out.

Uruvi lost :
Literally lost in deep thought , while the maids tended to her and of course, as part of their job , gossiping of the startling events of the "pratispardha" . Before her story with Karn starts , it's preview was being written in her heart in invisible ink of fate . She couldn't understand how could some one break the jemstone so easily ?? Was then it's specialities as told were just an exaggeration ?? But her friends would have none of it . They've only one purpose in life and that is to fan the flame of restless spark of attraction in her heart , till it becomes a blazing fire. Poor Uruvi could only hide her growing confusion with annoyance, while the gushing by the unsuspecting Jaya Vijaya was doing a good job of thorough covering the important topics , from his lashing-like-thunder archery , to his piercing eyes , to his curly hair , to his mysterious personality , to his divya magical kavach and Kundal! 😉
Not surprizing though . Karn was a great favorite among ladies . It was said when he'd rise from the river after taking daily bath , ladies of Hashthinapur would flock around to get a glimpse of him. So of course "Sundar, Man mohak" Karn became the immediate subject of frezy discusssion in the interior of the houses and palaces by the resident ladies , as he took on his new role in the political circle of the kingdom.
Some one drag Uruvi back to Earth and tie her to a post 😉 , because once again her heart is soaring towards the Suryalok as she revisited her first glimpse of Karn. 😉As we see him through her eyes , we soar with her in same blissful euphoria.

Arjun-Kunti conversation :
Nothing much to add . One of the scenes which you , no not skip , but just watch , nod and move on from. Arjun was ofcourse seething with anger at the slight he faced from Karn , and the sting of his words of challenge was fresh in his mind. But what left a wound deeper than his arrows in his arms , was the broken armlet , his broken promise , with Uruvi herself being present there to witness it happen. He's eager to return the debt of wound with proper interest and Kunti is shaking in her sandals as the prospect of forever enmity looms large over her two sons.

Unknown driving force :
Uruvi ready to use the readymade excuse to have a meeting with Karn , couldn't wait till it's proper daylight . Off she goes to heal the wounds of her heart , towards the man who is the root cause of it . Dard bhi wo, dawa bhi wo ! 😉
But really for a palace which holds so many of young princes and their friends and guests as Hashthinapur , it's jarring how a stunningly beautiful young maiden princess walks about chaperone-less. 😆 But it's not against the fact .😳 During those days, women did enjoy exactly this kind of freedom of movement and meetings , though after marriage there were just a little more restrictions. Because ye un dino ki baat hai jab maryada was every thing in the lives of even common people . Maryada was what guarding the virtues of women , and that sense of honor during any such opposite gender interaction were their chaperones.

Any case , she was stopped short by the guards , because Karn was busy in praying and Uruvi was mad at Karn , completely devoid of any reason or logic . It should have dawned upon her in a flash that Karn is not even aware of her coming to visit him ; it's just a general instruction being followed . But Uruvi was neither in that kind of head space or heartspace to take these facts into consideration, she was childishly petulant and insistent . Used to having her way , it made her even more determined to not wait and after quelling any resistence with a authorative glare of her eyes , she went on ...and landed on a very wet and bare torso Karn. What a lucky stroke of luck !

Ensnare the senses :
While the semi transparent red veils keeping Karn out of her vision flew back to reveal a very , pardon my words , delicious male back , the kind that drives the inside of a woman's lower midriff in a knot 😉 , and Uruvi walked in a reverie and had an eyeful . Karn looking his beautiful best with his face washed in sunlight , while he stands mid bath in a gesture of prayer. She did not look away till she got her heart's fill and when she did finally turn , blushing , her face was glowing with the softest smile . Uruvi to gayi !😆

The hurt pride :
She was still lost in that after glow when Karn came out fully dressed . There was a fleeting moment of unfathomable thought passing across his face as he looked down as if he needed a moment of preparation before facing her . But when he called out , Uruvi was as if glued to the ground , she was a breathless mess of fluttering heart beats , racing pulse and flaming cheeks . She needed much more than one moment to get it together and face him and instantly was lost again in a trance 😆after seeing him standing there in flesh. By that time, Karn has refined his tactic strategy and landed on the most defensive one of averting the eyes all the time with voice carefully kept impeccably polite and face down or looking away. 😆Pissed off Uruvi real good 😉. She came back from lala land , landed with a thud and totally mad at not being recognized by Karn . Even as she gave her own introduction with a lot of uncustomary attitude , Karn simply regarded her with polite disinterest 😆 and asked her reason for this unexpected visit. Uruvi took the chance to admonish him for his folly in destroying the armlet , whereas 1. Karn had no idea that it could mean any thing of significance to any one , let alone to Uruvi. 2. Even if he had , he's totally allowed to strike his enemy anywhere above the waist as Arjun was doing the same. It's not like he singled it out ! 😆
BUt of course any intelligent man is aware of the great piece of wisdom that one should never dispute with a woman , that too when she's young, that too when she's beautiful , that too when she's a princess and especially when the man is so inept and shy at dealing with ladies as our Karn is ! 😉

Uruvi choosing Karna is like a biggest shock to them all.
Arjun feels the worst and the rivalry between them intensifies.

Here Arjun is in love with Uruvi and rejects attending the swayamvar for Bhanumathi, so you wonder how they would show him participating for Draupadi and the whole Subhadra angle.

The actors are very good looking and I love the portrayals of this Arjun as this carefree, noble, impulsiven, insecure arrogant Arjun, many shows don't portray that impulsive and insecure Arjuna.
Ashim 's voice and facial expressions are good, liking that very restrained , arrogant but vulnerable Karna, but he needs to work on his body language.
As this show is about Karna hope they explore the friendship between Duryodhan and Karna, and not show any gimmick like the blood vow.
Karna was highly intelligent, ambitious , arrogant, noble, sarcastic and it was a deep sense of gratitude that turned into friendship. Karna chose to be with Duryodhan, there was no force involved or oaths.

But makers are not bound in any way to show exactly what is written in the novel, since the novel itself is a fiction written based on MB , sure they're basing the character Uruvi from the novel , but I can already see characteristic difference between the novel and the show Uruvi .
For once , I'd applauded them much more if they'd shown Arjun not getting attracted to Uruvi , as Uruvi is not the least bit romantically interested in him. The angst between them could have been shown if they're friends only IMO. I'd feel pretty betrayed if my childhood buddy , my best friend would marry my greatest enemy .
Yes , we're all loving Arjun's different facets which makers are daring to show , instead of portraying him as some picture perfect poster boy some thing akin to Maryada Purushottam ! 😆 After all what is the point of making a new show on a done to dust topic like MB , if you don't bring some thing new to the table. 😉
I'm glad that Duryadhan didn't ask for it , nor did he wanted it , it was Shakuni who asked for it and Karn went with it to shut him up. So it doesn't mar the purity of their friendship.
Karn was without a doubt the most fascinating character of Mahabharat , along with Lord Krishna. There are so many different and interesting angles to his story and personality that it's a continuing source of interest and curiosity towards his character, the reason there's so much work being done on him.
