It seems that people love to malign image of such great characters. I strongly oppose this serial as such serial be it chandranandini on Chandragupta maurya or karna sangini on karna's wife is gross injustice to iconic characters.

Creative liberties on Mahabharat have been taken since medieval ages. We have great poets & playwrights like Kalidasa, Kashiram Das, etc who have generously added their own original ideas and stories to Vyasa's, rendering beautiful angles (though fictional) to the already famous story in their own versions.

Some of them wrote their retellings in simpler language, adding colourful stories from their own imagination because their target audience was the naive peasantry who have no understanding of Sanskrit or the difficult philosophies of Vyasa.

But yes. These great writers of yore were honest enough to not call their own versions "Vyasa's Mahabharat". They never shied away from making it clear that it is "their" version.

The problem is many will think it is the truth.

Very few have enough curiosity to read and decide for themselves. And the agenda-driven trolls like the one posting here under multiple IDs will never urge them to read. Then, they will lose their position as judge of everything authentic.

Anyone who actually believes Karna was a positive character, please read KMG and CE for yourself and see what he has done. Don't limit yourself to the one conversation between Krishna and Karna where Krishna was clearly trying to weaken Karna. Read the text for yourself and see what Karna has done.

This show is similar to making a show glorifying Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the sex-trafficking terrorist.

As for the troll, other people's ignorance is his sharpest weapon. Read and know that he is lying through his teeth.

Yes people can make self assumption and hypothesis but truth is that draupadi was handed over to karna by shri krishna himself

I have a question for you RU.

3 questions, actually.

1. Krishna made 2 promises back to back. One, to Panchali to kill all her enemies including Karna. Two, that sexual intercourse promise. Now, one of the promises has to be a lie because they're mutually exclusive. Krishna also said it is fine to lie to an enemy. Connect the dots. Also, read what Krishna says to Karna at the moment of his killing.

2. What was Krishna's standing to offer Panchali? Keeping in mind it was a parriarchal society, the offer could only be made by father or brother or husband. Which of these was Krishna to Panchali? Krishna was no one to hand over Panchali.

3. Just before the offer, Panchali had said to Krishna she wouldn't accept peace proposal. That she would go to war even if KRISHNA refused. Surely, Krishna didn't have dementia to have forgotten that. Even if he were 100% serious, Panchali would've told him to go to hell. She actually did tell them all to go to hell with their peace proposal. 😆 Forget the standing, Krishna had no power to get Panchali to agree.

Let's face facts. The offer was 1) a lie to weaken Karna or 2) showed Krishna's contempt for Karna.

RU buddy
"Hypothesis" doesn't mean what you seem to think it does. Learn to use the right vocabulary.

What I quoted is law. Legal standing to offer a woman was part of Vedic Law. You can look it up in Rig Veda or Manu Smriti. Krishna didn't have legal standing to offer Panchali to anyone.

Also, it is well-documented that he promised to have Karna killed. Also, well-documented that Panchali said she'd go to war on her own.

Refute these 3 points if you can. 😆

Also, jealousy?

I'm not Panchali's hubby😆 to be jealous. Frankly, I think the Pandavas were disgraces.

Anyway, they're all characters from a time long ago. I think what we know of them is part real and part myth.

All I'm objecting to is glorifying a criminal.

Nothing to refute everything is self assumption

Krishna knew the laws which is why he offered knowing it won't happen.😆

He was a smart man.

Him seriously offering Panchali would mean every man in the subcontinent could offer his neighbor's wife as bribe.

To believe the offer was real, you would have to believe Krishna as a fool.

@Guys

1. Yudhistira even before marriage decided to share wife of arjuna. If yudhistir can share wife of brother then krishna can share wife of friend

Kunti's son Yudhishthira knew from their appearance what was going through their minds. O bull among men! He remembered Dvaipayana's words. Fearing that conflict might arise between the brothers, the king said, "This fortunate Droupadi will be a wife to all of us.'

2. Krishna never promised draupadi about death of karna. It was not promise but simple word that earth will drank their blood.

3. I dont find anything wrong in offer of krishna. If yudhistira can offer draupadi to all pandav then krishna can do same

Lord Krishna indeed offer Draupadi to Karna as an extra wife

Krishna didn't promise to kill Karna?😆
"Vaisampayana continued, 'In that assembly of heroes Vasudeva then spake unto the weeping Draupadi as follows, 'O fair lady, the wives of those with whom thou art angry, shall weep even like thee, beholding their husbands dead on the ground, weltering in blood and their bodies covered with the arrows of Vivatsu! Weep not, lady, for I will exert to the utmost of my powers for the sons of Pandu! I promise thou shalt (once more) be the queen of kings! The heavens might fall, or the Himavat might split, the earth might be rent, or the waters of the ocean might dry up, but my words shall never be futile!'

Stop thy tears, I swear to thee, O Krishna, soon wilt thou see thy husbands, with their enemies slain, and with prosperity crowning them.'"

Re: Your Yudhishtira comparison. Nuh huh. Vyasa asked the Pandavas to go to the swayamvara to win her as wife. I think it was 100% wrong, but Arjuna had already won her, and HE actually asked Yudhishtira to decide.

Krishna, OTOH, had absolutely no legal standing to make that offer. He wasn't her father, brother, husband, or fiance. Moreover, she had already told him she wouldn't listen to him.

(Same link as above).

Lotus-eyed one that art anxious for peace with the enemy, thou shouldst, in all thy acts, call to thy mind these tresses of mine seized by Dussasana's rude hands! If Bhima and Arjuna, O Krishna, have become so low as to long for peace, my aged father then with his war like sons will avenge for me in battle. My five sons also that are endued with great energy, with Abhimanyu, O slayer of Madhu, at their head, will fight with the Kauravas. What peace can this heart of mine know unless I behold Dussasana's dark arm severed from his trunk and pulverised to atoms?

😆 Anyone with enough curiosity may take the trouble of reading the scene.

Krishna promise was made specifically as response to Panchali mentioning Karna as enemy.

The foremost of women and devoted to my husbands, even I, O Krishna, was seized by hair, O slayer of Madhu, in the sight of the Pandavas, each of whom is like an Indra himself!

'Saying this the mild-speeched Krishna hid her face with her soft hands like the buds of lotus, and began to weep. And the tears of Panchali begot of grief washed her deep, plump and graceful breasts crowned with auspicious marks. And wiping her eyes and sighing frequently she said these words angrily and in a choked voice, 'Husbands, or sons, or friends, or brothers, or father, have I none! Nor have I thee, O thou slayer of Madhu, for ye all, beholding me treated so cruelly by inferior foes, sit still unmoved! My grief at Karna's ridicule is incapable of being assuaged! On these grounds I deserve to be ever protected by thee, O Kesava, viz., our relationship, thy respect (for me), our friendship, and thy lordship (over me)

p. 34

I find it very curious that someone would blatantly lie about Krishna not considering Karna an enemy when it is so easily disproven 😆

Re: polyandry
ARJUNA asked Yudhishtira to make that decision. In that patriarachal society, the man who won her hand had the right to make that offer

Vaisampayana continued, 'Thus addressed by his mother that hero among men, that foremost scion of the Kuru race, the intelligent king (Yudhishthira), reflecting for a moment, consoled Kunti, and addressing Dhananjaya, said, 'By thee, O Phalguna, hath Yajnaseni been won. It is proper, therefore, that thou shouldst wed her. O thou withstander of all foes, igniting the sacred fire, take thou her hand with due rites.'

"Arjuna, hearing this, replied, 'O king, do not make me a participator in sin. Thy behest is not conformable to virtue. That is the path followed by the sinful. Thou shouldst wed first, then the strong-armed Bhima of inconceivable feats, then myself, then Nakula, and last of all, Sahadeva endued with great activity. Both Vrikodara and myself, and the twins and this maiden also, all await, O monarch, thy commands. When such is the state of things, do that, after reflection, which would be proper, and conformable virtue, and productive of fame, and beneficial unto the king of Panchala. All of us are obedient to thee. O, command us as thou likest.

I think it was 100% immoral, but it was legal.

KRISHNA had no legal standing to offer Panchali.

Karna had enough intelligence to see it. His fans? Er... 😆
