CHAPTER -96
Manik and Nandini were in the car . Both of them were silent.
Nandini started the conversation .
Nandini - Manik ek baat puchu???
Manik just nodded looking at her.
Nandini - Mujhse koi galti Hui hai kya? I mean are you upset with me?
Manik - No Nandini... Why do you think so?
Nandini - Subah se apka behaviour Kuch badla badla sa lagraha hai. Agar mujhse koi galti hui hai to I am really sorry. Maine jaan boojh ke Kuch nahi Kia. Jo bhi galti Hui hai anjaane me Hui hogi. Mujhe nahi pata ki what have I done to upset you But fir bhi mai sorry bolti hoon.
Saying this Nandini held both her ears with her hands.
Nandini - I am so sorry Manik. Please forgive me for whatever I have done.
Nandini was on the verge of crying. Tears formed in her eyes.
Manik looked at Nandini and took a deep breath. He stopped the car by the side of the road and turned to Nandini.
Manik - Nandini tumne koi galti nahi ki. You don't have to be sorry for anything. Please don't cry.
Saying this Manik cupped Nandini's face and wiped the tears which had started to fall down her cheeks.
Manik - Nandini... Look at me.
Nandini nodded her head in a no in a childish manner.
Manik - Nandini please... I know that I have hurt you by my behaviour but trust me you are nowhere at fault. It's just that wo morning me...
Manik stopped midway as he didn't want to make Nandini more upset.
Nandini looked at Manik and said- Morning me kya??? Kya hua Manik???
Manik looked away and said - Kuch nahi. Let's go.
Manik started the car and drove to Malhotra Mansion.
Nandini could sense something wrong with Manik but she kept quiet as she didn't want to force Manik to tell her what's the matter.
Nandini- Manikkk... Hum kaha jarahe hai?
Manik - Mom ko Kuch important documents dene hai to we are going there.
Nandini just nodded her head and kept her head on Manik's shoulder and entwined their hands.
Manik gave a faint smile on Nandini's antics and continued the driving.
Malhotra Mansion -
Nyonika was setting the breakfast table and Raj was busy in his phonecalls.
Nyonika rolled her eyes and said- Raj... Kya kar rahe ho aap? Manik aata hi hoga. Yahan aaiye. Phone calls baad me kar Lena. Wo Kya sochega ki kaise Dad hai mere jinhe mere ghar aane ki koi Khushi hi nahi hai.
Raj disconnected the call and said- Offo Nyonika tum to aise bolrahi ho Jaise Manik foreign se aaraha hai. Tum aur tumhari philosophy... Manik aisa Kuch nahi sochega.
Nyonika - Haan Haan. Jaanti hoon. But fir bhi Acha thode hi na lagega. Ab zyada arguments mat kijiye aur chup chap yaha aaiye.
Raj sighed and went to Nyonika.
Raj- Haan batao Bhai kya kaam hai.
Nyonika was about to say something when Manik and Nandini entered the house.
Nyonika saw Manik and said to Raj- Lo aap bhi na... baaton me uljha dia mujhe. Manik aagaya.
Then Nyonika's eyes fell on Nandini.
Nyonika - Nandini Beta what a pleasant surprise... Acha hua tum bhi Manik ke sath aagayi. Mujhe Kuch baat karni thi tum dono se.
Nandini went and touched Nyonika and Raj's feet and took their blessings .
Nyonika - Manik tujhe kya hua itna chup kyu hai.
Manik - Nothing Mom... Bas thoda sa tired feel kar raha hoon. Nothing else.
Nyonika understood that Manik was lying.
Nyonika - Acha theek hai tum dono breakfast karlo fir baatein karenge.
Nandini - Mummyji maine breakfast kar lia hai already.
Nyonika - Koi baat nahi Beta. Zara sa khalo Hume company dene ke liye.
Nyonika and Raj along with Manik and Nandini sat at the breakfast table and had their breakfast.
All this while Nyonika observed that Manik was lost in his own world and he not for once looked at Nandini.
After the breakfast, Nyonika and Nandini went to the kitchen.
Nyonika - Nandini Beta tum dono ka jhagda hua hai kya? Manik ne tumse Kuch kaha kya?
Nandini - Nahi Mummyji aisa Kuch nahi hai...
Nyonika - Agar aise hai to batao mujhe. Mai daantunga Manik ko.
Nandini - Nahi Mummyji Manik ne Kuch nahi kaha mujhe.
Nyonika nodded and left.
Nandini - Manik ne Kuch kaha hi nahi. Yahi to problem hai. Pata nahi kya hogaya aisa ki Subah se wo itne khoye khoye lagrahe hai.
Nyonika went to Manik.
Manik - Mom ye rahi aapki file.
Nyonika took the file and kept it aside. She held Manik's hand and took him to her room .
Manik - Mom kya kar rahe ho aap?
Nyonika closed the door of her room and said- Ab batao kya baat hai. Tum dono me kya baat Hui hai Jo dono upset nazar aarahe ho. Aur sach sach batana. Jhoot bolne ki sochna bhi mat. Tumne Nandini ko observe Kia hai??? It looks like she has cried. Aisi Kya baat hogayi ek raat me ki tum Nandini ko avoid kar rahe ho????
Manik - Ok fine... Aap Sunna chahte ho na to suno. Jab mai storeroom me apki ye file dhundhne gaya tha to aap jaanti ho waha mujhe kya Mila???
Nyonika - Kya???
Manik - Anita ka photoframe...
Nyonika - What???? So?
Manik - Mom you are asking me so???
Nyonika - Haan. Mai puch rahi hoon. Anita ka photo dekhkar Tum Nandini ko avoid kar rahe ho??? Are you out of your mind?
Manik sat on the couch and covered his face with both his hands.
Manik - Mom mujhe Kuch samajh nahi aaraha??? Mai kya karoon aap hi bataiye. I had made a promise to myself and Anita infront of her photoframe that I would never ever marry anyone. And now??? When all of a sudden I saw her photo, it feels that I have cheated her. This feeling is killing me from inside. I don't know what to do????
Nyonika for a moment didn't know what to say .
She sat beside Manik and put her hand on his shoulder.
Manik removed his hands from his face and hugged Nyonika tightly.
Nyonika kept patting Manik's back.
