I have nothing much to add as everything has already been said and I was too disappointed as a fan yesterday to put down by thoughts coherently.
I will just say that when you want to highlight an issue and cause awareness by showing a s**t walk then please do your research about it and connect it to the story. Yes, a s**t walk is about having the right to choose what to wear but it is also about a woman's consent concerning any sexual activity regardless of her attire.

You cannot use a character like Mukti who had consensual sex and is now complaining about how she is being treated. This is one character who has used sex as a form of escapism. She has used the temptress avatar to bully boys.

So when her character is used, without showing her regret and introspection over her own actions, it really undermines a cause which requires a lot of courage.

Additionally, there is no rule that one has to wear short skirts to a s**t walk. The whole idea is that "What I wear should not dictate my sexual preferences".

I would urge MTV, the writers and the actors, if they have any say in the matter, to please bear this in mind when they are shooting this sequence. At least do not show us Nandini and Navya parading around in hot pants because that is not their character.

This is the most RIDICULOUS piece of nonsense possible...and yet again the REAL message will be lost in all the drooling over random MaNan romance going on on the side in all this.

They never do their research, do they?
They made the whole thing seem so shallow...it's not about clothes or being able to wear what one likes...it's so much deeper than that.
What is a ramp walk in a concert going to achieve?
Will it change the mindset of the people? Will it help Mukt gain her self-respect?
And I'm so sure we'll get some hawwwt scenes n the whole thing will end up becoming a farce.

The whole thing is so ridiculous and just plain shallow.
Mukti chose this life for herself and she was neither a victim, nor a scapegoat...like genie said, she is unapologetic of the choices she made n her condition does not bear any resemblance to all the people who have suffered sexual abuse for years.
Not only are they demeaning the whole movement that was to be, but also spreading the wrong message of superficiality.

I kinda disagree about Mukti here!
I would not support s**t walk here as they don't even know what they addressing! They are just making it big to sensationalize the matter and show! That doesn't serve anything! It would end up as mockery and nothing served!
People here in India aren't equipped with the movement and they would just go all over rather than getting anything! Plus, I have this huge doubt that even makers don't know what they are trying to convey! it's gonna end up as big mockery to the movement!

About Mukti!
Box! I didn't get what wrong she has done and what mistakes are we talking about?!
Her carelessness has landed her here but how does it takes away her right to become victim here?! She has been humiliated about sleeping with a guy and later about cloths! Whatever she does, it doesn't take her right to feel bad about her if she isn't able to deal with it! she is dealing with it like this!
A girl who has chosen her ways or conduct, Mukti! She was okay in sleeping with random guys! It was fine!
How does her conduct in past or recently takes away her right to feel bad if humiliated in public?!
Not many are strong enough to stand unaffected when cornered or taken over! She has chose it but that doesn't give media or anyone right to humiliate her. If she cries on that or feels helpless at the moment, it shouldn't be called playing victim. (Though it was unrealistic that media would make such remarks. In real, they stand up for causes instead of attacking the girl with such remarks)
Maybe girl could have given it back, that would be something Mukti-ish!
But she collapsed as she is emotionally weak who has committed her favorite old time pass and now unable to live with it, Now it affects her if random guys make nasty comments on her! Why it isn't acceptable?? People are weak sometimes!
Who doesn't commit mistakes??
She did and is doing but that doesn't take away her right to be weak or cry or maybe stand up or maybe give it back later on!
She is a bad girl! She can be a victim! A bad girl who sleeps with random guys, who always flaunts this habit, who once handled those jerks, who didn't give a damn what world says or tell her, NOW She gives a damn! If she has been chosen to give a message then why not!
Problem with this track is execution for me! They mixed Abhi-Mukti track with ItsNotYouItsUs track and now they would make a movement out of it, so yes there's execution issue which would make the issue go bouncer over people's head!

About making a mockery of thousand of victims by choosing Mukti here!!
Let it be Nandini, good girl or Mukti, a bad girl, fate is similar! i so wish they could show it both ways so that we can get how what kinda girl you are doesn't make any difference!

Just my opinion! 😊

If you're going to tackle social issues, do it with sensitivity and not for promotional gimmicks, that's all I'm saying.

agree it was not social crusade now it became when that politician interferes and was insulting a girl on social media how she should dress up and all and now all channels will show and people will be quiet this thing makes it social issue

Does Mukti deserve respect . She sure does . But she NEEDS to learn that she has been doing exactly the same thing all her life. The boys she used could have felt the same too- one did, was on verge of suicide too.
^^This is why this track fails.

Please don't demean the concept of s**t walk by using it so superficially here.

Why her Past matters - because she fails to see the point . Where Rocky stands , at some point she was there too. She mocked a victim too. WE WANT HER REMORSE. HER ADMITTANCE THAT SHE WAS WRONG TOO.

NOT A PITY PARTY WHICH CLEANS HER PAST SHEET.

Thank you sooo much for making this post .👏👏
This is a very sensitive matter and lately MTV hasn't been up to the mark in justifying such issues ,first it was with a Cancer Patient and now this. They so need to get their facts right before taking up such topics.
I Hope they see this post and make a note of it .

I think there are two separate issues - One is that of using clothes as an excuse to malign someone's character and the second one is to use someone's choice of physical relationship and using that also as a reason to s**t shame a woman. These are serious concerns in today's society, these reasons are used as weapons to degrade and discriminate against women. If a girl wears short/revealing/western clothes she is easy or characterless or asking for it but for a guy he is a stylish dude, if a girl wants to enjoy sex or sleep with multiple partners out of her free will she is a freaking s**t whereas a guy is a stud, the sexy bad guy and what not. This mentality has been dehumanizing a vast section of our population for generations, it used to be a slow poison but now it's an epidemic, and it needs to be treated strongly and correctly and sensitively and rigorously coz so many of us are suffering due to this mental sickness that does not think twice before taking away the dignity that a human deserves.
Now coming to this current track, its a mockery and a step backwards in the movement that has been going for so long because of how the story is being told. If instead of mukti it was alya it would have made more sense. But mukti fits into neither of the above mentioned situations, its not coz of what she is wearing that certainly caught attention coz she has been wearing that for past 160 episodeswithout slightest of scrutiny, nor is it coz her choice to sleep around, she has a consensual sex with a guy, when both of them were partially drunk ( so can't take out sober taking advantage of drunk) and then went bonkers. It's true that just coz she slept with the guy does not mean all guys shd treat her as easy or sexually harass her, in that case she shd have lodged a police complaint and the story cd have progressed from how the police was not taking her case seriously because she chooses her sleeping partners being unapologetic. but what did they show, manik beat up the guy coz he slept with mukti!!!

and now they are bringing in sunny leone to promote this cause, i don't see how she is even related, she is a freaking celebrity in this country irrespective of her past profession, so don't see her contribution in this movement.

sorry for the long essay, in short i m truly disappointet in teh treatment of this track by the cvs who did a gr8 job earlier with the coming out of closet track.

Mukti sleeping with a lot of guys, wouldnt have been a problem if it is not seen by Mukti as if she was doing something wrong. Some people sleep with multiple partners and are unapologetic about it, but when Mukti herself feels cheap and demeaned after it and then yet repeats it yet again when she is feeling low, then its a problem. Right from before Abhimanyu came, I had a problem with this track for this very reason. Mukti's problem is not Harshad or Abhimanyu or Rocky. Its her own perception of her self. Her low self- worth makes her seek out men and relationships as a crutch and now by concentrating on a superfical wound instead of addressing the deep-rooted injury, they havent addressed Mukti or her issues well. Mukti deserves better too.

I'm not questioning Mukti's lifestyle or her choices. It's not about being a good girl or a bad girl, or her being weak.
Like you said, half the problem lies in the execution, and the other half lies in the utter hypocrisy of this whole thing. Her 'mistake' is not sleeping with Rocky; her 'mistake' is publicly shaming other guys by pulling this temptress-act, and NEVER regretting it. THAT is why I've a problem when they use Mukti as the symbol of this cause. If we're going to deal with gender issues, why not have some equality first?
& thanks for leaving your opinion. :)

True empowerment works only if Mukti understood she does not need a man to complete herself and that loss of a relationship does not mean that you self-destruct repeatedly. What has happened now is that message of Mukti understanding that she doesnt need to pitch fork herself repeatedly into situations where she lands up doing something stupid is lost. What has Mukti understood from all this?

Bang on! I wanted them to show that she was wrong. But then the society has always supported females on this issue even when they are wrong. 🥱
