I would not support s**t walk here as they don't even know what they addressing! They are just making it big to sensationalize the matter and show! That doesn't serve anything! It would end up as mockery and nothing served!

People here in India aren't equipped with the movement and they would just go all over rather than getting anything! Plus, I have this huge doubt that even makers don't know what they are trying to convey! it's gonna end up as big mockery to the movement!

About Mukti!
Box! I didn't get what wrong she has done and what mistakes are we talking about?!
Her carelessness has landed her here but how does it takes away her right to become victim here?! She has been humiliated about sleeping with a guy and later about cloths! Whatever she does, it doesn't take her right to feel bad about her if she isn't able to deal with it! she is dealing with it like this!
A girl who has chosen her ways or conduct, Mukti! She was okay in sleeping with random guys! It was fine!
How does her conduct in past or recently takes away her right to feel bad if humiliated in public?!
Not many are strong enough to stand unaffected when cornered or taken over! She has chose it but that doesn't give media or anyone right to humiliate her. If she cries on that or feels helpless at the moment, it shouldn't be called playing victim. (Though it was unrealistic that media would make such remarks. In real, they stand up for causes instead of attacking the girl with such remarks)
Maybe girl could have given it back, that would be something Mukti-ish!
But she collapsed as she is emotionally weak who has committed her favorite old time pass and now unable to live with it, Now it affects her if random guys make nasty comments on her! Why it isn't acceptable?? People are weak sometimes!
Who doesn't commit mistakes??
She did and is doing but that doesn't take away her right to be weak or cry or maybe stand up or maybe give it back later on!
She is a bad girl! She can be a victim! A bad girl who sleeps with random guys, who always flaunts this habit, who once handled those jerks, who didn't give a damn what world says or tell her, NOW She gives a damn! If she has been chosen to give a message then why not!
Problem with this track is execution for me! They mixed Abhi-Mukti track with ItsNotYouItsUs track and now they would make a movement out of it, so yes there's execution issue which would make the issue go bouncer over people's head!

About making a mockery of thousand of victims by choosing Mukti here!!
Let it be Nandini, good girl or Mukti, a bad girl, fate is similar! i so wish they could show it both ways so that we can get how what kinda girl you are doesn't make any difference!

Just my opinion!😊

I agree with the fact that any girl can be avictim be it the plain jane or the badass attitude one. But the problem here is that Mukti herself made fun of Shahid and almost forced him to suicide. She bullied Nandani and Navya ina very bad way. And now she acts as a victim doesn't go down well.

Like you said, half the problem lies in the execution, and the other half lies in the utter hypocrisy of this whole thing. Her 'mistake' is not sleeping with Rocky; her 'mistake' is publicly shaming other guys by pulling this temptress-act, and NEVER regretting it. THAT is why I've a problem when they use Mukti as the symbol of this cause. If we're going to deal with gender issues, why not have some equality first?
& thanks for leaving your opinion. :)

Bold is her past! She has done a lot of mistakes and humiliated a lot of innocents using temptress act!
In present, she has been dealing with these jerks who didn't ask for her consent before circulating her number, or didn't ask if they could use power to humiliate her!
I don't get which connection here weakens her case!
She didn't learn anything from her past! I pity her!
She did a long list of mistakes, she hasn't learnt a thing! Does it anything to do with current situation??! Mukti and her regret-less self is seperate issues which CVs need to focus on! Her getting molested is separate issue!😳
She as symbol of cause??! she can be a representative that too a strong one if they had given a proper emotional connect to the issue itself but not some particular person! I agree on that point!
Like how even a girl like her gets exposed to these social shame of being molested! But Yes, there should be more to it! Like giving it a broader perspective by connecting to other female characters, I mean all!
That would have made the stand concrete but if Mukti has been chosen then yes, they need some good execution here! 😳

I think our issue here is we feel her underlying issue is being glossed over for a superficial issue. Sure this clothes thing and s**t-walk happens, people back off and regret etc, but what about Mukti? Where is her realisation in all of this? What if tomorrow she gets into a situation where there is no return, what if she lands up going with a stranger in a bar and never comes back? Where is Mukti's real problem being addressed?

the problem with mukti is on sooo many levels that i will get tired of counting:
she is self destructive, but when her friends call out on that or rather try to show how she is wrong she is never willing to listen to them and is the first one to start throwing pity party for herself

it's not that she is confident of having multiple sex partners, she herself feels guilty over it, mind u not coz she thinks she is using ppl as a temporary distraction, she is not confident of herself physically, coz somewhere down the line she thinks it's wrong/harmful thing to do.

so when u dont resolve her deep rooted psychological issues, its hard to understand on what grounds we are standing by her: her right to wear skimpier clothes which hardly ever is an issue in space, her right to choose bed partners when she herself hates the fact that she has sex with random guys!!

ofcourse what that politician guy and rocky guy did was beyond horrible and needs to protested, no two ways about it, but these incidents or this track got introduced to side track all the earlier self-harm, low self esteem, volatile, stubborn to the point of blind etc etc character traits of mukti which is not fair on the audience, because CVs want them to forget the character they are seeing for last 169 episodes and say halla bol for shoving down this incident down their/our throats.

Adhi! I am trying to get the point here which is kinda legit but what if they aren't trying to give her a free pass!
What if Mukti's issue doesn't get overlapped and would be dealt later on! Like Cabir, Manik and Nandini were right to tell how reckless Mukti was! Those voices would be heard otherwise I don't see the point in voicing them
I think she would learn to be cautious. A Mukti who returned from boys hostel deserved to be told how reckless she was. She would learn with each step here that how things can land you up in something so shitty! I hope so!
Introducing molestation here, of course not a right time and way but if has been introduced, then can serve a few things as yes they can address a few things using Mukti. It's like now we have it, we have this situation, and what if Its Mukti!
Mukti needs a proper redemption! I agree! I would love to see her concerns getting addressed!😳

@Past matters - Her mistakes were also molestation harrassment- MMS scam, posting nude pics all around the campus.
If they wanted to link it with Mukti , they had to show her realizing how she has played the other guys like that too. Just because she is a girl doesn't mean our sympathizes should be with her.

Her own realization that hey I was wrong, I played others too and now the same is happening to me is missing. Here they rather than working on those lines chose to abruptly switch it up and made it all about her lifestyle choices. This glossies her mistakes, enables her further and she on-screen feels justified and takes herself being right.

Yesterday when Cabir told her that she was wrong. She was WRONG. But no remorse , she made it all about victim playing.

Her need to use random sex is all wrong. Not everytime the control and power balance be tilted in her favour and this she should have learned from her experience. Making it a lifestyle issue immediately seems like a superficial attempt to sell Mukti in any which way.

IT IS ABOUT A HUMAN BEING ASKING TO BE TREATED LIKE ONE.

f**k OFF IF YOU CAN'T GET THAT, AND DON'T MAKE A MOCKERY OUT OF THE COURAGE THAT IT TAKES TO DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS.

YOU WANT TO PROP UP A LAME WHINY CHARACTER AND THROW AN ENDLESS PITY-PARTY FOR HER? GO RIGHT AHEAD. BUT DON'T MOCK THE PAIN OF MILLIONS BY TURNING THIS GIRL INTO A SYMBOL OF VICTIMHOOD.

YOU WANT A SKIN-SHOW AND FREE PUBLICITY? GO DO THAT. BUT DON'T LABEL IT A 'SOCIAL CAUSE' AND MAKE A JOKE OUT OF THE ENTIRE ISSUE.

YOU WANT TO BE A SOCIALLY RELEVANT SHOW? HOW ABOUT MAKING YOUR CHARACTERS EXAMINE THEIR OWN CONDUCT FIRST? THEIR OWN MISTAKES THAT HAVE BROUGHT THEM HERE? BUT NO, YOU'D RATHER HAVE THE BIGGEST PITY-PARTY IN TOWN FOR YOUR WEAKEST CHARACTER AND EXPECT US TO IGNORE EVERYTHING AND SYMPATHISE BECAUSE...HEY, s**t-WALKS BE THE "IN-THING".

WELL-DONE.

THANK YOU BUT I AIN'T WATCHING THIS SHIT.

Okay, I apologize if I am reading this wrong but what has Mukti did in this particular situation to 'call it upon herself'?
She consented to sex with a douchebag and regretted it in the morning. She went into that seedy bar alone without informing anyone and it was an enormously stupid thing to do. But, how do any of these things make the public humiliation that she faced her fault? And not once, but repeatedly. Sleeping with a random dude didn't give the boys in the hostel the right to harass her like that. Stupidly going to a bar doesn't mean that she brought the public shaming that happened today on herself.
Apart from the whole 'she asked for it' vibe that I keep getting from the posts here, I agree that this whole STORYLINE IS f**kING STUPID, MAKE IT GO AWAY, I DON'T WANT IT IN MY SHOW. As a concept, I love the idea of them going after s**t shaming but the execution is so dumb. The writers are really astute and I wish they would have put more thought in making the point come across in a more effective way and writing it well.
Oh PS:the thing about Mukti victimizing men in the past. I don't see why a perpetrator cannot be a victim too. If this thing is about cosmic justice of Mukti being glorified here without being called out of her own bullying in the past, then I agree. I feel the thing they did with Cabir and his penance was similar and it deeply unsettled me too. When Harshad released the tape about Cabir and publicly shamed him, the show kind of simultaneously tried to sell it as penance for what Cabir did to his victims AND used it to champion LGBTQ rights. Here too, Mukti is concurrently a perpetrator who is facing the same shaming she put her victims through and a glorified victim in her own right.
