There is nothing idealistic about this love or this relationship...that is the whole point...they are young and confused...Manik's mistakes are different from Nandini's...so to vilify Manik for supposedly not trusting in Nandini's love for him...that really isn't the point...When Manik told Dhruv that he'd have backed off earlier had he known this is how Dhruv felt, what he meant was that he would have fought harder to stay away from Nandini...
But circumstances were meant to spiral out of control...Manik gave in to his feelings for Nandu...His confession to her was very telling...it was all about what HE would mean to her...he wanted to mean that to HER and no one else...he never did exactly articulate what he would be doing for her...this is what I mean when I say young love...it's confused and selfish...even in the middle of "sacrifice"...Manik's sacrifice right now is all for Dhuv...he really hasn't thought through Nandu's part in it...he probably figured that Nandu has always liked Dhruv well enough so it won't be as much of a hardship for her...It's easier for most ppl to accept Manik as the villain anyways.
Agree with the TM about young love and its fragilities, indeed well expressed. But I wouldn't highlight or make Nandu's trust (or lack thereof like the TM says) the sole example to describe young love etc. Agreed that Nandu's trust was shaken and Manik's attempt succeeded but didn't Manik's Love and his own belief in his Love (let alone trust) for Nandini fell short in the first place itself? His love fell weak due to which he resorted to the sacrifice melodrama.
a very good post !
they are still 19 or 20 and have a lot to learn about love and the worldyes both of them promised to trust each other but when the time came to actually trust both of them backed outi for a moment was hoping that maybe Nandhin will sense a change in his tone and will look into his eyes because manik can not lie through his eyes and that is the reason why he turned so that she could not see the love and pain in his eyes , and yet he could not control his hearts desirehe wanted her to stop him , to hug him instantly and to ensure him that everything will be okay and if she would have just hugged him then i am sure he would have broken downbut she did not because she still is not experienced in this matter , its her first time and all this is a very different feeling for herand like you said she in some corner of her heart had not forgotten Monster Manik , thats why she instantly guessed it that the monster is backthey both need to go through this test so that they can come out stronger
@ bold aboveYeah agreed that he is confused and in a state of shock, reeling from it rather but it's common knowledge that there is Big difference in liking someone and loving someone. So the above means to say exactly what I meant earlier, that Nandini has "figured" just that much in his whole decision that he "supposed" she will like DHruv well enough to love him. Very absurdHe did WANT to mean all that to her, but only because she didn't say her wishes, wouldn't she expect the same from him too? Her not SAYING all that doesn't mean that it's all only Manik's due.Nandini's trust was shaken (shown very realistically) because she was also hit hard like Manik has been by dhruv's confession. She was also reeling from his word which came like bullets, her ears must have been ringing too much to give her TIME enough to hear Manik's murmured words and ay attention to them. Both of them are reeling so both should be termed as showing lack of trust and faith in each other.@underlined boldNo one is ever ready to think the worse of the hero until and unless he is shown falling weak. Weakness is not exactly a quality belonging to villains
And I already said in my post that both their trusts faltered...Manik's fault is that he didn't put faith in his love to overcome the Dhruv issue...as usual he put himself on the line for the sake of his friend...hurting Nandu is a cross he has to bear.
I don't think you are still understanding my point...Manik is not blameless in this situation...I never said that what he did was right...ofcourse he hasn't been fair to Nandu with the way he took control of the situation and executed it as he saw fit...but at the same time that does not in any way mean that he didn't think of Nandu at all...he made what he saw as a hard choice...b/w two ppl he loves dearly...so collateral damage...And I already said in my post that both their trusts faltered...Manik's fault is that he didn't put faith in his love to overcome the Dhruv issue...as usual he put himself on the line for the sake of his friend...hurting Nandu is a cross he has to bear.

@ bold..i love how u worded it..yes he did not had faith in the love rather than Nandini...he basically lacks understanding of love...i dont know if he had really understood the meaning of his own line when he said to Cabir "u cant leave love incomplete" ? was it cabir or someone else ..grr forgot 😆
Yep agreed to all of the above. It's just that you highlighted that Nandini's trust got shaken easily but that was actually quite realistically shown compared to how easily and quickly Manik's sacrifice decision was taken.
