Ahh young love😆...it's one thing to get caught up in the euphoria of it and make undying promises of love and trust, it's a whole another thing to actually live up to those promises.

I always felt that these promises came a little too early for Manik-Nandini...over just a few incidents, they started to claim undying trust for each other...and today when that trust was tested severely, they both crumbled proving that they still have a long way to go in truly understanding love and trust.

This is not to say they didn't trust each other...they very much did...if Nandu didn't trust him, she wouldn't have submitted herself to him the way she did...but that is one kind of trust...the other kind of trust which got tested today involved UNDERSTANDING Manik...if she truly understood him, that DOUBT that crept into her mind the moment he dropped hints of him having tricked her wouldn't have been there.

The most significant moment of the scene was that one...when Manik turns away and murmurs for her to stop him if she really thinks he's kidding...but Nandini's trust was instantly shaken...there was only one feeble attempt from her wondering if he was joking with her before Manik very convincingly pulled his most evil acting yet to convince her of his betrayal.

I can't blame Nandu there either cuz she's young, innocent and relies a lot on her instincts...she totally went with instinct when it came to Manik...never really paused to question much even as her feelings for him changed from hatred to love...and that is why this relationship didn't really have the strong basis it needed to survive this test of trust...there is still a LOT they have to learn and understand about each other...

Manik has used his Monster Manik persona as a weapon or defense mechanism for most of his life it seems...and when it came time for extreme measures to break Nandu's heart and make her let go of him, this was the only sureshot way of getting it done...but I think somewhere in a corner of his heart, he was hoping against hope that she won't believe this...that she would look beyond the facade and truly know him, show faith in him...it's a paradox but there it is...

One's heart goes out to Nandu as she says that she's new to all this, that she doesn't know what he's saying...heartbreaking moment...what it must have taken for Manik to still sneer in her face so convincingly to convince her without a doubt that he is the monster of her worst nightmares...

If Nandu didn't still believe somewhere inside her that he really IS Monster Manik, she wouldn't have fallen for his act so convincingly today...so the trust is fragile from both sides...it is unfair of Manik to first ask for her implicit trust and then do his worst to shatter it like this...but then there it is...they were both wrong when they thought that he could so easily ask for her trust and she would so easily give it to him...

The real test starts now...and this time the trust should be fought for in a harder fashion and then won truly...that is when it will actually last and stand strong in the face of any challenge.

exactly..its is more easier said than done...😆..

yes indeed..i was thinking on the same lines..they r too young to stay hold with such heavy promises to each other ..no wonder it all came crumbling down when the time came to actually act upon it..but i guess it was not that easy for nandu the way manik presented his betrayal.. he was way too convincing though he was on and off faltering in this mission but those emotions got unnoticed by nandu...may be coz as u told she somewhere still believed there is monster manik in him..so that complete trust is still lacking which is kind of understandable.

This is not to say they didn't trust each other...they very much did...if Nandu didn't trust him, she wouldn't have submitted herself to him the way she did...but that is one kind of trust...the other kind of trust which got trusted today involved UNDERSTANDING Manik...if she truly understood him, that DOUBT that crept into her mind the moment he dropped hints of him having tricked her wouldn't have been there.

i think breaking trust is always easier than building a trust...so for manik his mission was relatively easy...and put together their past interaction the trust factor from nandu's side has to be fragile..

yes indeed ..it was a crucial scene..as u said he somewhere wanted her to believe him still..coz it was nandu who had always understood his distress and the one had actually been able to look through him...

@bold..totally second that..its the foundation which is missing may be its coz their love is really new...it was just the beginning of their journey so got easily succumbed to unfavorable circumstances..

i must say he was really good at it..nandini had no chance

If Nandu didn't still believe somewhere inside her that he really IS Monster Manik, she wouldn't have fallen for his act so convincingly today...so the trust is fragile from both sides...it is unfair of Manik to first ask for her implicit trust and then do his worst to shatter it like this...but then there it is...they were both wrong when they thought that he could so easily ask for her trust and she would so easily give it to him...
I am little unsure if trust is fragile from Manik's side too ?? ..can we count it as lacking in trust when he is not confiding the truth to Nandini ???
The real test starts now...and this time the trust should be fought for in a harder fashion and then won truly...that is when it will actually last and stand strong in the face of any challenge.

yes the real test starts now..i am thinking whether nandini like always will try to look beyond the obvious happenings ?? or will she succumb to this betrayal..?? coz building the trust all over again wont be that easy..will she confide this to anyone or fight all alone..?? this time its really gonna be tough for both of them to fight their feelings for each other ..

@bold: Very good point...yes it takes a lot of painstaking effort to BUILD trust...and just one moment to shatter it...Manik-Nandini hadn't REALLY built trust very strongly b/w them...hence the ease with which it broke...they need this trial by fire to actually build that trust firstly.

Ofcourse Nandu was very vulnerable in that moment...you can't help but feel bad for her...this sweet little thing so full of joy and love in her eyes...she believed wholeheartedly in the fairytale her fireflies indicated...but I still can't overlook the fact that she believed the worst of Manik a little too easily...INSTANTLY her mind jumped to the worst conclusion with just a little glimpse of the old Monster Manik...what about other memories like the time she saw him looking at the star lamp she gifted him and him murmuring "she remembers"...none of this came back to her...cuz yes somewhere despite all the rosy hues of this newly discovered love, she still wasn't fully convinced that he is not Monster Manik...

Funnily enough it wasn't until yesterday that she switched his name from "Monster Manik" to just Manik in her phone😆...She didn't do it back on Diwali when he made his feelings clear to her...so what does that say? She loved him despite his Monster ways? Or that she thought that he was just a Monster for other people and not her? It's open to speculation...or it could be simply that she didn't have any time to THINK given the HIGH of love that she was floating on since Diwali😆

Regarding Manik's trust...well he passed that test yesterday when Cabir accused Nandu of having revealed his secret...he showed his trust in Nandu there...today was a trust of Nandu's trust more than Manik's trust...and Nandu crumbled more easily than him...cuz she was more vulnerable than him in this moment...there is nothing more vulnerable than a young girl in love...she has all these hopes and dreams lighting up her eyes...the world hasn't yet hardened her into cynicism.

As for confiding in Nandini...Manik has a tendency to take all burdens on to himself and solve problems for the ones he loves...he does it with his motley crew of five dysfunctional friends as well...and whether or not Nandu asked for it, this is the only way Manik knows of to help the ones he loves...he took it all upon himself and did it the way he thought would be best...he probably knew that Nandu would never leave him willingly...and he had to make her hate him for Dhruv's sake...This is not to say that Manik's way of solving this problem is correct...but it's in character...if he didn't go to extremes to do something for Dhruv, he wouldn't be Manik.

Going forward, I see a Nandu emerging stronger no doubt...fueled in major parts with a stronger than ever hatred for Manik...but as we all know...there is a very thin line b/w love and hate😆

I think for a while toh Nandu ki batti nahin jalegi ki something is off...even in the last scene, Manik's eyes are SO vulnerable as he looks at her...ofcourse he'll switch his expression soon...and Nandu doesn't trust her heart anymore to read his eyes...she feels betrayed over what she thought she saw in his eyes...but maybe some incidents will happen where Manik won't be able to hide his feelings for her and Nandu might get thinking again...

I liked it when Nandini asks Manik if it's all a silly joke of his and asks him to stop. His expression changes and he faces away from her and murmers, " Are you sure... Nandini? Then stop me!". His heart wanted her to stop him. He wanted her to rubbish all what he was saying to her and say that she trusts his love. But instead, Nandini chose to believe what she heard than her own heart ... and Manik was shattered... He turned to a Monster again!

Exactly...that was the most crucial bit...almost like the final desperate attempt from Manik...hoping Nandu will pull him back from the brink like she always does when he goes into self-destructive mode...but this one time, Nandu's faith shook and that was his cue...despair took over and he gave in to being the Monster she suspected him to be...

Where there is trust, there is no shaq...the fact that Nandu voiced that she was doubting him was where it all started to unravel.

i guess u r right when u say that monster manik has made more impact on her than the lover manik... mainly coz its monster manik who spent more time with her than the latter... bad events wear off more slowly than good ones... and secondly the love phase had just begun ..only just a night ago they had confessed..the trust would have grown more if they had gotten some days..but timing of dhruv's confession did all the damage...i am wondering would manik had taken the same decision if it was some time later into their relationship ? even then would he have forsaken it for Dhruv ? may be yes..

nandu is now heartbroken n will hate manik but somewhere in her heart she might have remains of that trust on him ...just like the glow of the ashes and it might need only some circumstances or situations to flame it out..

and yes a good point to ponder about the phone thingy..may be the KISS did the magic..:P

so true..the moment he realised it ..he lost even that last hope..how badly he wanted nandini to trust despite whatever rubbish he was uttering to her..but i guess he was expecting too much too soon.

Indeed😆

Yes, Monster Manik has made the most impact on Nandu...that is the side of Manik that she has seen the most...he has always successfully confused her by displaying that persona...it's rare that she's managed to see past that persona of his...

True...trust was in it's nascent stages right now...with time it might have solidified more and withstood this test possibly...

But then it's all just been timed so well...Manik and Nandu could sense each other's feelings but they both wanted to hear it from the other's mouth first...Manik much more than Nandu...and looked at in a certain light, it can be considered suspicious that he only wanted to hear her say that she loves him...to elaborate what she thinks of him now...so that left room open for the misunderstanding to take hold...that she was just a challenge he wanted to win.

In that sense the writers have been smart about it...OFFICIAL love confession nahin hua😆...they saved it for later I guess...round 2 of when these two get together😆

Regarding your question...yes I think Manik would still have tried this method even if they'd progressed further in their relationship...whether Nandu would have believed it as easily then or not is open to speculation.

Waise there seem to be bigger troubles ahead for Fab 5 now with Cabir's secret out to everyone...this will only make Cabir and the group hate Nandu more...Manik will have to manage that too...

Now even if Nandu accidentally sees Manik's true feelings surface from time to time, she will find it hard to believe and trust what she sees...always wondering if this is some new plan of his to trick her.
