~~~BLIND (PART-3)~~~

They both stood still, staring at each other. It felt like the whole room has become quiet, the music,people,colorful lights everything was gone vanished in thin air. It was only two of them looking at each other. All the memories, beautiful -ugly, were revolving around them.
'Is it actually him??'' thought nandini 'he is here, he is back, he came''
Not once did the hatred conquer her, how could it? Cause his one touch made her forget that.
The touch reminded her only of the happiness he had given her not the agony.
Somebody turned on the white lights and with that Nandini again came back to her reality.
It was Manik Malhotra, the monster. All the pain came back to nandini.
The betrayal, the insult, torture everything. Her eyes again got filled with tears but this time it was for hatred. But she held back the tears. How can she let him see that she still longed for his love? No she can't, Nanidni Moorthy is strong and no one can make her weak.

Manik?????????

mukti almost jumped towards manik.

'we missed you so much yaar. Kaise bhul geya tu apne dosto ko?? Yaad ati thi humari??''

manik smiled and nodded. Nadini was still standing there looking at him. She realized that she hated him but she didn't realize that even if it was because of hatred but still she was staring at him, thinking about him.

'I am so glad manik ki tu aya..itni dino baad''

Mukti hugged him again.

Cabir came.

'Cabir dekh kisei pakar k layi aaj''

Cabir looked at manik, he knew, he was the only one who knew that manik was standing in the same position as him. Both have lost their true loves. Both had that pain in their eyes. The only difference was everyone could see Cabir's one but no one could see Manik's one. How could they?? Because manik had covered that pain with a thick blanket of anger and rudeness. His friends sympatised with him but no one bothered to ask Manik and it was maybe because manik himself didn't give them a chance to. Maybe this was the disadvantage of being the strongest one, of being the wall of the group.
Everyone thought he went away to persue his career but it was only Cabir who knew the reason, which was standing just beside Cabir. Nandini Moorthy.

'Kaisa hai tu??'' asked Cabir while hugging him.

'Yeh aur kaisa hoga...jo sab ka kheyal rakhta hai vo khud tou thik hi hoga'' said Mukti.

'kabhi kabhi jo sab ka kheyal rakhta hai usei hi sabse zyada khayal ki zaroorat hoti hai'
said cabir looking at Nandini. But she didn't see his look because she was busy staring at the man she hated.

'Manik'' said Dhruv

Dhruv was over the moon to see his buddy. He hugged him.

'Kaisa hain tu?? Itne dino baad''

manik smiled, still silenced.

Dhruv,still holding Manik, said 'Tu janta hain kitna yaad kya humne tujhe..phir kabhi aisa bina kahe maat chale jana..thik hai??''
manik nodded. Dhruv gave a pat on his shoulder.
'I guess I need a drink'' Manik said looking at Mukti.
And before Mukti could tell him where the drinks are kept he moved away from there, as if he needed a reason to just walk away from Nandini.

Manik reached the table where the glasses were kept.
'She is still the same that same angry look, the eyes, those long silky hair but still something is changed''
Thought Manik. That touch, he was still thinking about how he caught her from falling.
"I wish I could always catch you when you fall'' and his eyes got all wet.

He was so rude and heartless to her on that night. He had promised her that he will never hurt her ever again but then again he broke the promise. Not only the promise but her heart he shattered it to pieces.
And it killed him.
She was bleeding but he was the one going through the pain.
He couldn't let Dhruv, his best-friend.. his brother, loose his first love. So, he sacrificed his love.
Then that day when Dhruv proposed to her infront of the whole collage he tried hard to cover his agony with that mockery face to make her think that he is not there for her but someone else is...and she said yes.Dhruv got his happiness, HIS shinning star will now brighten up his bestfriend. He couldn't bear it any longer the harsh truth of letting her go away from him. He had already decided that he will go away from Nandini's life and now he gave Dhruv what he wanted and now he must leave...leave to never come back...but he so wanted to turn to see her once..but even that was too aching for him.

Manik?'' Someone placed a hand on his shoulder.
He turned to find out it was Aliya.
"'hey Aliya'' said Manik.
"how are you?'' said Aliya hugging him.
Manik just nodded.
And there he saw nandini standing by the window and staring outside.
Aliya kept talking but Manik was all lost.
'Did I do a mistake choosing friendship over love??'' Manik questioned himself.
She was all the same but yet so different. Why was her eyes still so dull? Why couldn't he see that glow in her eyes which he saw on those days...those days...the most memorable days of his lives...spending time with her, chasing her as if she was a kid, playing with her dupatta,,,,kissing her.
He kept looking at her. Dhruv was talking but she...why was she just staring at dhruv like a dead corpse??
'Are you listening??'' asked Aliya putting her hand on his shoulder.
'Oh yeah ummm Aliya I need to make a call..soo..
'oh sure manik, I will catch will later''
Manik took his phone in his hand and kept looking at it until Aliya left.
He then looked up and she was still standing there with Dhruv.
he couldn't bear it anymore and left without realizing something has slipped away from his hand.

Dhruv was still talking but a single word didn't get into her ears. She was all lost thinking about him..he was here..is he still the monster??or he is that guy...the guy..a lump came to her throat.
;;Dhruv I will get some water''
'You wait I will go and get it''
'No its ok dhruv, vaise bhi waha navya hain mujhe usse kuch baat karna hain'. And Nandini left.
She went and stood beside the table just where manik was standing.
'Manik yaha kya kar raha hai'' asked Navya appearing from thin air.
'Main kya janu??Kaun lagti hoon main uski??Mujhe kya pata?? AND YOU KNOW WHAT I DON'T CARE I JUST DON'T GIVE A DAMN!!!"' snapped nandini
Navya was a bit taken back but she thought of handling nandu first.
'Thik hain nandu, its ok, pani piye gi??''
'hmm and I am sorry..vo main baas''
'Its ok samajh ti hoon main tujhei''
Navya took a glass and was looking for a bottle of water when she saw something.
'Arei yeh phone kiska hain??''
Navya took the phone. Nandini didn't even bother to look.
Navya pressed the home button and she was astonished.

'Kya hua??'
Navya flashed the phone infront of nandini's face
Nandini was looking...she was looking...at herself.
It was her picture in the home-screen...it was her.. flaunting a smile and being so happy.
'Dhruv ka phone hai yeh??' asked navya.
'nahi'' said nandini softly. Her heart was throbbing.
'Navya last dialled number press kar aur phone mujhe de''. She did as nandini said.

Nandini's heart was in her mouth and her hands were all cold. she wanted to know if it was the same person she was expecting it to be. But how can it be him?? He doesn't love her...he told her but still why did her heart wanted it to be him...why she wanted it to be his phone..

it was ringing...

ringing...

'heello'' answered a girl

nandini kept quite.

'Manik??tui kuch bol kyu nahi raha hain??'' answered mukti.

Nandini Moorthy was shattered...AGAIN.
