Chapter 20

Adi sees maithili in the car looking outside the window. He sees her fiddling with a chain and has a flashback of when they both were kids

Flashback
Two children are fighting over a chain, one boy and one girl
"adi!!!" the girl yells
"maithili!!!" the boy yells
M: adi give me the chain!!! Its my dadi's!!!!
A: no its my dadi's!!!!

The chain is shown, it's a beautiful Silver OM pendant with a silver cirle studded with Amethyst gems on it. It has two parts, to it, the Amethyst encrusted circle and the design OM. Both kids are pulling on the chain when Janki devi comes.
J; arey! Yeh tum dono kya kar rahe ho?
A: look dadi!!! She wants the pendant…tell her its mine!!
M: no!! its mine!!!
Janki smiles and takes the pendant from both of them. She takes it to the jewellers and separates it, so the circle is on one chain and the OM is on the other chain. She gives the OM to adi and the circle with Amethyst gems to maithili

Adi looks at Maithili fiddling with the pendant and gets irritated
A: maithili! What are you doing!! Be careful with that!!
maithili scowls and gets a phone call.

"ok tannu…what!! Mamma said that! hmm…ok I'll see…oh janki dadi said that!…umm..ok!"

A: what happened?
M: apparently, we have to bathe in a holy river..hey I can see the river!!
A: no no no! I'm not getting wet!!
M; Janki and Prerna dadi said so!
A: ok!

Both adi and maithili get into the river and immerse their selves in it.
Adi finished doing so 3 times and came out of the water. Maithili followed suit. He gave her a towel and noticed her chain had gone
Maithili looked worried: adi!! My chain!! Its gone!!
Adi gave her an angry look and went in the water. He dived in and searched for the chain…he found it and came up to the surface.

He held up the chain to maithili… "maithili I told you to keep this chain safe…Kyunki ek ke bina doosra adhoora hai – without one, the other is incomplete. And this is janki dadi's chain so be careful…" saying so he puts it round her. A fisher woman passing by gasps
"haila!! Saab yeh aapne kya kiya ! sirf ek pati apni patni ko haar pehnata hai!!" – only a husband ties a chain to his wife
Adi scowls and dismisses her words.
"come now!!" he grunts at maithili and she quietly follows.

When the two reach the jeep, adi is shocked. Some thugs holding hockey bats are surrounding Adi's car…
"hey!!! Get away from my car!!"
Adi runs to the thugs and they smirk at him, there're about 4 of them.
"chill dude!! We just want you're ride!! Or else!!" the guy threatens adi with a hockey bat and adi grits his teeth.
Maithili comes running to adi … "adi..let them take the jeep!" she whispers standing behind him.
One of the thugs says "hey guys! How about..with the jeep we take…lets say a perk!! The girl!!" the other thugs start laughing and advance towards maithili.
Maithili holds adi's arm tightly and he puts his hand on her reassuringly. As soon as one thug tries to touch maithili, adi punches him. The other thugs come forewords with hockey bats and try to hit adi but his reflexes are very quick and he avoids them. He punches the guys. One thug grabs maithili and pulls her hair. Adi punches the guy and the guy pushes maithili into adi's arms and runs off. All the thugs run off. And Maithili is in the same position, hugging adi. Tears drop from her eyes and she grips adi tighter.
Adi feels very strange, but hugs her. "shh..it's ok…its ok" he soothingly says while patting her head "they're gone"
Both adi-mets drove in silence to the hotel and got out
A: can we have our room keys please..rooms booked under Vikram Aditya Mehra and maithili Bajaj
Receptionist: here's the keys sir…that'll be 40 000 rupees please
Adi panicked as he searched around for his wallet.
"mets..its not here!!" he whispered to maithili
Maithili came foreword… "what !!!!"
"I think the thugs took it!!" adi grumbled..
maithili nodded and opened her purse…she only had 20 000 in her bag..
R: maam, that'll only pay for one room
A: what!! Maithili!!! How can you go around carrying only 20000 in your purse!!!
"well aditya Mehra!! I can't exactly carry the bank of India in my purse!! Plus..its you're fault!!"
"my fault!!! How the hell was it my fault!!" adi yelled
"you shouldn't have tried to be hero--- you just cpould have given you're car off!!"

"you're so ungreatful!!!" adi yelled..."i've had enough! stop argueing with me and lets just go into the room" Adi yelled and a sulking maithili follows

Awww how cute, they will share one room 😳 😳 cute loved the entire situation 😳 😳 cant wait for the next part. 👏 👏
