Chapter 21

Adi walks ahed while maithili follows…

A: umm…oyu carry on..i'll come back…

M: why?? Where are you going?

A: to flirt with the receptionist! She does look kinda hot!

M: uggh!!

Adi goes up to the receptioninst…

A: um excuse me…who is the room booked on?

R: it is booked on Miss Maihtili Bajaj!

A: thank you!

Adi smirks and leaves

He jumps on the bed as soon as he gets in.

Maithili comes out of the washroom and is annoyed to see his body spread across the bed..

She walks up to him and puts her hands on her hips..

M: you don't plan on sleeping here do you?

A: of course I do! He said casually turning round

Maithili gaped at him..: what!!! I'm a girl!!!

A: really!! I'm sooo sorry for thinking you were something else!! He says sarcastically

M: arrgh!!! It means girls sleep on beds and boys on the sofa!!!

A: no! that's 1990's rule...the 21^st century rule is both sleep on the same bed… he says while winking at maithili

She frowns and narrows her eyes…: idiot!!! I'll see to you!!

A: sure you will!

Maithili picks up her phone… "I'm dialling mayuri mom..and shikhar dad…"

Adi jerks up… "you are sooo not calling dad!!"

M: yes I am!!

Maithili runs away from adi as she sees him advancing towards her.

Adi runs after her and grabs her hand causing the phone to fall to the floor…

M: my phone!!!!!!!

Adi bursts out laughing…: see!! You are destined to sleep on the couch or…he pulls her closer…next to me!

Maithili pushes him away…

M: get lost!!

A: no!

M: this is my room!!

A: OUR room!!

M: I paid for it!!!

A: booking is in my name!!

M: what?? When did you know that!??

A: oh I asked the receptionist! She said the room YOU paid for was booked under MY name!

M: well I still paid for it!!

A: and who saved you from the thugs???

Maithili frowns and lifts her finger to point at him

M: you are not sleeping on that bed…and that's FINAL!!!

A: I AM sleeping on this bed and that's FINAL!!!

Both are staring at each other with fingers pointed at each other and faces close to each other…both stare angrily at each other…

The door burst's open…

"ROOM SERVICE!!"

Adi and maithili, without looking at the waiter shout "GET OUT!!!"

The waiter looks bewildered and gets out

Tannu, Shruti, Bharat and Mayuri are huddled together with the phone in shruti's hands…

Shruti dials a number and the phone replies as not in service

Mayuri tries dialing another number and a heated adi picks up the phone…

"WHAT!!" he yells…

Mayuri is taken aback.. "beta…"

A: oh mom! Adi says cooling down

M: beta what's wrong??

A: aap ki hone wali bahu!! That's what's wrong!!!

M: so you've decided to marry her!!! Mayuri almost jumps up in excitement..

A: woah woah!!! Hold on here!!! I haven't decided anything!!!

M: oh…she says her face down a little…

Well beta, come home tomorrow morning after viewing the cottage… you both are fine right?!?

A: yup! We are VERY comfortable in our room…

M: room???

A: umm..i mean roomS

M: ok! Bye beta..take care!

Adi puts the phone down and face maithili

Bharat and tannu smirk and tell mayuri and shruti of the next stage in their plan…

Adi enters the room and finds maithili watching TV…

A: get up! Were going down!

M: no! I want to stay here! Kahani ghar ghar ki is on!

A: I really can't see why you are sooo intent on watching such rubbish!

M: at least I don't watch F-tv and skimpy models on the catwalk!!

A: I do not!!!

M: oh yes you do!! bharat told me!!!

A: that idiot!!! I'll see to him later….come down if you want dinner!

M; but where's the money to pay for it all??

A: dad's called the hotel…all our expenses will be paid by him…

M: YES!!!!!!!! Now we can get our own rooms!!!

A: no…

M: why?

A: there are no rooms free!

M: dammit!!!! It's all because of you!!!

A: me!!!! No…its because of YOU!!!! I should have given you off to those thugs!! At least this way you wouldn't be troubling me so much!!!

M: you are sooo mean!!!

A: what ever…come quick!

Maithili grunted and got up to change…

A: oh and wear something decent! Not 1990s behenji style!

M: I'll wear whatever I want!!!

A: fine! But don't be seen near me!

M: huh!

A: huh!

Adi is waiting downstairs…

A: god!!! How long does she take!!! just then adi stares ahead, his mouth open…he looks like he had seen the most magnificent object in the world. he'd seen maithili.

She was dressed in a elegant black mini-dress with her hair clipped halfway.

She came and stood by adi… and courtly said… "chalo!"

A: woah woah!! Wait!! You…in a mini dress?!?!?

M: mallishka di gave it to me…I couldn't use it in Mumbai..why not here!

Adi smiled and sat down for dinner…

Dinner was not a peaceful event. Infact lots of 'unwanted' comments were showered on both of them and a lot of petty fights broke out…so much so, that they both wished they had quietly ordered food and not come to the restaurant.

Aw..Now I think that they will go the the hotel room and have candelight dinner! 😉
