In short, finite series are more compelling and soothing than the long running shows. Absolutely right. Hence i am always in favour of season format, it keeps you linked to the show. But i am not in favour of our Indian season format where shows get sequel after 6, 7 or 17 years like Sanjivani 2. Moreover nowadays trp audience is not like before. They are too in favour of finite shows otherwise a show like Yjhjk which got 3.0 trp at first just dropped below 1.9 after a rubbish track introduction. No stability !

I agree with @Ky2 regarding the shows that should go off air. Shubh Aarambh is an extremely old concept drama and it has nothing exciting to showcase, CS is getting annoying day by day, Vidya will end soon and will be replaced by IMMJ2.

But Shakti, OMG that show is a crapfest and cringefest. I laughed so hard when they shown that episode where how heer dont know that she is a Trans, simple ! The day when Heer had biology class, the whole family decided to go for a vacation so that Heer can avoid this class and like this she will never get to know that she is a trans..... Are you kieeeeeeding me 🤣🤣

Like seriously !!! Audience watching that show are probably either likes the couple or they are enough dumb and cant understand that this show is a piece of shit !!! I mean yaar puri school life mein kya ek hi biology class hoti hai jo usse skip kardoge toh usko pata nahi chalegi that she is kinnar !!! What an epic level shit !!!! 🤣🤣

Nowadays romantic dramas are extremely less, no youth dramas, no office dramas, no romcoms. Its so vague as there's nothing intriguing anymore. Every show comes with new concept and later they turn it into a wholesome high voltage melodrama. I mean there's no charm in any of these shows and neither they showcase our modern sides and realistic approaches.

Like when KHKT arrived, i was so happy that i thought finally ITV got a true 2019 show. After watching the promos and the episodes i felt like blessed by almighty as its so good that finally i got a show to watch that is just like how we write about our fav couples in fanfictions. Thankfully the trp was pretty decent for KHKT until sp butchered the 26th sept track. But still i felt that its okay its fine once this shit end they will go for honeymoon they will have quality time and surprisingly the same was about to happen that everything abruptly ended !

I did had a believe in Karma and i am glad that Karma shown its wrath and that Anupuma crap got postponed. I know not for forever but atleast that didnt deserve to replace our KHKT, MJHK a finite sci fi show replaced it and i am really happy for that. But now after lockdown i dont think there will be that old high trps in any show like before until all the 3 channels go for revamp. Except Kundali Bhagya and Reality shows, every show will be suffering because of this. Otherwise you see Yrkkh got 1.7 even after airing fresh episodes for 4 days. What it would have been its trp if the show got chance to air more 2 epis. Probably 2 or 1.9. Loool. This is a signal to all the channels that we had entered a new decade now pls shut the shit shop and let us breathe a little fresh air with our talented actor and actress and some fun and relatable content. Pls stop making tv an "Irritating box".... Go back to 80s era 90s era find shows learn content from them come back start finites and bring a change in ITV !!!!!!!! 😭😔

After this lock down period end, I don't think shows will get same TRP. Definitely TRP will be dropped. And there may be chances that audience will forgot which track is going in their serials. Because channels are rerunning the old episodes once again. To get audience attention again, the channel has to promote Serials in high scale. So, it is better to end the present serials and come up with new serials with good content and fresh concept. Channel has to come up with college back drop serials and pure rom-com serials.

Yaa totally agree. A fresh start will be much more appreciated. Approximately half a month had passed and people are binge watching Doordarshan old tv shows like hell. The most trp for any show after lockdown will be 2.6 or 2.7 but not more than that. So its better channel come up with a big bunch of new shows and starplus and Zee should start it first. They both are so called leading channels and running pathetic taste of shows. College backdrop and Pure romcom shows are very much needed right now. Zee should end shows starting from 7 pm to 10 pm. 10 pm show is new so it deserves to stay. Starplus needs a complete revamp.

The line up need to be better. Anupuma should get a 7 pm time slot, a romantic family drama at 7:30 pm, a college drama at 8:00 pm, a romcom drama at 8:30 pm, then 9:00 pm to 10:30 pm shows for mature audience. Maharaj Ki Jai Ho should be shifted at 7 to 8 pm on weekends. Like this starplus will reach a new height otherwise there ongoing shows are just gonna slay them off ! 😵

Watching Japanese and other dramas i wish our country have all contents in serial

High school

College life

Rom com

Mystery

Thriller

Romantic thriller

Youth show job etc

Kids show

A little erotic content😛

I hope it starts in 2020 soon

Erotic content is what you can expect after 10 years i.e 2030 🤣☺️.

But yaa i really want high school, College backdrop, romcom, rom thrillers on tv.

Mostly romcoms and college ones that too with good cast not some aira gaira 😒😝

You see dear there are 7 damn channels we have out of which only 2 channel (Sony & Sab) runs good shows and others are full of cringefests. This totally sucks 😡

Things are totally gonna change after lockdown for sure.

I don’t think StarPlus will launch any shows with college backdrop. Off late, shows where leads are not married are not doing well in general. Somehow audience begin watching the show after leads get married. Many shows have improved their ratings post marriage of leads. (YRHPK might be an exception)

This is true even for KHKT I guess. Somehow the idea of lovers doesn’t sit well with TV audience.

Most of the population are youth and they love to watch college shows past shows like sadda haq, warrior high were hit. Sony YUDKBH samaina married after more than 300 episodes still it received good response. Star one shows like dmg, pkyek are hit that is talked aboat even today🥳

KHKT might a unique good start serial, but Raima entry made it like any other serial. 😡

And its not aboat leads not married, if content is good whether married or unmarried it will be huge hit, thats why everything needs to revamp into finite series.

@BOLD I so agree with you. People have such misconceptions about trp audience that trp audience only likes after marriage couples. There are a lot of shows which got great success before couples getting married.

90% of shows that are working have married leads. As I said before, I don’t see any popular show other than YRHPK and Kundali Bhagya (as someone pointed out) having leads who haven’t married.

Most for the TRP toppers like Kumkum Bhagya, YRKKH, Kundali Bhagya, Choti Sardarni, Shakti, Barister Babu, Kasauli Zindagi Kay have surged in ratings after the leads got married.

No wonder channels don’t bring many shows with college going leads. Such shows have stopped coming on these channels for long now since they simply stoped working.

There are some shows which do well even if the leads aren’t married but such shows always have the typical TRP content and characters. Like YRHPK has a lot of cliches and this Meenakshi is one irritating TV saas, and I don’t think I have to say what kinda scenes come in KundalinBhagya. 😆

There are always many factors as to why a show might fail. But I can think of many shows like Dil Badtameez Hai, Dahleez, Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyan, Nisha Aur Uske Cousins, Tere Sheher Mein, Manmarziyan and many more shows which aired on StarPlus with kinda different storylines (they later turned into crap but that is a different story). All these shows failed.

That is why the channel has stopped bringing anything different from typical TRP template shows.
