Radhika, I love that you have written such a long and detailed post and all your points are wonderfully valid. You have done a terrific analysis from many angles, and it was a super read. See I just want to add a point extra to what you have written.
No matter how much trust is broken on both sides, one of the great qualities of love is that it helps to heal wounds. So I am the eternal optimist who believes that even if trust is broken, love can help recover the situation.
In fact, if you think about it, where there is no love even trust is superficial,. But especially when two people are in love they become hypersensitive to this issue of trust because they have such high expectations of the other person. See how much Jalal is suffering because of her perceived mistrust ... would he feel this bad if he was not in love with her. And see from her letter how much she feels about his mistrust. Would she feel so strongly if there was no love from her side.
Just put Ruq in the place of Jodha and see if Jalal would have felt so shattered if Ruq was seen mingling with another man. Jalal's ego would have been bruised for sure if his wife was cheating on him, but he would have asked her outright "Why are you doing this?" he would not waited and waited and waited for her to come of her own and tell him all! His expectations of Jodha are so different from his expectations of Ruq just because there is this extra element of love at play that makes him think "If I ask her it will look like I am suspicious, if she tells me of her own it will be a sign that she cares about what I think!".
I believe in the healing power of love. If they are both genuinely in love, all they have to do when they finally find each other is to look into each other's eyes and see that they have both missed each other so much that past suspicions, past perceived betrayals and past grievances have no foothold. It will all dissolve because love is a greater and all-healing force in this world. All it will take is an " I'm sorry," and "I love you" to make everything all right!
You are right about the power of love, Mansi. No doubt they love each other and are feeling this level of devastation only because of this love.
Love and trust are 2 different things. One can love someone without fully trusting that person. See Jalal loves MA and Ruq without fully trusting them. But one cannot trust someone without loving that person.
So far they have fallen in love but are not trusting each other completely. See the new title picture of them? They have to go to the next level - trust each other so much that they cannot do anything but love each other.
I loved the first soliloquy of Jalal in today's episode. He was questioning her like a teenager in the throes of his first heart break. "I am in love for the first time - I can make mistakes." He was questioning her like a friend " You always fought for everyone else, why didn't you fight with me for yourself? Why did you go away silently instead of telling me I was wrong?" He questioned her like a husband "I am a king, not God. I can't read your mind." He was in a daze - he had never imagined that one mistake could turn his life upside down.
Jodha had few scenes today but made her presence felt in the soul talk. She was talking for all wives when she told him that he had lost just his wife but she had lost everything. Jalal's reply was very touching - he couldn't bear anyone even dreaming about her.
Like you say, a lot of love on both sides but both of them being emotionally reticent people, they couldn't quite express their love properly. And when it finally came out, it washed over their lives like a tsunami.
PS:
1. I didn't like HB today. She may love Jodha like her daughter. She may be very sad about the turn of events. But she should have supported Jalal in his hour of need. SB shined today. She was equally sad about Jodha's departure. But she supported Jalal fantastically. She told him in clear terms that only he could heal Jodha's hurt and bring her back with dignity. HB should have been the one to have given such advice to her son and stood by him. Lost opportunities never come back in life.
2. You are also right about Jodha being smart enough to know that she can trust only Moti to convey her msg to Jalal. May be she has guessed by now that someone has been conveying wrong messages from her to Jalal and even seen how MA always stops her from approaching Jalal.
3. Jalal has left Agra for an indefinite period, leaving MA and AK at the helm of affairs along with Atga. Seems like MA is planning to make AK ruler of Delhi before Jalal brings Jodha back. AK seems to be planning on getting the throne while Jalal is away. SD seems to be in a dilemma - whether to stay back and try to get the throne or go in search of Jodha. In any case, this "throne politics" will run parallel to the "bringing Jodha back" track.
