Wonderful post. 😊 But, I'm not completely sure if I believe Jodha's act. She did go way over the edge with the manifestly contrived public apology. And, the look of enlightenment in the scene before that is tell-tale of a plan forming in her mind. And, the way she explains it later to Maham Anga leads me to believe that not all of it had been a genuine expression of her feelings. Whatever be the case, I loved Jodha in yesterday's episode. 😃

I agree u there.. Jodha wasn't 100 % genuine when she seeked for forgiveness... And my eyes literally popped out..when She hugged Maham..lol.it was too much for Maham I guess!!!😆😆😆

Excellent writing as always.
Jodha was good but has long ways to go. I think even though she might have thought she means what she says, there is no way she will be able to follow through if it interferes with her principles. She is too black and white character, and Jalal is dark grey. Her steadfast resolve to stand by him is only in speech.

Ok I was initially puzzled as to why he changed his mind, I think the answer to that is given in the episode itself by Jalal 'izzat'. I think he was genuine in that answer he just paid her back for what she did. I think he knows it would have been hard for her to say all that in front of all when even in private she never disclosed any concern for him when repeatedly asked.

I can't laugh at the irony at all this Jodha actually can't get mad at him, if she does, which I think she will goes back to my earlier point that she is still too simple minded to look at the bigger bigger. Why she can't get mad because she didn't want him to give up the fort, she agreed to support him and most importantly she gave up on Sukanya getting married to Wajinder. Jalal clean bowls her by matching her declarations by giving away the fort, get her sister married, and he has made a decision to win the fort back by force.

I think this will be a test for Jodha from Jalal to see how sincere she really was. When they lock horns they both will make the case of where the other has cheated. But I am team Jalal his case is stronger much more valid. How Jodha reacts to what he did will set a premise for her character going forward. I am inclined to believe it will be all too easy for her to start waving the Mughal flag in victory glee, too early for that she will pout for awhile until something dramatic happens. What that is it is the jungle called agra where there are serpents everywhere reality of this will hit her hard, her position and her husband life will be at stake, when she realizes the singular truth of this then shall raise the queen and wife and lover.

Great post! I loved today's episode! Jodha has learned a valuable lesson today about how to hold herself as a queen. Jalal's intelligence and expressions were amazing. These two were in their element today and I loved it. 😃

Nice analysis.
Lovely episode today with an interesting graph. But finally Jalal had the last laugh and I love this about his character. Like you said the two compartments one being his emotions, family and Jodha is completely secluded, rather water tight like you said, from his other compartment that carries his responsibilities as a Shehenshah. I loved this shrewd siyaasi side to his personality that has nothing to do with his personal life. This side to him gives so many dimensions to his character and makes it come alive for me.

And what spunk Jodha displayed today during her "apology" scene 😆👏!! Loved it for so many reasons especially for the WTH faces of MA and party. But I still can't figure out how and why Jalal bought it. But anyways the izzat thing kinda justified it for me I guess. All in all, Jalal did what needed to be done in order to show Achal Singh & company their real place. And I think Jodha wouldn't mind it either since she was against it in the first place when she had taken Jalal's side in front of Ameris.

Really, really wonderful writ! It is like one of those foodstuffs who give you a feeling of a mouthful even after gulping down a little.
I am sorry ma'am today I can't sit and give one of my long comments as I have a little time to spare today because of my exam. But just to sum up in one line, I can say that after reading the whole thing, only one line comes to me right now , 'Hum Honege Kaamyiyab!' 👏
Please keep me updated!

Aunty, I loved that you referenced the famous "palat, palat, palat" scene from DDLJ! I wouldn't have thought that DDLJ is the kind of movie you would have liked. I am dying to see this episode now (as busy as I am with college).
I am really glad they are sowing a political strategist side to Jalal's character. Whatever the real Jalal was, he must have at least had some kind of brain to be able to build such a great empire. And it would have been really unbelievable had he chup-chaap given the fort away, just for the sake of his Jodha Begum.

Speaking of whom, I really can't figure her out.The hugging of maham, the look of wisdom, all suggest the beginnings of a plan. OTOH, she has defended Jalal twice already (first before her family) and also, we know that second to imagination, she next only lacks a devious mind...so I'm just really confused.

HI Shyamala,
Thansk for the lovely analysis. Opt heading as well. It was very clear for Jodha that BB will not help her and at the same time she can't sit quite anf greave for her sister's fate. She had to do something and that something was sky high that she could not see it clearly. Here Jow vows a lot to Maham for her big bhashan about Mughal wifes and how it affects their husbands. Though Jodha's brain was like a burning oal, it was covered with the ashes of her hatread towards Jalal that she could not think clearly. Maham's words worked as the vlowing wind which uncover the burning coal and now it is burning RED hot with shining. So even before MA completes her dialoogue delivery of degrading Jodha in the eyes of Jalal & Hamida, here comes the queen bee with shame and gulit all over her face. She just comes in and directly starts talking MA, (not to Jalal or Hamida), she praises her for the right advises ggiven to her by MA a while ago about her priorities and duties. She thanks Maham for this by hugging her and calling BADI AMMI, as if like giving her the same love and respect Jalal gves (which was spot on and won Jalal (though he is still skeptical of her behaviour)
Next she went to Shareefuddin and seeked forgiveness with tears that stole the hearts of all those who were present and that was bang on. It was like a sister requesting forgiveness from her brother (to the gathering) and does he have any coice but to say she is forgiven.
Finally she went to Jalal and teary eyes & folded hands begs for his forgivenss for all her follies like dragging BB to testify her husband etc. Then with a detemined tone and face she declares that Agra is her priority and she stands by her husband & his family and henceforth she will go by his words even if it means, that Sukanya's wedding has to be called off and with much sinciarity she tells him not to part with the FORT . The bullet has hit the spot and we see the anticipated reaction for Jodha's action.
Yes, Jalal was skeptical about her grand public display but at the same time he realized that Sukanya's wedding is his responsibility and he has to fulfill that. So even he takes a public gathering to showcase his superiority by announcing that even though I had not prmosiedto give the fort, I am willing to give it so that Sukanya's wedding doesn't stop and hands over the necessary papers there. Now he has hit the hit 2 bords in one stone. First bird i all the Rajvamshis who will praise him that Mughal's doesn't back out of their responsibility and teh Badshah went ahead and handover his favourate / prestigious and important fort just to take care of teh wedding of his SIL though she is a Rajvamshi. The second one is to those who planned this plot, not to predict Jalal's next move as he is always unpredictable and so are his moves.
Both Jodha and Pratap were bang on with their certainity about Jalal's hidden scheme behind this parting with his PORT (as both of them are now convinced that Jalal had not made the promise of thaat fort to Dawalgad king. So they are expecting his next move.
Jalal was right in his plan to win over the fort immediately after the marriage. He was very good with his strategy because, the Rajvamshis are not familier with the fort unlike Mughals, and more over they were too busy with festivity of the marriage and are unprepared for the unannounced war. Added to this, otehr Rajvamshis were averted about thsi king for his greed and might not join their hands with the king so soon. So even before teh sasurji realises about the war, Jalal's army would have won the fort back and Jalal might advise him not to aim for something HIGH and also which is not yours as you will not be able to take care of that.
I don't think Jodha will feel that bad though she will be aghast initially. But she hd anticipated that Jalal would not part with his FORT so easily. And she was aware of the fact that Jalal had not promised the fort and also about the importance of that firt for Mughal Sultanate. Sinc eshe is aware of teh fact that Sukanya;s husband is a nice person and will take good care of his wife, she will not strain her relationship that hard which might have adverse effect on her marital life.
Also teh Cvs will give one more dialogue to Pratap " I knew very well that Jlal had planned somthing like this when he gave the fort only. Had I not expressedmy doubts? though he is an enemy, should appreciate, he is strategist"

Great post aunty...loved yesterday's episode!
I would like to see yesterday's Jodha and Jalal more often...Jodha finally learning the much needed means of survival and using her brains,I loved her act yesterday..though Im not sure Jalal brought it fully, maybe a part of it! I found it hilarious to see her hug Maham😆
Jalal was too good...he is not the Emperor for nothing! I was disappointed to see him give away the fort but what he did next left me with a smile..this is the Jalal I like, with grey shades!
Pratap and Jalal-2 kings who think alike and understand politics...love them both👏

Agreed..it looks like Jalal is sure that Jodha will never try to kill him and that maybe she cares for him in her own way. But he still doesn't trust her much or else he would've definitely pondered over what she said. I had thought that her implicating Shareefuddin would make Jalal think over it and would come close to finding the real culprit (based on the spoilers we got about jalal finding a mid way out). But on the contrary Jalal himself was quite khafa at her for siding the Ameris after MA pointed it out. So yeah both of them have a long way to go both in terms of understanding and trusting each other.
