Jodha was very interesting, and no, I did not think she was being dishonest at all. There is a clear distinction to be made between dishonest and a little devious, and she was the latter with Mahaam - whom she floored with her antics,. and Sharifuddin as well. Why not? It showed that she is beginning to grow up and to learn how to tackle the real world.

Jalal did what any emperor would have done, and it was good for Sukanya - though I agree fully with you that Jalal has, unthinkingly, made her life in Dhawalgarh most uncomfortable - that the Rat King got to know of the recapture in Amer itself, and not en route to Dhawalgarh. He would else have dumped Sukanya on the roadside and left her to her fate, and the Rat Prince would have whimpered about his sanskaars and trotted off after his pitashree. Now at least Jalal had a chance to make it clear to them that he stands four square behind Sukanya, for whatever it is worth.

The result will be that the atmosphere in her sasural will be icy, and there will be constant, indirect taunts. Poor girl, she has done nothing to deserve this, and of course Jodha will be fully justified in getting very upset with Jalal over this. It might have been far better for him to have found another rishta for Sukanya.

But he is a man, and he does not understand what is going to happen to Sukanya in Dhawalgarh. Why, he (and Hamida Banu for that matter) has no idea what is happening to Bakshi Banu right under his nose! In her place, I would have ratted on my abusive husband to my big brother, put the fear of God into him, and then kept him in his place. Instead, she carries on like a headless chicken, She sets my teeth on edge every single time she comes with her weepy face, the tiresome girl!

am happy jodha did not sit and mop and go on muttering how this and that her Shahenshah is cursing her fate etc etc ...instead egged on by three different women she at least decided to take matters in her own hand in her own way...she was amazing ...in the given time and the need of the hour she brought out her ace performance ...and yes even if her antics were for MA and sharifuddin ,what she meant for Jalal was sincere and he reacted coz he could see that...jodha gambled unaware of the end result because she knows how unpredictable her husband it and they are not even in a proper relationship yet she gambled ...and it paid off...

jalal is no fool ...he knows his beghum too well...he knows what she did to save the situation but he also knows that her words had the ring of truth in it and hence in the moment he not only gave in but decided to turn the whole thing into his favour...shrewd Emperor indeed...

taking a stance does not make jodha dishonest for she was not ...it was a desperate situation given this is the second time her sister's marriage is getting called off and irrespective of the era ...no one will remember why it was called off the only thing people will talk about is that it was called off and the girl is somehow responsible...sadly this exists even today ...

was Jalal being dishonest..no he was not ...he was humiliated ,cornered by that pitiful king and it was only the promise he made to jodha that the man still had ahead on his head or no one walks off talking to him like that ...so he wants to teach him a lesson and powerful one that no one messes with the Emperor and he was right in his place...intelligent and devious but not wise...atleast not yet...because in all this the collateral damage is sukanya...he is a ruler and thinks like one ...he cannot think like a woman which jodha does...no amount of threat or warning can makes things better...yes it will hold back the situation but it still would be like waiting for the bomb to explode...sukanya like most of women is not going to utter one word against the aan,baan,shaan of her sasural however they may treat her ..and Jalal cannot keep an eye on her sasural...this is what jodha realises and most of us realise...our only hope is that wajinder indeed has a spine to take a stand for his wife...

so if jodha tomorrow reacts then she will not be wrong...and Jalal has yet to learn that all battles are not won with the drawn sword...you win may such wars without a drop of blood too...his ego and pride took precedence over the sensitivity of the situation ...and we shall wait and see how this unfolds

although that rat king deserved every blow he got from Jalal...what kind of an idiot is he...one he makes a deal without any official document with the Mughals whom he calls cheats ,then he speaks to the Emperor as if he was some roadside ruffian...even if he was wrong he being a king should have known better to handle the situation,instead of screaming like a fisherman ,he could have solved this diplomatically ...such an sorry excuse for a royalty ...

You know, my dear, you are quite right. It sometimes feels like homework! This is the one that I have enjoyed doing the most after the Gordian Knot one.
