Shymala dear, you are disappointed in what Cvs are trying to say through Jodha? But isn't that expected from them, a 21st Century mindset imposed on a 16th century character?. You can hardly expect them to understand the importance of husband in the 16th century and that as a Rajput woman, a husband's death only equates to the darkest of night, and that a wife even if she hates him and is existences to the last bite, will not want her' husband to die. The funnier fact is that as a Princess, Jodha fails to understand the perils of a king, or the fact a king always lives in danger and faces conspiracy of all sorts, especially, when all of Rajputana, were always fighting each other on the silliest of excuses. Well, to me the Cvs need to revisit the history books and appreciate it much more, before they can even dream of putting on a fictional show based on true historical figures and facts...btw, yesterday's episode was a total letdown...can't believe those words could have been spoken by a Rajputana princess...

My dearest Kalapi,

At last some logical outrage. I could not believe what she said yesterday, and I was even more dismayed by the way in which the Shahenshah behaved towards the end of the episode, as he was planning to do a Salman Khan in Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. I could not believe that either.

And look at it today ! It was 180 degrees apart from the day before, with the broadest of corny comedy tracks, and that too with Jalal taking the lead. It was a relief after the unpleasantness of the previous day, but silly and full of unmistakeable double entendres , exactly what one would expect of a Govinda-Karishma Kapoor comedy scene. Hardly the sort of thing an emperor would indulge in.

God, does it have to be one extreme or the other? Can there be no medium. with a modicum of sense and sensibility? There were some such scenes earlier, very good ones, so it is not that the CVs cannot produce them when they want to. They obviously do not want to right now.

It only goes to show that the writers can only oscillate between one extreme and the other, like a yoyo, and cannot think up something charming and intelligent at the same time. Except once in a way, as at the Kali Mandir or at Ajmer Sharif.

Jodha!!!!!! I have always supported her before and tried to emphatize with her. Recently its been hard. She has none of the qualities, I had written about her. You would think after the tiger attack she would have realized that he is her sindoor. For an episode we thought that also until she turned into insensitive, heartless. She went through all that in the jungle to save his life, now she is saying to his face, "dont die in Amer." The writers are horrible writers. What was their logic when they showed her saving Jalal and then she doesnt care whether he lives or dies just not in Amer? Whats with Jalal? They have reduced him to a lover boy now. Atleast other women didn't realize he was there else he might not have been able to live it done. Writers need to keep in mind they are writing a historical drama. When they are writing they should keep a board with the etiquettes of 16th century in front of them so they don't forget.
