Really Abhay thanks a lot again for all those neat , clear and precised information fournished , clearing our doubts as same as sharing your knowledges over the Mughal Empire here with all of us , we also get to learn lots of new things thanks to you and your efforts ! I agree WIKIPEDIA isn't a reliable source as nearly the most of information shared are false , without any historical source to proof , and are erased and recorrected the next day , knowing how many people got to learn all those mistakes before as even if it isn't reliable source , for now it's one of the most REPUTED and VIEWED site 🤔🤔 Ahem ! Abhay , being a big fan of the classical indian movie Mughal e Azam 😆😆 I have some questions :
Is this true that Salim rebelled against his own father and kingdom being out of love for the mesmerizingly beautiful courtesan Anarkali ?

As portrayed in the movie , is it true that during the father-son rebellion war , Akbar asked MUZ to make a choice between him and their son 😲😲 ? Did this issue cause a trouble between hubby wife relationship ?

Some late and spreading rumours over Salim and Anarkali's lovestory are claiming that Salim helped Anarkali to escape from the tunnel when she was about to be buried alive and married her secretly in Lahore without the knowledge of his father , or another one which was quite a popular version is saying that Akbar graced Anarkali by helping her to escape with her mother only at the condition of her never returning to the Mughal Empire and the last most popular version , she was immured alive in a wall ! Among all these rumours what seems nearly quite possible to you :D ?
Anarkali isn't mentionned in Akbarnama nor in Tuzuk e Jahangiri , it was first mentionned by a tourist and an english trader William Finch in his journal , who visited India on August 24 , 1608 , I know that due to lack of evidences and sources , it 's widely accepted as false or rembellished then from where and how this story over her was born , how it came to be mentionned by two foreigners in their journals ?
Anarkali was told to be Akbar's concubine with whom she was mother of a 'Prince Daniyal' 😕 , if it's true then later what happened to him ?
After the entire phase of rebellion , opposition , constant war , how was Salim pardonned , who pardonned him ? Salima ? MUZ . . . ? After that , views and opinion of commoner people of the Kingdom over him , did they still think of him as a capable future Emperor or no ?
When did he marry with the stunning Nur Jahan ?
Is it true that he ordered his elder son Khusrau to be blinded after his rebellion at the beginning of his father's reign ?

Will be waiting ! Once again thanks Abhay 😊😊

Hi Abhay and other history fans...
I thought you guys would like to look at this rare and beautiful Akbarnama that was sold by Bonhams. 😊

The nice part is that the folios with descriptions (in persian) are posted on this website:

http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/21720/lot/20/

The manuscript has even a folio that shows Hamida Banu and baby Akbar when he was born.😳

P.S. @ Abhay: Maybe you might find some info that you could translate and let us readers know...😉

P.P.S Please post any information about Shenaz ...is she Akbar's long lost sister?😃

It's nice that u hv accepted gleefully, all our outsourcing of jA research to you.👏 one more fr u. If Salim was the first survived child, how it came abt, I mean was he born after the exit of maham Anga?In the movie they hv shown her exit immediately after Sujamal's death. What is the chronology in the history? In the serial this thing will take one or two years to happen😆 U said he was born in the palace near Saint Salim chisti, not as it was costomary in Amer, may be this was a precausionary measure taken? Over to u😃

myviewprem had made a post.. it was a paper by some prof at an American University which said that Hamida only tolerated her and did not like her because she was a hindu,..
I sorta feel that she may or may not have liked her but it couldn't be due to her issues with religion. It was hindus who had sheltered her.. she was Akbar the Great's mother after all.. who was so open minded, tolerant and secular even for today's time.. these qualities have to come form somewhere, right? A mother is the biggest influence on her child...

Thanks. 🤗

I am transferring your question on this thread as this relates to MUZ. So, here is my comment.

1.
Hamida Banu Begum was/can NOT be against MUZ, as she was from a Sufi BackGround, hence secular. Abu'l Fazl has credited her to be an inheriter of the visionary blood of her great grand father, who was a great seer. Infact, Akbar got this Divine Vision from Hamida Bano Begum.

2.
She was known for her "Secular Nature" and so - the point that she can be against Jodha on the basis of religion can NOT be true. This is a simple fact.

3.
She, was given aid by the Hindu Rajput ruler, Veersal / Beersal, in Umerkot and Akbar was born there. She stayed with them. Even, prayers were done for Akbar in the temple of that ruler.

4.
It would NOT have been possible for MUZ to get so much power / hold / respect in Mughal Court / Akbar's Life, had Hamida Banu been against her . 😊

5.
And as mentioned on previous page by a member , about a 'HIGHLY reliable author' , William Dalrymple. This man is the founder member of the Jaipur Literature Festival. And, 2 years back was also the speaker at the Karachi Literature Festival. Sorry, for going off-topic, but i have read some excerpts from this author's works, and it's truly commendable. So, mentioned him. 👏

If Hamida Bano, has asked for HER copy of Ramayana(A Hindu Religious Scripture) even while breathing her last. What this shows.?. 😊

6.
After 6 days of the birth of Shah Jahan, he was given the name "Khurram" meaning the 'joyous' one. This "Naamkaran Sanskar" or the "Naming Ceremony", was done after the Hindu Rajput ritual called "Chatthi". And, Hamida Bano was VERY much a part of this event.

7.
More can be seen on this Link. This LINK speaks a LOT about the Divine visions:
https://www.indiaforums.com/forum/post/101640341

8.
I am quoting these religious points, "ONLY" to show Hamida Bano's secular nature, so as to dispel your doubts, as you questioned if she was against MUZ due to her being a Hindu. 😊

9.
BEWARE of the sources(if any) which say Hamida Bano as being indifferent to MUZ or against Hindus. 😳 She was a chaste, innocent and highly secular lady. And, we have MANY incidents for the same.

10.
There are EVEN instances where she supported MUZ, one being after the Chittor massacre. (Will post on this later.)

Conclusion:

If Hamida Bano Begum was NOT having any such issue, why would Jiji Anga have any issues. Jiji Anga was very close to Akbar's heart. After Jiji Anga's death Akbar shaved his head. And, he shaved his head the other time after death of his own mother Hamida Bano.

BTW, Man Singh and Jiji Anga's son Mirza Aziz Koka, were ALSO on good terms. 😉

Thanks. 🤗

Hi,
Post regarding Akbar's kids is under preparation. Akbar had other sisters as well apart from BB, but majority of them passed away early. But, BB was not the daughter of Hamida Bano Begum, but of Bibi Guwar.
