wow- it was amazing. I really liked how jodha apologized and wept for him and jalal reflected on her tears and other too.

~Part one~

Jalal was sitting lost in thoughts when Jodha entered with a bowl of kheer.
He smirked but then closed his eyes making a nonchalant face.

'Jee.. hum kheer laaye hai..'

No response.

'Hume lagaa kheer lene se aap achhe mehusus karne lagoge..'

Again no response.

'Aap so gaye hai Kya? Shehensha?'

She raised her hand to touch his forehead. She dint know why she felt the need to comfort him or bring kheer for him. Well out of humanity, she assured herself. She let her fingers entwined in his hair, caressing it. He looked so calm, so peaceful and beautiful (handsome) that is.

Hum sirf aap ko dekhne aaye hai, aap kithne sundar hai.. Her little sister's words rang in her head.

'Haan sundar dikhte hai, aise sothe hue- kyu ki taana nahi maar sakthe na!'

'Kya keh rahi hai Aap Jodha begum?'

Oops! So he was still awake. Or did he just get up now?

'Umm.. woh hum..'

'Kahiye Jodha begum. Aap ko humari sundarta ka tareef karthe hue sunn ke accha lagtha hai-'

He smiled at her looking square in her eyes. She was lost. There was no use of pretending now.

'Sunliya tho puchte kyu hai..'

'Ek baar fir se kahiye na Jodha begum, woh kya hai na aise lafz shayad aap Agra mein nahi kahengi.. Kyu ki aap ke nazariye mein hum ek khudgarz insaan hai jisne aap k zindgi ko jahannum banaadiya. Hai na?'

Jodha didn't know how to react. One side he was approving what she said and on the other he was discussing Agra. What did he want? To praise him there as well?

'Kaise kehte? Joh insaan har baat pe taane maarta ho ussey keval vivaad hi ki jaa sakti hai. Aap ka kheer-'

She placed the bowl by his bed side and got up to sit on the couch.

'Arey begum gussa kyu ho rahi hai aap? Amer mein hi sahi, taareef tho ki hai aapne- badle mein humne bhi taareef na ki tho log yaha bhi hume khudgarz samjhenge! '

She glared at him but then her glare turns into a smile as she looked at him closely.

'Hum yeh kehna chahte hai ki aap aaj behad khubsurat lag rahi hai..'

She smiled but expected another taana, but all came her way was another smile.

She couldn't help but smile back at his cute expression but then she was Jodha and he was the one who played with her life.

'Tareef k badle mein taareef kar diya. Ab dand bhi dijiye na.. humari wajay se jo aap ko chot aayi hai-'

'Beshak Jodha begum. Dand denge hum aapko. Dena bhi chahte hai. Lekin kaise? Kaise Jodha begum, agar humne aap ko dand diya tho kya aap humare liye kabhi kheer le aathi? Kya aap humari marham karthi? nahi na..'

Jalal was laughing.

'Fir se taana? Aap ka kheer, hum dobara yaad nahi dilaayenge..'

He nodded and proceeded to hold the bowl with his left hand. He tried in vain to grab the spoon but he couldn't twitch his arm. He laughed as his attempts failed again and again.

She had been watching him closely out of the corener of her eye.

'Dard mein bhi muskuraane lage hai aap?'

'Kya karein Jodha begum? Kabhi kabhi dard bhi badi haseen hota hai. '

He thought for a moment may be Ruquaiyya would have accepted his order to feed him but Jodha? Well he could order and she'd obey for sure. Before he could speak Jodha got up and plopped down beside him on the bed.

'Yeh kaise hogaya Jodha begum? Aap hume khilaayengi? Hum kisi khusurat sapna tho nahi dekh rahe hai?'

She smiled a little as she picked up a spoonful. She lifted it up to his mouth and he ate gleefully. It felt nice that she cared. Well she definitely cared for him now, he was sure.

'Kisi zaroorat-mand insaan ki madad karna tho hume karna hi hai na?'

'Hum aap k iss madad k liye shukr-ghusar hai begum, shukriya.'

She fed him another spoon. He kept talking.

'Kheer achhi bani hai..'

Another spoonful.

'Aapne khaaya?'

'Hmm..'

Another spoonful, with each spoon she was feeding him; he was becoming to feel better and better. What did she do to him that he was talking nonstop? He was supposed to be mad at her for being responsible for his injury again. He would have been safe and sound, had it not been her challenge. But she apologized and brought kheer, did his bandage, his mind argued.
A spoonful was left when she found him thinking.

'Kya hua shehensha?'

'Kuch nahi Jodha begum. Hum bas soch rahe the, ki hum kal tak hum ek jaanbaaz sainik the; magar aaj se- kaise hum apne shamsheer tak nahi utha-payenge! Hum ab khud khaana bhi nahi khaa sake-'

His words were laced with pain. She knew he took pride in things, but for the first time she felt bad. Well may be because she was beginning to see human side of him sometimes.

'Hume aap ki madad karne mein koi takleef nahi hai shehensha. Hum-'

She stopped suddenly remembering she was the one who put him in this situation. That stupid challenge. But she did it for Hawai, to save his life.

'Humne kaha ki hume koi gurez nahi. Aapne humari madad ki hum uski kadar karthey hai..'

He looked at her and saw she was in tears again. He couldn't resist the urge to brush them off. And this time he did.

'Yeh kya Jodha begum, hume lagaa aap logon ko rulaathi hai aur aaj aap khud rorahi hai? Kya hum uss gusthak ki jaan lele jiski waja se aap ro rahi hai?'

He joked and she smiled when he brushed of her tears. His touch was delicate, feather light and his words were genuine and soft just as the way they were when he talked to Rahim.

'hum.. woh.. aap ki halaat dekh kar hume- '

'Ohh tho aap ka matlub hai, woh gunegaar hum hai. Bohot khoob Jodha begum, humari jaan lene ka accha tarkeeb socha hai aapne..'

She looked at him with wide eyes and saw him smiling. So this was a joke again? He was being mischievous and she liked this change.

'Nahi hum..'

She became serious again.

'Hum yaha khud ko doshi dekar udaas hai aur aap fir se taana mar rahe hai?'

'Nahi nahi Jodha begum. Humari ithni himmat? Hum tho sirf ghusarish karsakte hi ki aap na roye. Aap khud ko bohot jaldi doshi maan leti hai tho kya yeh humari galati hai?'

She smiled at his antics. She had expected he would be cold after the incident with Hawai but he wasn't. He too expected her to be revelling in joy- well not that she was that kind of person but still he did not expect to cry for him anyway.

'Hume aapki ghusaarish sweekar hai shehensha..'

He smiled nodding his head, approving her half happy, half sad face.

'Accha hua aap ko sweekar hai Jodha begum, warna hum aap ko hukm dete ki aap na roye..'

She shook her head and fed him the last spoonful of kheer.

'Oh, hume laga aap ko khushi hogi hume sataane mein par aap tho bade acche nikle..'

'Jis k paas acchi begum ho woh tho accha hi hoga na..'

She got up in all smiles and left the room not wanting to meet his eye. Is it her imagination or he was really cheering her up despite being in pain himself. And he called her beautiful and they had longest conversation of their life so far. And well she could only hope she would see this nicer side of him in Agra too!
Meanwhile Jalal was smiling to herself. He usually enjoyed to piss her off, even enjoyed to see her in tears (in the beginning). He generally hated women who weep, but this time, he loved them- her tears.. because those tears were for him!
~
Somewhere in the same Palace

'Woh dobara ghayal hua hai. Uss Jodha begum ki waja se.. bohot nuksaan hua uske daaye haat ka, ithna ki woh shamsheer bhi nahi uthaapayega- woh bhi ek mahina tak. Ussey rokne ka waqt aagaya hai..'

Shareefuddin suggested Adham.

'Sach kaha hai tumne.. hum ussey khatm karenge aur ilzaam lagega uss Jodha par..'

~ MA's room

'Aap kya karne wali hai.. hume darr hai kahi Amer mein rehte rehte mohabbat na jag jaye dono k beech..'

Maham Anga glared at her beloved assistant.

'Humare rehtey tho aisa nahi ho sakta. Hum Jalal se baat karenge ki Jodha ko uski galatiyon ki saza deejaye..'

'Aur woh maanengey?'

'Agra mein tho maan hi lega..'
