A/N: Ok guys! I dunno how many of u are interested in my boring SS.. but I had a terrible day and all my FFs are done (koi kaam nahi hai mujhe), so I am back to torment u wid this😆 hope some of u will like😃

Jalal was taking a brisk morning walk through the hallways of the palace when he heard Jodha talking to an elderly woman.

"Jodha bitiya, hume bohot prasannata hui ki aap ko hum yaad hai.. aur aaj aap k behen k vivaah mahotsav mein hume aamantrit kiya. Humare liye samay nikaala. Humara maan rakha. Hume bohot khushi hui.."

Jodha smiled at the woman and Jalal decided he'd take a closer look at them.

"Yaad kaise nahi rakhte? Aap humari shikshika hai. Waise bhi- Woh jeevan hi kya jismein apno ka prem na ho. Insaan apna saara jeevan kisi lakshya k peeche lagaa deta hai, kabhi kabhi kaamyaab bhi hojaata hai. Parantu uthna kamaakar kya faaida, jab woh kisi ek insaan ko na haasil karpaya jisse woh apna kehsake, jo usse bina matlab k prem karein. Aur samay.. samay tho humare paas humesha hai. Hum koi shehensha nahi jo sultanate ko sambhalte-sambhalte kabhi kabhi apno ko bhi bhulaadete hai, unke paas samay hi kaha hai.."

He knew these words were directed at him as he found her staring back at him. He suddenly remembered something and walked off with out giving a retort leaving a confused Jodha behind.

Jalal went to greet his mother. It wasn't like he never took time for his loved ones, but like Jodha said he didn't had time for some people who loved him truly and others who loved him had their reasons. Sometimes he wondered, would there be any person in the world who could give so much love with out expecting anything in return? His Ammi Jaan believed in such things but he did not. There was a possibility though- Ammi Jaan, Badi ammi and Bhairam were examples.

Hamida's chamber

His mother was pleasantly surprised because this was his first visit to her room in Amer.

"Hume bohot khushi hai Jalal ki aap sahi salaamat hai..."

"Kaise nahi rehte Ammi Jaan, khuda ka noor aur aap k duwayein jo hai humare saat.."

"Sirf humare hi nahi Jalal, Jodha begum ki bhi duwayein aap k saat hai."

"Ammi Jaan.."

"Hum jaante hai aap kya kahenge. Hum yeh bhi jaante hai kis haalat mein aap dono ka nikah hua. Lekin kya rishta aise hi rahega Jalal. Kab tak aise bartaav karoge uske saat.."

"Ammi Jaan woh hum se nafrat karthi hai tho hum kya karein? Hum ne... humne unhe zalil karna chod diya hai. Hum sirf.."

Jalal looked away unable to continue. He knew he didn't hate her anymore. Sure she'd sometimes pull his leg or point out at his flaws but he became used to it. It did not make his blood boil, surprisingly.

"Kya aap ab bhi unse nafrat karte hai Jalal?"

"..."

"Hum ne aap se kuch pucha hai.."

"Nahi Ammi Jaan. Aaj kal woh hume... Hume malum nahi. Hum sirf yeh kehsakte hai ki ab hum unse uthna nafrat toh nahi karte. Par woh, woh humse nafrat karti hai; fir bhi- humara dhyan rakhti hai, fir hum se ladti hai, taana maarti hai; aur fir lep lagaati hai. Humareliye rothi bhi hai.. Humareliye kheer lekar aathi hai.. Hum unhe samajh nahi paarahe hai.. Agar hum pooche tho kehti hai, woh hume pasand nahi karthi hai. Hum bhi unse nafrat karna chahte hai, lekin nahi kar paarahe. "

Hameeda noticed he was confused. Well things do seem confused when one's in love. She decided that Jalal needed sometime and diverted the topic.

"Hmm.. thik hai. Aap k uljhan ko hum door nahi kar sakte. Magar ithna keh sakte hai ki Jodha begum ne woh kheer apne haaton se banaaya tha. Hume bhi kuch chakh ne ko diya hai unhone-"

"Kya.."

A small smile made its way on to his lips and HAmeeda knew he was pleasantly surprised.

"Aur uthna hi nahi. Maha Rana Pratap se woh jadi-booti bhi Jodha ne hi liya tha Hawai ko kabuu mein laane k liye.."

Jalal remembered his encounter with the elephant. Jodha was the one who fetched MahaRana Pratap. Jalal was nearly crushed by his own best friend Hawai.

* Flash Back*

Jalal tried his best to stop Hawai. But the elephant grabbed him with its trunk and lifted him up. He was hanging in air with his right arm being squeazed by the gaint animal when Maha Rana Pratap came to his aid.

'Yeh jadi-booti ussko sulaadegi. Uss haati ko issey sunghaao!' Prataap shouted as he threw the herb which almost looked like ginger.

'Hawai.. Hume mauf kar dijiye.. Hum.. majboor hai..' Jalal cried in pain as he struggled to pull out his dagger.

Eyes closed he gently poked the elephant. Irritated by this Hawai placed him roughly on the ground and lifted his limb to crush him when Jalal instantly held up the jadi-booti near its trunk. As Hawai breathed the powerful Jadi-booti showed instant effect and Jalal was saved. And then Jodha rushed to him inquiring about his well being..

Her concerned eyes, worried posture, her caring touch.. He couldnt shake it off from his head,

*end of Flash back*

He was brought back to his senses by his Ammi Jaan who was now smiling at him.

"Kaha kho gaye Jalal?"

"Kahi nahi Ammi Jaan.. Kahi nahi.."

He was trying to hide his smile. This change in Jalal was very good. Really good, she thought.

"Hum hum chalthe hai.." Jalal got up but Ammi Jaan remembered him something.

"hum chahte hai Jalal ki aap bhi sab kuch bhulaakar Jodha begum ka saat de. Jab Jodha ko zarurat pade, hum chahte hai ki aap unke saat rahein.. Aap mohobbat tho nahi karsakte Jodha se, saat tho de sakte hai na?"

Jalal was taken aback for a moment but then he nodded. Why not? He could definitely stand by her side. After all she saved him twice now.

"Ji bilkul ammi jaan.."

He left the place with a smile. On his way to his room, he found one of his saalis and he her to pass his mesage to jodha.

"Hum unse milna chahte hai humare kaksh mein, aisa kahiye ga"

AkDha's room..

"Aapne hume bulaaya?"

"Haam haan Jodha begum.. Lagtha hai aap hume bhul gayi hai. Subah se aap humare dhyan rakhne nahi aayi."

It was more like a statement. But well she had promised Ammi Jaan that she'd take care of him.

"Woh hum shaadi k tayyariyon mein vyasth the.."

"Hmm.. ithne 'vyasth' ki aapne apne shohar ka khayal rakhna bhul gayi.."

She couldnt believe this! His words were almost as if teasing her.

"Aap k liye hi tho aaye hai hum. Deri se hi sahi lekin aagaye na. Ab kahiye kya karna hai hume?

"Jodha begum.. hum se jaama pehna nahi jaaraha. Zara madad kar dijiye."

He began taking off his shawl which he generally wore after bathing and she stood flustered unable to find right words.

She saw that he had his pyjama (sorry guys dont know right word) on.

"Umm.. woh... hum.. kaise?"

"Aap bhul gayi hai Jodha begum aap k waja se hum ghayal hue hai. Aur aap ne humari madad karne ki kasam khaayi thi sab k saamne?"

There was no point of argueing and so she picked up his jaama and helped him with it. Tying its loose ends she cursed herself for the position she landed in.

"Insaaniyat k naathe se hum inki madad karne k liye kyu tayyar hogaye? Inko vastra bhi pehnaana pad raha hai.."

"Kuch kaha aap ne Jodha begum?"

She ignored his question. She knew he heard what she said.

"Nahi.. kuch nahi.."

She began to walk of when he held her hand with his left arm.

"Kya hai?"

"Hum aise kaise bahar jaa sakte hai Jodha begum? Aap aise apne kaam adhura nahi chod sakti.."

He pointed towards his jewels, rings, turbine and his shamsheer.

"Aap ke dusre haat ko kya hua? Woh tho thik-thak hai na? Aap ko humare madad ki kya zarurat hai?"

"hmm.. thik hai. Agar aisa hai tho hum kisi daasi se yeh kaam karwaayenge."

He started to move but she stopped him.

"Koi zarurat nahi hai.. hum hi karlete hai.."

He gave his victory smile as she made him sit on his bed. She placed his jewels around his neck one by one and ruffled his hair a bit before placing the turbine.

"Kisi daasi se karwaadete hai? Kya samajhte hai apne aap ko yeh? Aise kisi dusri sthree ko-"

She dropped the sentence not wanting him to take it as her jealousy. A small smile replaced her angry look as she saw him smiling at her. He certainly looked handsome. Her smile dropped as she realized what she had been thinking.

"Kal se kisi daasi se nahi, kisi apne sipaai ya pehredaar se karaayiye yeh kaam... Kyu ki kal se hum tho- hume kaam hai.."

"Arey begum.. abhi lep lagaana baaki hai.."

He laughed. Oh so she was definitely jealous!

"Khud hi lagaa lijiye naa..."

She rushed from the spot feeling nervous as she blurted out her secret.

"Nahi hum yeh kisi ko nahi bataa sakte.. yeh kaam hume akela karna hoga.."

Jodha met Prataap in his chamber.

"Aap humari apne hai Jodha. Hum aap se woh kaam nahi karwaana chahte.. Aap ki jaan ko khatre mein nahi daal sakte hum. Upkaar k badle mein hm aapse yeh sab-"

"Par humne vachan diya hai," Jodha argued, "aur hum ussey nibhaayenge."

"Humne kuch nahi kiya. Humari shart kisi aur k liye tha.. humare apne k liye nahi. Aap apni behen ki shaadi mein jut jayiye. BAki kuch bhul jayiye.."

Jodha left his chamber reluctantly agreeing with him but she was determined to fulfil her word. She heard a clank and footsteps of someone following her but she couldn't find anyone.
