It's nice to read your review. Even though, I may disagree with some things and agree with others, it's interesting to read another perspective with a little/no bias. I would also love it if you could/get time to write more reviews during this season.
I'm just copying and pasting my review on today's episode from Epi discussion thread.

"Today's episode was much better than yesterday's.

Shamita's act was my favorite.

Both Kavitha and Deepika did good job. However, I felt their scores were overrated. I don't understand why Lauren who watches many performances critically found Deepika's performance perfect to give her 10. I think Shahid was very apt on that department. Having a minor training in classical Indian dance, I can say that classical portion that they both did (Kavita had one or two steps) were not perfect and to some degree disappointing. I don't know if I am explaining it right, but both of them having "lazy" hands during classical steps really stood out and irked me. Postures are just as important in classical dance forms as they are in western dance forms.

Sanaya is my favorite celeb and I agree with all the comments from judges and felt that she was judged perfectly. Didn't like what Shahid said about him just giving her 9 for the last time. 34 is an apt score for that performance. I think Karan should have given 9 and Shahid 8 if shahid felt that she didn't "earn" that 9 this time. And Karan had really nice things to say so it would have made sense. Her performance was lovely and a visual treat. Loved Sanaya's grace and fluidity from one step to another, but like Shahid said, choreography can be more rigid (of course Jai may have chosen this due to her injury, but hope it's above par next time). I missed that one magical moment in this dance that is always there in Sanaya's romantic numbers.

I do wonder why Lauren judges Sanaya so critically whereas hands out points to Radhika and Deepika. Both of them didn't deserve 10 in their respective performances. I don't have problems with her judging Sanaya critically because it will only help her to improve and do better next time, but wish she would judge everyone with the same measuring stick.

Vivian: though his "dance" was the weakest of all, he does make me laugh the way he dances and his expressions reminded me of "rutha huva" child. Lol, he was cute in this performance. Appreciate his efforts and sportsmanship to just go with the flow. Maybe he deserved 31 instead of 32.

Raftaar was pretty good too, and I believe he was judged fairly today.

Overall for this week, I felt Mohit was underscored by 2-3 points. He was really good outside of those gym bars section. Even Radhika was underscored when you compare it to Vivan's performance. Or maybe Vivan was just overscored.

I guess judges are judging them based on their own capabilities, but at the end of the day, it's a competition and scores do matter, so wish they all use the same measure for all contestants.

Today's comedy was either bearable or I may have skipped the unnecessary drama.

Curious to know who will be out next week. Hope everyone improves and gives us amazing performances--especially Sanaya!! Instead of 9, I want her to earn 10 from shahid next week.

p.s What happened to the spotlight portion in today's episode?""

Hey...thanks for Coming up with Review 2 post , Awesome Review.
Scarlet and Shamita were Best.

Scarlett : I absolutely love her Expressions. She enjoys soo lot while dancing and her enjoyment vibes are soo strong that I can literally feel those. I am actually surprised with Dhiraj , I did'nt expected him to do so well , such amazing choreography he is coming up with .Kudos to him and his Team.

Shamita : I loved smoothness. so relaxed , so calm she is .Her face while judges are giving comments its like SHe is keenly listening to those and want to work asap. Brilliant Choreography by Deepak and equally well executed by Both.

Kavita : hahah...she is soo Entertaining and so fatang...Rajit really needs to work on her Strengths and more importantly his own Choreography , I don't want to see her Go early.

Raftaar : Awesome style he is ,Totally cool . and Sneha thou she looks chota packet , power packed she is . She knows how to bring best . Lauren was so spot on with her Comments on Raftaar.

Faisal : Aahhh...I'll slightly disagree with you . I felt he lacked compared to his 1st week Performance . I did'nt enjoyed the choreography that much , felt it was all over he place ..very rushed. Vaishnavi is clearly lacking in front of Faisal.

The whole "adi ke kasam" seg of Mohit was funny .
Lauren really needs to cut down speaking in Hindi thing ,. sometimes its ok ...bt It really gets Irritating .

I see a seriousness, a sincerity this time in Jhalak atleast where DANCE is concerned .

I'll repeat again what I mentioned abt Shahid last time . I love the warmth he exudes while giving comments to Contestants.

Nice post
Sanaya- she was graceful..The choreography might not be too difficult but overall the dance was graceful and pleasant.. So I liked her performance

Shamita -she was actually the best.. Her choreography was tough and she perfectly did justice to it

Kavita - I like her and in police clothes and tht type of dance was more of her comfort zone and I loved it

Dipika - she was better thn last time but yes there were many mistakes

Faisal, scarlet r 2 dancers I enjoy a lot but expect more from them

Vivian- he was better thn his last performance and this time he earned his 32 marks. The robotics is not as easy as it seems, plus the steps were tough.. He might have forgot but I applause tht he didn't paused and did well.. He is cute and quite an entertainer.

Radhika is trained dancer so she was not as good as I expected from her.. Mohit is indeed a rising star but iss performance he and his choreographer didnt
seemed into each other and like apna apna kar rhe hai and I think he can do far better

Ps- I agree this season contestants have more potential and all r hard working and sincere and thus improvement is also better thn last 7 seasons

Finally a thread that discuss actually dancing on the forum.
First of all I fell the scoring was better this week and all contestants got what they deserved, last week scores were giving away to contestants like Laddoos...Lauren needs more improvement on her judging skill the only contestants so far she have given good advice to is "Sanaya" she needs to be equally with the rest too as they all have flaws that they need to work on.

Sanaya shown growth and improvement this week. She was good and dance gracefully, I can't be harsh on her due to the fact she's injured I saw her holding her ribs after her performance today.

Shamita and Faisal were the best of the week, I am really liking Faisal a lot this season. I hope he goes far and also Scarlett was amazing.

Vivian performance was great fun I was laughing the whole time lol... Can't call him bad since he provided good entertainment in this act.

Deepika was good and huge improvement from last week.
[/QUOTE agree with bold first some thread which discusses dancing 😆 ! do agree what u said about scores being distributed like ladoos as judges became halwaais.

Thanks for one sane thread. I am actually enjoying this season and performances a lot more than I expected. All the contestants have likeable personalities and there is no obvious bias so far.

Shamita: My absolute fav performance so far. It had everything; energy, moves, lifts...And Shamita and her choreo did it with so much ease and fluidity. Shamita has a very good stage presence and commands attention. She was one contestant whose attitude I was most apprehensive about because of her Bollywood background and the fact that she is Shilpas sister. But she seems really sincere about the show and is genuinely interested in what judges say.

Radhika : IMO she was much better this week than last one. Her performance may not have been consistent and extraordinary on the whole, but she did really well in some parts. All she and her choreo need to do is to join those parts and put up a comprehensive performance. She has a lot of potential.

Deeipka: I was not impressed at all last week. But this week she gave a pleasant surprise. I liked the dance and esp the choreography. Some moves were quite innovative. Technicalities may not have been perfect, but she carried the performance quite decently. Maybe I am a little biased too coz they were the only team to try something Indian. I wish more contestants would try Indian dance form in coming weeks, it brings variety to the show.

Scarlett: I had not seen her performance last week, so this is the first time I am seeing her perform. She was good and flexible, but I was not exactly bowled over. Maybe there was something lacking in the choreography. Idk, I found the moves and dance a bit restrictive. I can see that she is a good dancer but there was no Wow factor for me in the dance.

Sanaya : Definite improvement from last week. She looked delicate, graceful , ethereal. Even the dance was very dreamy and romantic. But the steps were quite simple. There was nothing extraordinary. Any other season and it would have been a very good second week performance, but this season has an extra zing, so her dance was not that remarkable when compared to others. Good thing is she was much more fluid this time. So her choreo needs to push her a little more and come up with something really different.

Kavita : She is totally bindass and uninhibited on stage. Thats a huge plus. Her dance was lot of fun and she is very expressive and entertaining. Also since she was in her very famous on screen character, she was totally in her elements and very comfortable. kavita has a very strong personality, so it would be interesting to see how she moulds herself to different dance forms, esp softer ones.

Subreet : She was much, much better than last week and even her scoring was more apt this time. So no complaints.

Faisal : I loved, loved his performance last week, this week not so much. Of course Both him and Vaishanvi danced very well, did some fantastic lifts, but there was nothing innovative IMO. Maybe I am being a bit harsh coz he himself set standards vry high last week. I know he is one of the most talented dancers, so I expect more from him in coming weeks.

Ashish: Dident see his performance and anyways it was incomplete so no point judging. Just hope his choreographer gets well soon and he doesnt have to be eliminated on the basis of an incomplete act.

Mohit : Mohit was average. He is certainly one of the weaker contestants, so will have to work hard. He does seem to have potential. Let's see.

Vivian: Same as Mohit. He was clearly disappointed at forgetting steps, but since these are initial weeks, wont be harsh on him. But he will have to work hard. He has the fan following, just needs to take care of dance.

Raftaar: Raftaar is very good. His both performances have been fast, energetic and with a lot of moves. He is flexible with smooth transitions. Definitely the best male contestant after Faisal.

Coming to show over all, I think they need to cut the gay jokes, weight jokes, bum jokes and other such lame jokes like now. Forced flirtation between Anchors-Judges/ Judges-Contestants/ Judges-Judges is maha irritating, old and boring. Please change it. And Manish -Karan overdose is beyond irritating now. Shahid needs to stop juggling between Judging and hosting. He is good, but too much Comedy taked away the seriousness of Judges chair. Though I like how he is extra encouraging when contestants have fumbled or are feeling disappointed at themselves.

Most of the choreographers are new, and I am OK with it , but I hope that in coming weeks they do come up with something innovative and outstanding, and push the level of competition further. Most of the contestant are good /have potential this season so choreos need to push them a littler harder and come up with something clutter-breaking.

Hi 😊
I'm yet to watch all the acts comprehensively but I mostly echo your thoughts.
Shamita has great stage presence and she got just the right choreo who'll be able to hone her skills further.
Faisal was great, I loved the choreography and he did complete justice to it. I still feel that Vaishnavi is not at par with him but this time the synchronisation was much better.

Irani is a very graceful lady...her poise showed in her act. Some aspects were really beautiful but I feel that although she is very expressive otherwise, her dance somehow seems very mechanical and jarred. It was definitely an improvement from last week but she needs work, A LOT.

Same for Vivian...when ur not as strong a dancer, then it is imperative that u get the basics right. Forgetting steps is just not done when you are competing with 11 other ppl. He needs to put in a lot more effort. The isolations were good and he did try, so thumbs up for that.

Scarlet did well but I too feel that she was better last week, this one lacked a certain spunk imo.

Mohit himself improved leaps and bounds and his hardwork definitely showed but overall the act lacked a certain "wow" factor as Remo calls it.
I haven't watched Raftaar, Ashish and Subhreet yet...so can't tak about it.

Dipika lacks a certain power or energy. She sometimes lets go in the middle of her dance which makes it look clumsy. She's got a great choreo in Vaibhav and if she works hard, she won't be the next Patyusha. 😆 Her mudras weren't perfect but she tried bharatnatyam, so credit goes to her. She needed to open her fingers and flex those finger muscles more.

For both Radhika and Kavita, i felt that the choreography left a lot to be desired. I love Kavita's bindaas attitude and her zealous nature shows in her performances. They did a tapori number but I do feel that even in such a genre, one can incorporate some really cool moves that makes someone stand out. I didn't understand Radhika's act at all...the message or the theme didn't even come across. Her transitions have improved but her partner let her down. It hardly had any substance for her to go all out.

Lastly, this year I actually like that the judges are pointing out different aspects of the act and are not echoing the same generic thoughts about a certain act. The fact that they score differently also shows their different perspectives... If someone gets a 36, it's not because it's a 9 from everyone but coz there was an 8 and there was a 10 as well. I really appreciate that. Lauren's pointers are actually good this week and Shahid is soo polite and courteous. i love how he words his comments but sometimes I do feel that at least one of the judges overscores an act a tad bit more than the others.

So far I'm finding this to be a much better season than the last few in terms of overall dancing and content...last few seasons were cookie cutter in nature in that there was one strong/trained dancer and the usual 2-3 TV actors attempting to dance their way through mediocre choreographies.

So far this season I see a marked improvement in terms of choreography as well as the kind of contestants there are this time around...barring the usual TV "non dancers", I feel like the rest of the bunch is genuinely hard working, sincere and INTO the show this time...that's making a difference...

I quite enjoyed most of the performances...even Radhika did a good job I felt...unlike most of the TV actresses sticking to a typical acting-based formula, I still see her dancing and having some style to her dancing.

Faisal is outstanding as I expect him to be...poor kiddo has really gained some weight though...lol he should grow his hair and try to achieve his DID days weight again.

Raftaar is fantastic...he has that natural swag as Lauren rightly pointed out and is charming with what he speaks too...Sneha and him are a good match...she can get something out of him.

Deepak is also doing a good job with Shamita...Kavita stands out for how much she enjoys herself during her performances...

I think the only insipid character right now for me is Dipika...total washout...doesn't have personality while dancing.

As for the judging...Shahid is fun when he's not jumping over to the stage and trying to play host...I like his comments otherwise...they feel genuine and not so put on...Lauren is adorable too in the way she's trying and she gives good/clear points.

I am surprisingly enjoying the season more than I expected to so far...lol...depends on how long the interesting contestants are allowed to stay as the popular TV personalities squeeze them out of the way in terms of votes.
