My favs so far this year has to be Shamita and Raftaar. Shamita is an absolutr delight onscreen! I haven't ever been her fan and I definitely did not notice her dance skills till Jhalak started. Hoping she'd go far!

Raftaar is kinda trained? So um, yeah he's good and the energy level is something I'd have missed if he wasn't there.

I think Scarlett could do great as well since she is trained but we're yet to see that. Haven't seen anything extraotdinary so far.

Okay, I had a lot like A LOT of hopes from Sanaya and I was blindly rooting for her beforethe show started but sadly, nothing great happened and I'm utterly sad about that. She has a good choreographer so I'm not letting go of my hopes yet. Also, she improved in the second week.

Dipika and Radhika are both really off for me. Their skills are about alright to perform on an award show but definitely not Jhalak material.

Vivian----let us not.

Mohit is pretty good too, can definitely do better.

Ashish is surprisingly pleasant! I'm upset over the incident because really, he could've easily scored a 34 and now, he might just get evicted which isn't gonna be right.

I liked Kavita's performance better last week. The song was well suited and the choreography was pulled off well.

I don't get the hype over Faisal. He's good, yes. Best at the moment, yes but nothing to lose my mind over. Last week, honestly I felt it was pretty average. The prop was cool but his performance wasn't anything fancy. This week was MUCH better and very enjoyable too.

Subhreet is amazing for someone who dances on one foot but if I have to judge without being biased towards her disability then she is alright. She has her reasons, so I can't really say much.

Lol that's everyone covered. I'm actually enjoying this season even though the best dances are yet to happen. I'm also happy that they didn't bring a dance show winner this time because that becomes seriously unfair. Really excited for next week!

Hi Medha...yep main yahaan...aap bhi yahaan? 😆

Was a bit late in catching up to the show and couldn't find working links for week 1 so just started following it from this week and surprisingly liking it more than the previous few seasons.

The nautanki gags I forward but the rest of the show is better than the last few seasons...I like the judging reboot too...KJO looks bored but then he should be out soon anyways to go shoot his movie...Shahid is sweet with his comments when he's not doing the nautanki with Manish.

The moment yesterday when Ganesh did the nautanki of giving Sanaya a 9 then running on onstage to hug MANISH instead was the highlight😆

I skipped the excessive drama...perks of watching online! U can get a proxy extension or software and watch it on the colors site.
I like Shahid as a judge, he is spontaneous and his comments are really very nicely worded. Lauren should just speak in english...her forceful hindi looks caricature-ish, takes away from her actual inputs.
can they plz drop the gay jokes and dumb flirting tricks plz? even Manish isn't funny anymore!

And honestly, anything is better than last season. The contestants are balanced this time around and are sincere. Plus, no Madhuri...that woman got on my nerves with her nakhras and the others doing her pooja every 2 minutes.

Well...there we have it. Jhalak being Jhalak as usual.
Chalo theek hai. Shakti and Lauren both didn't win so I guess I can't complain.

Also, why isn't Salman choreographing anymore? Such a brilliant dancer, damn!
Shampa, Punit, Savio are all missing. Punit is judging DID so that makes sense but these guys were some intense choreos! Brought the best out of everyone.

It's just the beginning so I still have a lot of hopes! And second week was faaar better than the first so yay haha.

@Chaandaniya: Thank you! I agree with everything you said except I liked Mohit overall better this week. But that's alright, we all have our opinions. He's really lucky to have Marischa. I think the pair can go really far and I am excited to see their journey.

@Saheba: Thank you for your insights! I didn't watch the last season through but I agree that it was the worst with S6 coming a very close second. I don't bother with the useless, I just forward it. Perks of not watching live.
I liked the judgement a lot better this week. We don't always have to agree with the judges, but their should be some substance in their feedback. I found all 4 judges to be a lot more credible this week than last in that regard.
Manish is one anchor who doesn't need a co-host but I don't appreciate the judges butting in his work. Some fun is fine but let him do his job. Only for that reason, I wish for another person.
I agree with you on Vivian and Radhika. Why I liked his performance better than hers is because he was engaged in his act which she was not. But she is definitely a better dancer, in fact one of the best of the season. Which is why these two weeks have been disappointing from her.
Faisal is a better dancer than his partner but Vaishnavi doesn't bother me as much as she bothers other. Unless she starts proving to be a liability for his performances, I think they're good.

@Savz_Startling: I didn't have a problem with the choreography other than Radhika's and Kavita's but you're pretty bang-on about the rest of the stuff. I agree Sanaya and her choreographer need to establish a better understanding. Her performance was much better than last week but pretty lackluster compared to the rest this week.
I disagree about Mohit though. I think his hard work is really showing. He of course has a long way to go before getting rid of the non-dancer tag but it's only the second week.
I have never heard of choreographers faking injury to quit. Jhalak is a big platform for them, way bigger then it is for some of the artists' in fact so I think Vrushali is a genuine case.
Thank you for your reply!

@Tanzie: Thank you so much! The look and attitude of Sanaya's performance was perfect. It set the mood and really suited her but the dance left a lot to be desired for imho. I agree though that she was much better than last week.
Vivian's choreography was definitely more difficult than last week but he managed to navigate through it more easily. He still has a long way to go but I think he is on the right path.
I think Mohit couldn't have gotten a better choreographer that Marischa personally.
I agree with the rest.
I loved reading your thoughts, thanks for replying! I'll do as much as I can. I love discussing dance :D

@Julie_Star: I agree the scoring was better this week except the 10s. The performances haven't reached that level yet. Problem is I am still stuck at a time when full marks was for something extraordinary.
Yea, Sanaya's injury is what is making me hold on. I am trying not to be too disappointed. But this week it was more of the choreography than she herself.
I agree with Faisal and Shamita being the best, Scarlett a very close second.
Thank you so much for your review!

@Anitaholic: I am pleasantly surprised in Dipika.
The act really suited Sanaya and she carried it well. But that was lucky because otherwise it was a little thanda :(

I think the trained dancers are weak this season compared to the last few season with the likes of Shakti & Lauren. Radhika a trained dancer is still yet to give an impressive act, Scarlett is a good dancer but not great even Shamita isn't that much. We would rate there act more because they're better than our non dancers. But overall I'm not that impressed with the trained dancers this season, I expected more from them.

Faisal on the other hand is excellent and for his age too.

@AreYaar: I was beginning to think i was the only one who was actually liking the choreography this season because everyone's complaining how the most established faces are not present this season!
You're bang-on about the contestants being 'into' the show this time which is why I also feel the connection I had lost when this moved to Colors.
I see what you mean about the acting-based thing. Sanaya, Dipika, Kavita and the men, they are actors first and in the process of becoming 'dancers' via this show. I truly feel the lot this time is the best Colors' has had since it took over. Radhika is a dancer first and then became an actress. So I see why there is a difference. She has technique in her body courtesy her training but I don't find her involved in her performance at all which disconnects me as an audience. And in my school, that was not considered to be the sign of a good dance performance. Radhika is a good dancer but she is yet to give a good performance which is why she has disappointed me. But it's only been two weeks. I am not dissing her at all.
And for your last comment, I do agree with it. I hope for a lot of these contestants to stay for long. Not everyone from TV makes it too far but they're not one of the early-goers either. Still, the bottom two this time was two TV actresses. And if you're talking of Vivian and Sanaya, I won't hold my breath. They're going to go really far.

@MissDareDevil: I don't appreciate unwarranted remarks against physical attributes of any contestant in my post. If you really have an urge to reply, try discussing what this show is meant for and keep hockey sticks and golgappas out of it.

@--megs_arsha--: A lot of us expected more from Radhika. But it's only been two weeks, I am still hoping she'll bounce to her full form soon.
About Scarlett, well I don't really know about her much. All I know is I am probably looking forward the most to her performances. I don't see a winner in her either way.
Thank you for your reply!

@nine2: Hi, thank you, nice to see you again! And please do disagree! I love it when people disagree with me (respectfully of course), it makes for more fun discussions. Thank you for posting your DDT review since I didn't visit there this week.
I don't know much about classical (except telling a good performance from a bad one) so I appreciate the little insight into that. I see what you mean about the lazy hands though especially since it's the most common mistake those attempting classical make.
I agree, Sanaya's performance was missing a spark despite how much the act suited her. I am holding on to my patience though keeping in mind her injury.
Oh I had a problem with all the 10s given. But like you, I don't mind them being critical of Sanaya, they should be fair though.
Vivian felt overscored compared to especially Mohit and Radhika but if we compare his last week's 32 to this week's 32, I think it was fine.
I am actually more in favour of judging by capability but i agree there has to be some common yardstick as a base.
@spotlight: Beats me, I was wondering the same!

@RollingStones: Thank you so much for your kind words!
You so echo my thoughts on this week, I have nothing to add. It's okay if we disagree on Faisal, not everyone can agree on everything :)

@SheDevil: Thank you! I get what you're saying about Sanaya, I guess I was hoping for more specially after reading all those articles which basically gave me the impression that she did amazingly.
Rest I agree with everything you said :)

@-ChitraRocking-: Thank you so much!

@-enchanted-: Thanks a lot!
Omg, Ikr, about Shamita? I was really expecting an off-putting personality but she is really genuine. Absolutely loving her!
I also agree about wanting to see more Indian. If there is one thing I am doubting about this season's choreographers on the whole, it's how much of they can carry off Indian. Vaibhav's choreography was lovely though even if Dipika couldn't do full justice to it. Still I enjoyed her performance.
I agree with all your assessments of the performances. I really enjoyed reading them so thanks a lot for taking time to reply. I also echo your concerns about the overall presentation of the show. I didn't watch it live this week so I forwarded through most of it but I could still make out it's not flattering and one of the instances I did catch, I mentioned in my main post.
I am as excited to see the choreographers getting better as the weeks pass as I am about the contestants so I don't mind the new faces either. In fact it might add some freshness.

@medha16: Thank you for your review!
I agree with Sanaya still being mechanical with her dance. She needs to feel it more and engage her audience but the quality of her moves were a lot better. I think once she is comfortable with doing her steps, she will start being more expressive. In this department I am not being too harsh on the non-dancers yet. I will give them a couple more weeks for that.
I don't think Vivian is lacking hard work but he needs to control his nerves more on stage. Even though they weren't as evident this time, I am pretty sure that's what made him forget his steps.
Dipika has a long way to go but I see the potential in her to make that journey. She is not as much of a non-dancer as Sanaya, Vivian and Mohit. She has a certain grace but she needs to work really hard. Vaibhav is a star!
I echo your sentiments on the judgement!

@nakhre.: I don't know about Raftaar being trained but he certainly has a lot of spark and I look forward to him in the coming weeks.
It's very difficult for me to really judge Ashish's progress but even I am not ready to let go of him yet. I want to see a little more of him in the competition. I wonder who his choreographer would be.
Kavita's choreography was better last week but she herself, I liked more this time. Maybe because she was more comfortable in her skin.
I also liked Faisal better this week. He's a brilliant dancer but unfortunately, that's why I expect extraordinary from him.
Haha Faisal is a dance show winner! But based on the first two weeks, I also have hopes from this season!

@BeingBlunt: Aw thank you so much! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have bothered with this this week so dedication toh banta hai. I did read your review in the last thread and acknowledged it by 'liking'. I didn't reply because you didn't leave anything for me to say, you covered everything! Hope to read your thoughts of this week soon :D

@Julie_Star: I echo your sentiment there but Shakti and Lauren were at another level. No one has ever come close to them in any other season, not just this one. I expected more from especially Radhika but not of these two's level :)
