Chapter 1
Patel House
"Roshuu.." screamed Sam in excitement opening her arms out; standing at the porch.
Roshni had just gotten out of the car and throwing all her luggage on the ground she ran towards her sister. She embraces her as tightly as possible not wanting to let go of her.
"Sammyy, I missed you so soo much!!"
"Me too baby!! 5 years it's been!!" she said and loosened the hug to scan her sister from top to bottom.
"And you look more beautiful and sexy in person!!" she hugs her again.
"Less than you, di! Now shall we go inside, I am starving!" exclaimed Roshni.
She entered her home and found it exactly the way it was 5 years back. Sam goes towards the kitchen whereas Roshni looks around the house. She walks up to the fireplace and looks at the photo frames kept on the top shelf. Pictures of when they were young, pictures with her mother, she picks up the frame in her hand and her finger lingers over the photo. Sam comes from behind and calls out,
"Sweety, Food will get cold!"
Roshni wipes the drop of tear that rolled down her cheeks and keeps the photo frame; she turns to look at her sister staring at her.
"Let's go! My tummy is growling!" she said pretending to be happy and walks towards the kitchen while looking around to see any sign of her mother.
"She is not at home." stated Sam and serves her.
"Who?" she acted.
"Mom. Like you don't know whom I am talking about." said Sam and stands on the other side of the counter.
Roshni starts eating and says, "Yumm, My fav and just by eating it I can say that you made it!"
"She wanted to be here, but last minute there was an emergency in the shop so she had to leave." said Sam.
"Why are we still talking about her? I don't care and I don't want to know." stated Roshni.
"She has changed A LOT." she said.
"Yeaah, right!" retorted Roshni sarcastically.
"You will see."
Khurana House
"KIDS!!" said Mr. Khurana in frustration.
"What happen, Dad?" asked Kritika.
"Ringing the door bell and running away!!" he said.
"But nothing like that has happened in years!" said Simran.
The door bell rings again. Mr. Khurana takes a bat and goes to the main door. Kritika and Simran follow him asking him not to get so angry unreasonably. He opens the door,
"Dad don't hit them they are just kids.." said Kritika and looks outside.
"I will not leave you"" stopped Mr. Khurana when he sees who was standing in front of him.
"First catch me, old man" the person winked.
"Sidd!!" screamed Simran and hugs him.
"Bro, tum? You were supposed to come after 2 weeks na??" she said and hits him on his cheeks playfully.
"Main toh 2 weeks ke baad hi aunga, aaj toh mera bhoot aaya hai!!" he teased. Everyone laughs and Simran starts crying with happiness.
"Arre mom, please! No rona dhona! Do I look so bad that I made you cry?" he said wiping her tears. She smiles and hugs him again.
"Kya baat hai, itna pyaar kabhi hamare upar bhi barsa diya kare?" said Raj playfully. Simran blushes and glares at him, while Siddharth hugs his Dad.
"Ahh Dad!! I missed you." he said.
"Me too puttar ji!"
"Let's go inside now, yahi rehene ka irada hai kya aap sab ka?" said Kritika.
Roshni's Room
Roshni was unpacking her stuff while Sam was lying on the bed. Roshni gives her sister all the clothes that she had brought for her from Paris. Sam was way excited and was blabbering away about her wedding which would take place after 15 days.
"I cannot believe that Mom agreed with your idea of a Church Wedding!!" exclaimed Roshni.
"Yea right? Even I was shocked! I thought everyone would be against it.. but Yash was too sweet and.."
"And.. he could literally do anything you wanted!" finished Roshni.
"Yes!! Oh I can't wait for you to meet him!!" said Sam.
"Yeah me too! I would love to see the person who has agreed to handle my mental sister for life!" she said pulling her cheeks.
"Hey, shut up!" said Sam and throws a pillow at her.
"Ha ha.. I am just kidding! Don't get angry!" said Roshni.
"We are having dinner tonight with him and...and his cousins." said Sam closing her eyes, knowing her sisters outburst.
"What?? Did you just say cousin-S? DI!! You told me he is not going to be here! You said he will just come for the wedding!!" she screamed.
"I'm sorry, Roshuu.. Yash told me today only, that he is coming today itself!" she said trying to pacify her sister.
"Ugh!! I hate him! And you know that, and you are making me have dinner with him!" she shrieked in annoyance.
"Baby, you guys have grown up now! You don't even know each other.. whatever happened it was in the past.. a long time ago.." she tried making her understand.
"True that I have not seen him... past I donno.. what? maybe 10 years or so? And I thank god for saving my eyes from seeing that toad!" she said.
"Roshni.. Please you have to come. It's MY wedding! I should be throwing tantrums and here you..." she said in a low voice.
"Sammy, you know it's not about you. Anyway, I want to be left alone. Please." said Roshni looking through her window.
"I will leave around 7p.m.. I hope you will come with me." she said and leaves.
Roshni was looking outside; she sees a small girl riding a bicycle in the road and remembers one of her encounters with him.
[FLASHBACK : It was one of their summer vacations, Roshni was riding her bicycle happily. It was a pink and white bike with a basket in front; she had kept her favourite teddy, Mr. Toodles in it that day. She was talking to him while riding the bicycle.
"It's such a pleasant day, right Mr. Toodles? I love my new school. Good riddance of him!!" she said happily.
Just then Siddharth comes in his skate board from the opposite direction and snatches away the teddy bear.
"Arre!! What are you doing!! Give Mr. Toodles back!" she yelled at him while turning her bike to chase him. He yells back,
"What did you call this? Mr. Toodles? Toodles aaj tera noodles bana daalunga main!" he teased and keeps on skating.
"Stop it, Shorty! Give my teddy back!" she screamed back.
Finally he stops, angry on her for calling him Shorty, it was true that his height was less but that did not give her the right to call him that. He holds the teddy bear with it's ears and teases her further on,
"Oh oh Bunny coming to rescue her Mr. Toodles!! Yeh ek kaan ke bina masst lagega na??"
"Don't!!" she pointed a finger at him.
"Ooo.. I am scared!" he pulls one ear with all his strength and manages to get it out. He smirks at her, while tears rolled down her cheeks and throws the teddy towards her.
"This was for calling me, Shorty!" he said and skates away showing a tongue at her.
She wipes her tears in anger and says,
"You messed with the wrong girl!"
Next day when Siddharth tries to find his skate board in his garden, he sees that all the wheels were broken. And something was scribbled on it,
"Next time it will be your bones, SHORTY!"
He throws the skateboard in frustration and yells, "BUNNYYY!!"]
Roshni was grinning now, she turns to her study table at the corner of the room, all her soft toys were kept on it. She spots Mr. Toodles and picks him up. Her fingers ponder over his ears which were untidily sewn.
"Arrgh!! I hate him!! Why Di, why are you torturing me? Couldn't you have fallen for anybody in the world except HIS brother!!" she said out loud.
Siddharth's Room
Kritika was tapping her feet; waiting impatiently for Siddharth to unpack so that she could get her gifts from him. Yash comes inside and gives a bear hug to his brother.
"Dude!!! Thank God you are here!!" he said.
"How could I not come, bro! Aapki band bajne wali hai aur bhala main na aayu!!" he teased.
"Bhai Chara hogaya ho tumlog ka toh mujhe mere gifts mil sakte hai??" asked Kritika.
"Gifts? What gifts? Who told you I brought gifts for you?" said Siddharth playfully, pulling her legs.
"Bro, don't test me anymore.. I am telling you.. " she glared at him now.
"Kitty!! Relax.. open the bag behind you.. everything in it is for you!" he smiled.
She jumps excitedly and opens the bag. It was filled with exclusive clothes, shoes and accessories! She takes out a scarf, which was squished at the corner and says,
"Wow, bro! Nice scarf." she exclaimed. Siddharth looks up to see what she was talking about and sees the scarf in her hand. He immediately strides towards her and snatches the scarf, leaving her mouth wide open in shock.
"That was rude." commented Yash who was lying on the bed.
"Uhh.. this is not for you." said Siddharth flatly without looking at either of them and hides the scarf in his cupboard.
"When did you start wearing a girl's scarf?" asked Kritika questiongly. Yash gets up as he was intrigued too.
"Oh my god, dude!! Is that HER scarf?" he asked in excitement.
"Her who??" asked Kritika and looks at Siddharth. Siddharth was hiding his face looking inside the cupboard.
"Sid, who is he talking about??" she said and makes him turn to face them.
"Oh, he met a girl on his way here." stated Yash.
"What!! A girl!!" exclaimed Kritika in astonishment.
"Errh.. What did you want? Him to meet a guy instead?" said Yash with a confused expression.
"Ahh, shut up Yash! Sidd!! Tell me! Right now!" she made him sit on the bed and sits beside him looking expectedly at him.
"Kitty.. it is nothing.. you are getting excited for nothing!" said Siddharth.
"Oh what nonsense!" Yash cuts him off and continues, "He met a girl yesterday in Mumbai airport! And he has fallen for her, head over heels type!"
"WHAAAT!? How do you know?" she asked with mixed emotions of happiness and jealousy.
"Uhh.. coz he told me, duh!" said Yash.
"Why didn't he tell me?" she asked.
"Coz, it is guy stuff! Stop getting so possessive of him. Admit it he is more closer to me that you!" teased Yash.
"I am not interested in arguing with you! Bottom line is - my baby bro is in love!! Oh my God!!" she said excitedly and hugs Siddharth. He was in a trance looking at them bantering away.
"Yep, that he is! Wow. After me he is gonna get screwed! Kitty you are saved!" he said.
"What screwed! He will get married to his love. Ahh I can't wait for the wedding! Oh, shoot I need to buy more clothes!" she said.
"Marriage? He will back out before that. You know that he has commitment issues!" said Yash.
"No.. no no!! I will slap the shit out of him if he lets this girl go away and breaks her heart!" she said.
"Yeah, don't worry sis I am with you on this one!" he gives a high five to her.
"You guys do know, that I am sitting right here?" said Siddharth finally.
"So?" giggled Kritika.
"And calm down you guys!! You haven't even met her and you are taking her side over me? What bullshit siblings I have!" he said in exasperation.
"Stop with your melodrama! When are we meeting her?" asked Kritika.
"Uhh.. I don't know.. I.." he looks at her and then Yash.
"What do you mean?" asked Yash raising his eyebrows.
"I...I.. forgot.. to take her number!!" he said out loud.
"WHAT!!" they said in unison. Yash hits his face with his palm and Kritika smacks Siddharth's head.
Patel house: Living Room
Sam was waiting for her sister. She looked at her watch and then the stairs. Roshni comes down saying continuously,
"I'm SORRY! I'm sorry...I know I am late!" she hurries down and stands beside her sister finally. She was wearing a white skirt and a white crop top, with cute ear studs and bracelets she was looking like a doll. Sam hugs and her says,
"Aww baby, you look so pretty!"
"You too, ekdum kaatilana lag rahi ho Di! Aaj toh Yash ko love attack hone se koi nahi rok sakta!" she winked at her sister.
"Yash?" she said.
"Oops!! Now he is jijuu, right?" she teased making Sam blush.
After a while, on their way to the restaurant Sam suddenly remembers something and asks,
"Oh I totally forgot to ask you! I am so inconsiderate! How did you manage to come after the bus broke down?" she said tucking her sisters hair behind her ears so that she could have a proper look at her face.
"Uhh.. Di.." Roshni fumbled remembering the errands of her previous day.
"What? Did that guy irritate you any further?" she asked with concern.
Roshni's cheeks reddened up as her sister mentioned HIM. She instantly turns her face to the other side avoiding her sister's inquisitive glare.
"Rosh?"she pestered.
"No..No..Sammy.. he did not. I .. I..came.." she gulped down as her mind raced to think of some excuses. She knew how her sister was overly-protective and possessive when it came down to her.
She was saved by the brakes of the car, as they had reached their destination. The driver gets out and opens the car door,
"I am not finished yet, we will talk about this later." Sam said in a commanding tone and gets out. Roshni sighs with relief and follows her sister while she mouths the driver a thank you.
"Babe, Please behave today. I don't want any unnecessary taunting and comments from you for Siddharth." said Sam with pleading eyes.
"Siddharth? Was that his name? Eeeww naam bhi bekaar like his personality" she said with a disgusting face.
"Roshuu!!" said Sam sternly.
"Ohho Di! Don't worry! I will behave.." she makes her sister walk in front and says softly to herself "if he does!"
Siddharth's Car
"Tu saamne dekh ke gaari chala, bhai.. shaadi ke pehle nahi marna mujhe!" said Yash when Siddharth was looking at the CD's to select the music.
"Yep, ek kaam toh dhang se kar atleast!" said Kritika who was sitting at the back.
"Oh God!! Aaplog kab yeh taunt karna bandh karoge? I know I made a mistake by not asking her number!" he said in frustration.
"Uhh.. when you will stop behaving like a retard!" said Yash sarcastically.
"Yaar, I am going home! I don't want to go for dinner!" he said out and begins to search for a divider to take a u-turn.
"What? Why!" asked Yash.
"Firse iske stupid tantrums start ho gaye!" said Kritika and sighs looking outside the window.
"What why! Like you don't know! That stupid, brainless, stubborn,ugly girl is going to be there! I was gonna tolerate her just for you and aaplog mera hi taang kheech rahe ho tabse!!" he said.
"Ugly? Brainless? Bro, you don't know her, she is a famous artist in Paris.. and trust me I have seen her pics, she is hot! Like hot HOT!!" said Kritika. Siddharth was making faces listening to her sister praising about her, he was about to yell back when Yash interferes,
"Ok, ok brother! Chillax! We will stop commenting about that, but you got to promise to behave!" he said.
"What? Like agreeing to come for the dinner was not enough?" he asked incredulously.
"Yaar, Sam is very protective of her.. tu kuch ulta mat bolna warna tu toh jaega hi tere saath mera bhi patta kat ho jaega!!" he begged with his eyes.
"Kya baat hai.. shaadi huyi nahi uske pehle hi biwi ke liye itna socha ja raha hai!" he teased.
"This is nothing, baby bro.. she knows how to handle him very well... after all merese training jo lia hai!" said Kritika.
"Good job, Kitty!!" said Siddharth and smirked. They had reached the restaurant. They both get out and ask Siddharth to meet them directly in the restaurant after parking the car.
The Restaurant
"Kitty!!" said Sam and hugs her.
"Meet my baby Sister, Roshni!" she said introducing her. Roshni smiled at them as they look at her. Yash comments on Kritika's ears,
"You were right, she is hot HOT!!"
Kritika nudges him with her elbow and glares at him. She then turns and smiles at Roshni taking her by surprise by hugging her.
"Finally! We are meeting! Last I check we met when you had come here on vacation from school right?" she asked.
"Yea I guess!" replied Roshni.
"Rosh, this is Kritika and this is.." said Sam and looks at Yash who winks at her making her blush.
"That is my hero! My savior!" said Roshni. Yash looks at her questiongly, she continues,
"Because you are finally taking her away from me and saving me from her you-know-what!" she winked and laughed. This made everyone laugh and Sam scowls at them.
"Baby, that is true! Even you got to admit it!" he said to Sam.
Roshni's phone buzzed, she excused herself and walks up to the entrance.
"Hello? Yea, Rick..Can you hear me? Uhh..wait give me a sec!" she said coming out of the restaurant and bumps into a guy who was walking inside. She loses her balance as her heel cracks, and before she could fall on the ground he catches her in his arms.
He was cursing his brother for selecting his wife who was his arch enemy's sister, while he strode towards the entrance. Out of the blue, he bumps into a girl and before she could fall down he holds her. When he looks at her face, a wide smile spreads across his face and his eyes lighten up.
"Bhagyashree??" he gasps in astonishment.
Hearing that name her eyes shoot open, coz she knew only one person who had called her by that name. She looks at him stunned, and replies back, "Sid?" They were lost in each other's thoughts as they recalled the moments that they spent with each other. A car honk finally brings them back to their reality and Siddharth makes her stand properly, before she could fall.
"Oh my God! What a pleasant surprise!" he exclaimed.
"Yeah, what are you doing here?" she asked him.
"I came for dinner with my siblings." he responded immediately.
"Me too." she replied.
"I..I..should have..have..asked...for..your..num-" he fumbled as she stared at his eyes intently.
"Oh Look. They met finally." someone said from the back. They turn to look at the trio, who were looking at them waiting for any outburst. Roshni and Siddharth look at them questiongly and he snaps,
"What do you mean?"
"Bro, that is Roshni, Sam's sister." said Yash.
"Bro? He is your.." Roshni closes her eyes and turns to look at him. "Sid..as in Siddharth.. as in Siddharth Khurana!??" she said softly in between her teeth.
"Bunny?" he said making a wry face.
She closes her eyes in anger and says, "Oh f**k me."
"Already did." he says sarcastically. Her eyes snaps open glowering at him as if she would readily eat him alive. He keeps on looking at her, and scratches his forehead with irritation.
