National Parents’ Day is more than just a date on the calendar. It is a heartfelt reminder of the quiet strength, unwavering love, and foundational values our parents gift us, often without fanfare. Through their daily sacrifices, tough decisions, and tender moments, they shape not only our personalities but our entire paths in life. They are the voices in our heads during difficult decisions and the safe space we come home to, no matter how old we get.

To honour this special day, Zee TV’s beloved actor Priya Thakur, who essays the lead role in Vasudha, opened up about the profound influence her parents have had on her journey, from nurturing her early dreams to celebrating every small win along the way.

“My parents have always been my biggest cheerleaders,” Priya shared fondly. “Every time they visit me on set, the pride in their eyes makes every struggle worth it. One of my most cherished memories is celebrating Diwali with them, waking up early to help my mom decorate the house with diyas and rangoli, while my dad made sure we had the best sweets from our favourite shop. We would all get dressed up and light crackers together in the evening. That feeling of joy and togetherness is unforgettable.”

Priya also revealed her special plans for this year’s Parents’ Day, a nostalgic nod to her roots and the unchanging love of her family.

“I am planning to recreate one of our old family photos, same pose, same warmth, just a lot more love added over the years.”

Through moments in the kitchen, lessons after auditions, and phone calls that ended in both tears and laughter, Priya says her parents have been her grounding force. Their values, their resilience, and their belief in her dreams continue to guide her even on the toughest days.

As we celebrate National Parents’ Day, Priya’s story reminds us to pause, reflect, and honour the people who gave us more than just life. They gave us love, dreams, and the courage to chase them.

Let this day be a gentle nudge to call your parents, recreate old memories, or simply say thank you, because they truly are the builders of who we are.
