Just like Anjali, they have bring lot of contadictions in other people's character. They either make characters extremely white or extremely black. There is no balance in any of the character . All are confused & sometimes they became invisible, when focus went to protagonists.

I can understand all the flaws of Anjali (credit to the writers again). But the problem with her is her habit. She is habituated with Arnav's attention & care so much that sometimes she want him to have someone special in his life & when he does exactly same, she believes she holds no more importance in his life.

She is not vile. She is just trapped in her confused feeling & could not figure it out. After being the sole important person in her brother's life , who has been more than a best friend, confidante & support system to her , it is quite normal for her to not accept thee sharing of same position with somebody else.

Whereas after her broken marriage , she felt grateful towards Shyam for accepting her as her life partner. Out of that gratefulness only, she looked beyond every flaws of Shyam.

Anjali's character did have huge amount of potential to brings lots of shades & characteristics, because she is another important character in the story. We can hate her, absolutely abuse her, but to be very honest, IPKKND would not have been possible without her. If she is not there, Shyam would not have been there & then the story would have never formed. 😉😉😉

One can love her, hate her but simply can't ignore her. Afterall, she is the reason, we are here to discuss about her only.

Thanks for your comments.

To support my rantings, I would like to further say, for Anjali to be a parallel lead or an important character, she needs to have some strong qualities, good, bad or ugly. She has none. All her qualities are superficial. This is one of the reasons, why I can't give her any credit.

Others have flaws too! I will discuss them later.

If anybody has noticed or not, mere mention of Anjali or any sort of unhappiness to Anjali brings the monster out in Arnav. How come Anjali is not aware of it? During fashion show fiasco, Khushi said if your sister's marriage is about to break what would you do? Arnav became a devil and became the reason for Payal's broken wedding. Anjali fell and hurt her foot and Arnav threw 1 lakh rupees at Khushi's face to bring her back to RM to train Lavanya. We all know what happened after the terrace hug. We all know what happened after Anjali tried to abort the baby. But one look at Arnav, Anjali figured out, she lost her Rajkumari at the hospital. Arnav was devastated on various occasions before and after. Why did Anjali not figure things out then?

Arnav said, if she does not take care of herself, he won't go through the wedding rituals. Even though she said she has so many Armaan, Anjali did not participate in any of them wholeheartedly. Her mind was always with Shyam.

Actually, Anjali gave her husband a license to stray during renewing her wedding vows after Teej. May be that is the reason why she never bother to find out the truth. I can go on and on but I better stop here.

Cheers...

I actually agree with you about Anjali. I never liked her character. For me she was manipulative and dominating person. She was also self-centered. She manipulative by blackmailing Khushi to start working as a trainer for Lavanya. And she always wanted everyone to do her bidding especially Arnav. After the kidnapping scene she told Arnav that he changed and doesn't love her like he used too. Did she ever think that Arnav too would have felt like that when she married Arnav. She always said that she wanted Arnav's happiness but still she was upset because for once Arnav wanted to live life with Khushi.
I also think it was the over pampering she got from everyone made her like that.

I know this thread is for Anjali's character analysis but I wanted to share one more thing that always pricked me.
After Kidnapping scene everyone was seeing Anjali's pain because as usual she was wanting to gain sympathy from others. But the most thing pricked me was when nani asked Khushi to stay away from Anjali because she is in pain. And what happened to Khushi's pain. She had not only been suffering Arnav's harsh words but also Shyam's ill actions. And what about when she fell from clif and nobody checked her wounds. Just told her to stay away.

Thanks for your comments. Yes, I also did not like the way Nani asked Khushi to stay away from Anjali. That gives an impression that Khushi is wrong. What if some thing had happened to Khushi because of Anjali unintentionally? Would she have asked Anjali to stay away from Khushi? In fact, Anjali has a habit of barging into Arnav's room. What did Nani want Khushi to do then? Run into the bathroom and lock herself up?

You have it right. I also thought her very selfish and shallow. She is very good at blackmailing other. She always give this helpless behaviour to get others to dance to her tune. She knows every bodies business but her own.She feels she is entitle and no one else should be important in Arnav's life. I did not feel sorry for her because she was told about Shyam and she could have investigate what Khushi told her. There is Buaji, Babuaji, Garima and the entire Laxmi Nagar to ask. Her ignorance of Arnav's kidnapping amazes me. Her neat Armani dressing brother came home dirty and ragged and she is only concern for her husband. It shows that she only loved what he had to offer her and her husband. She never thought for once that for such a hard working long travelling husband why she has to be giving him her brother's money ALL THE TIME. You sum it up well.

Thanks for your comments. I am receiving my bonus in the form of encouraging comments like this.

What I found strange also was anything Shyam wanted she gave him without thinking of the consequences. For a traditional and pooja loving lady I did not expect her to send Shyam to bath in her brother's room with his wife alone there. The Huge mansion does not have any guest room for him to bath? She didn't thought it strange to send Shyam to the room with her SIL in it? It shows that she had no respect for Khushi and didn't see her as anyone of importance in the family. Then she turn around blaming Khushi for her problems.

These are all fantastic points! Anjali really did need to work on herself as a person; developing a spine and a powerful personality is a must for her personal growth now

Anjali flaws started becoming clear from the entry of La. She made la fast for her brother and tell him to break la fast. This should not have happened because they are not married. Also La should not have been invited to stay at RM and welcome like a new bride to the house. Every wrong la did she said it is a mistake even calling the police to check Khushi.

first I want to give you a big applause to your post on anjali's character. First of all why anjali want a husband I mean she lives in arnav's house if she wants to go to hospital or temple she wants to arnav accompany her,she eats arnav's hard earned money, she buys her sarees jewelries by arnav's hard earned money ,whenever she gets sad she wants arnav's shoulder to cry and tell how much she is helpless then why she want a husband only to make her pregnant. sorry if I rude because iam really pissed of her character. she wants everyone pampering her like a princess

even I also don't like anjali's character. what I don't like about her character if she loved her husband that much then when arnav kicked out shyam to RM why don't she demanded she also wants to go with him instead of she said " mere pati ko wapas lao " seriously afterwards also she feeds money to her snake husband. its really sad arnav kabhi khushi ka goodness deki nahi paya. in spite of being big businessman's wife she started her own dabba service. she never used his money. What she got in return a gold digger name I can say many more things but in spite of all the flaws we loved / loving our serial.

character and how I beg to differ with them.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">So, my fellow Arshians or die-hard fans of Pujali or Shyali, are you
ready for a roller coaster ride?</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Oh boy, stop shooting daggers at me, will you?</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Happy now?</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Lots of members praised Anjali or treated her as a positive
character. I tried to look at her from that perspective and failed
miserably. Every time I start looking at her as a sweet, loving and
caring sister and wife, she did something to pull me back to my original
conclusion, which is ------- well --------- she is a clueless, confused, weak
and to some extent a selfish character.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">So, finally I have decided to present my case on her character after 5
long years.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">By the way, I missed all the fun 5 years ago, because I did not know
about IF in those days.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">The makers wanted to create an intelligent, strong, beautiful, elegant,
caring and loving sister Anjali to match with a handsome, powerful, arrogant,
ruthless and rich business tycoon brother ASR. But what they ended up
creating was a clingy, clueless, confused and flawed Anjali. These
qualities actually overshadowed her originally developed qualities. Mind
you, they were consistent in her characterization, so, we cannot attribute all
her actions to creative amnesia or bloopers. To move the show forward,
Anjali needs to be in the dark and not supposed to know or figure out the most
important happenings in her brother and husband's lives, while living with them
in the same house and while claiming that she knows everything about
them. That surely makes her a clueless, confused and flawed person.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Why make her a mother figure way before making her a biological mother
and then make her try to abort her own baby?</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Why make her sulk, when her brother is getting cozy with his wife in his
own bedroom, couple of days after her cheater husband was thrown out of the
house, and then make her getting cozy with her husband couple of days after her
own baby's death?</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Why make her worry about her husband spending his hard earned money,
while making her spend her brother's hard earned money without batting an eye
lid?</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Why make her inquire about her brother's every day activities while
making her ignore her husband's everyday activities?</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Why make her stay away from confrontation with every other family member
or important family situations while constantly confronting her brother in
matters she does not even have a clue?</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Why make her preach others about a sacred husband wife relationship,
while making her not follow the same?</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Why make her claim that she loves her brother and can do anything for
her brother, while making her forget about his kidnapping. It is not even
forgetting, she never raised that topic as if it is not a big deal.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Why make her enjoy the attention she was getting from all the hard
working and non-working Raizada members while making her order others not to
disturb her hard working husband?</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">It is kind of - leave my husband alone, he is working very hard, but I
will sulk for his absence and if you want, you can stop what you are doing and
mollycoddle me.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">That is why Anjali's character lost our or at least my sympathy.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">This is what I want to talk about.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">I have a request. This is about characters and not about
actors. So, kindly stay away from bashing actors please! In my
opinion, actors have done a fantastic job.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">This is my first attempt in writing something serious and I do not know
how to arrange my thoughts. So, they are scattered all over the
place. Please excuse me for all those mistakes including typos and
grammar mumbo-jumbo.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">All parts of this analysis are posted in consecutive posts.</font>

<font face="Comic Sans MS, Times, serif" size="2" color="#660000">Continued in the next post...</font>

I totally agree with you. I also didnt like the way Anjali constantly covered up for others mistakes calling it misunderstandings. There are things not acceptable and they shouldn't be covered up. Overall, Anjali was a very weak character!!
