Approximately 25 IPS officers reportedly visited Aamir Khan's Bandra residence. Although a report indicated a meeting, there's been no official confirmation from Khan's team or the officials. The visuals have, however, caused concern among fans. Aamir Khan’s team told News18, "We are still figuring out with Aamir," unsure of the visit's purpose.

The 16th edition will feature a special retrospective celebrating his contributions to Indian cinema, highlighted by a spotlight on his latest film, Sitaare Zameen Par.
Speaking about being a part of the IFFM 2025 as the Chief Guest, Aamir said in a statement, “I’m humbled and excited to be a part of the Melbourne Indian Film Festival. It’s a festival that truly honours the spirit of Indian cinema in all of its diversity and riches. I’m excited to interact with audiences, share some of my most valued work, and participate in discussions that honour the power of film. With Sitaare Zameen Par, we attempted to tell a story that embraces inclusivity and neurodivergence with sensitivity and heart, and I’m grateful that the film has touched so many people. I am eager to share my journey with Melbourne and shed light on the stories that matter."
Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna and starring Genelia D’Souza, earned approximately Rs 165 crore net in India within a month of its release. Aamir Khan's upcoming project is a biopic directed by Rajkumar Hirani, based on the life of Dadasaheb Phalke, the father of Indian cinema.
