That dance, what I liked is that they didn't put it across that even if he doesn't dance he's in reality a maestro at it. You know what I mean. He gave her the support that she the natural dancer needed, while going about his covert deal making!😆
The om grim him jadoo tona was on us. Do you think we'll be called a group of sad women who has absolutely lost it!!!!😆
I need to see those sbs segments. I remember one in which sanaya is telling him that he did a good job.

in pink... most certainly. and we'll be called dumb too. ha ha ha. but as long as i am jadoo tona-ed, can't do a thing, can i then.

good point about not positioning him as major dancer... but later when he does towel dance i sat up on my bed and whistled practically. such a cute bad dancer.

And now you bring this? Indu is right.. the black background makes it stunning. I notice Sanaya in the first and second one.. her look.. not the way she looks, but 'the way' she looks.. if you know what I mean..

Sanaya loves dancing.. is graceful.. and enjoys it.. it shows in her ease, confidence.. in how it feels natural in seeing her that way.. when a person isn't comfortable dancing it automatically shows I feel.. you just can't hide.. Barun may not like dancing.. but for ASR this was the dance of a lifetime.. the dance he was meant to dance.. the steps.. his to follow, to make the woman before him, his.. lovely what you wrote about Barun.. I hope it is true.. and hope he achieves such results each time he faces a challenge..

Some words that came looking at your edits..

And they danced..

He stepped on the stage.. Did he know he would make her his today? No conscious thought perhaps, but he was conscious of each atom, each molecule, each fibre in her being. She danced along. For this was where she was meant to be. In his arms. Twirling ..dipping.. whirling.. gliding..

He had surrendered his soul to this feeling.. and she was swept right along reeling..

A lean brown hand gliding along her thin bare waist, the color of ivory in the dark light.

She found herself flying, safe in his sure hands. His eyes left her face his head turned away, only to jerk back.. a demanding hand extending out. She could, but not refuse his call. She placed her hand in his. All was right with the world. Right then the world had ceased to exist. Memories came flying past. Catching.. walking away.. falling.. drawing close.

His hands remained on her back, holding on to her, as she leant backwards and he was drawn forward with her.. in a dance one usually leads.. directs the steps.. and the partner follows.. was he leading.. or was he simply following?

They stood.. bodies in contact.. souls fused.. Immersed in a heady feeling. She raised her hand in a graceful swanlike movement. Face raised. His hand followed her in its trajectory. Scorching was its path as it moved stroking, igniting. She rested on his frame. He was meant to hold her this way. Would they ever move away?

No question anymore. All the answers ever needed in this tango. Unrehearsed, instinctive.. Written by the stars themselves.. You forgot to blink because if you blinked you would miss out on a lifetime and more of love..

lovely freewheeling, rhea.

there was some sort of jadoo and poetry there... watching it i had to just get a little woozy. and though in my mind jury still out on the issue of soul and therefore soulmates, i so enjoyed reading your leap into a world where all that matters is love.

I was just going to post something on your episode 1 take thread. Just watched the episode again, felt like I was noticing things for the first time. That entry, you see things like that very often, and for me they tend to look very posey. But with him, what sort of came to mind was; still waters run deep!
How can I forget, we are oneirically bonkers!😆

Ok my aayee.. kabab me haddi...
😊
I think teri meri was choreographed quite smartly with barun in the background.. it served both purposes.. the symbolism that asr rendered her the support.. and to let the free flowing dancer in the front.. with him in the background. asr's discomfort with dance/ public display blended well with barun's in this case..
But dance in general is not just about dexterity of foot movement but also A LOT about posture. and that time , Jan 2012.. barun is anyone but asr.. he would talk walk sleep asr.. that body language is his forte.. and he brought that in perfectly.. and that was just enough to create a master piece.
Indi, you watched the towel dance??
I guess I and Ipoona are the only ones yet to watch that.. will take another janam for me to watch it.
Also, I am surely one of those who would watch the stuff I liked again and again and again than watching/ reading new stuff.. surely every watch peels a new layer..
Rhea, beautiful.. beautiful write up for teri meri... you filled in for your absence here during that time..
We should have a special thread every other month just to talk/ celebrate teri meri..

Rhea, I did ramanchi two weeks ago and watched until the hill top already..when this investigationgiri was getting hard to swallow.. so yes a lot of back and forth I do between our threads, reruns and ramanchis..😊
My knowledge of western music is very selective to only popular ones. This is one of those melodious ones. I lived in Tennessee, close to Nashville, for 7 years. That local flavor country influence is certainly there. Walking down the streets of downtown Nashville, one almost feels country from under the concrete.
But recent ones, I am not at all in touch with English. Hindi I thought gotten better actually in quality, ofcourse not counting the item numbers.
Thanks for liking the Raksha bandhan piece.

yes, indu, by jan 2012, he was absolute asr.

every muscle sinew breath.

that was asr dancing with the woman he had just hurt badly a moment ago and laughed with and released too also seeing her craziness, quite pleased that she noticed him so closely, that she didn't play him, and watching her closely because he just did... yet he had missed the fact that she really was crying... oh the constant flow of energy and zing between them, that awareness... she had danced every number more for him than anyone else... now he came to just be there and let her dance into him.

dance is such a powerful communication thing. has always been. dancing together, another way of mating... maybe that's why we giggle so much about the "close dance".

okay, many views on towel dance. i thought barun made asr do it, in the way only he can. ridiculous to think asr would ever do that, yet script asked for it... my belief, actor delivered. i loved it. his body language, to me, was asr. an asr who had forgotten to be young ages ago, but now under duress... and if he must do it, might as well do it with that killer instinct.

there was a way asr owned whatever his action was... good bad indifferent even silly. barun got that done i feel. that said to me, acting... making of character. it's when you make something asr couldn't have done into asr just did it. i quoted a beautiful michael ondaantje poem called the cinnamon peeler's wife i think, after seeing it it think.

watch when you can. you may disagree entirely with me and come seeking indi with belan.

thanks for the lovely collage of the Rakshabandhan episode.
i also loved the other raksha bandhan episode, when the difference between Arnav and Khsuhi solved.

And thanks a lot for reading my 263.
I'm glad that you enjoyed the take along with the pics and gifs.

Sohara, Agree with you , that Di Ki Saut track completely spoiled Anjali's character. This cant be the sister who has been through the thick and thin of life along with her brother. She perhaps compromised quite a few of her beliefs when she as fine with his Live in with La, then to threaten khushi to bring her back.. She was very worried for his happiness. But all that evaporated in that fortnight.
Yes, the other raksha bandhan is also beautiful..
thanks for reading.

Indu, I'm with you on that towel dance. For me it was more that ASR didn't have to do it. The real Khushi wouldn't have expected him to do something like that. As we all know the characters had been played with a lot by that time. Indi di, you introduced me to that poem. Loved it. Found this reading by Michael Ondaatje himself on Youtube. You probably have watched it. Posting anyway.

My two cents on the towel dance Indi di and Indu..

I hated it.. cringed.. put my hands on my eyes and curiously peeped out embarrassed.. terrified.. mortified.. petrified..just like you Indu..

read Indi di liked it a couple of times.. went back to watch a couple of times over the course of the 9 months have lived this show.. once for when I was making a VM in which it fit in perfectly.. I still wish he did not so it.. atleast not the towel step..

Still, slowly I don't mind it as much quite enjoy it too now.. Barun has an infectious boyish charm while doing it.. chutzpah I think is the word am looking for.. But more than anything what I realized was he was doing it for his Salmanji crazy wife.. who adored the filmy.. And he can do anything for her.. and if he has to do it for her then he won't do it in the private poolside at night just for her.. oh no.. ASR has the guts to do it in front of everybody.. not doing it opennly would not even cross his mind for he would be proud of anything he did for her.. the day of the teri meri he gave a damn.. and now he is adoring his wife openly, why should he care at all of what ASR would or would not do.. she would like it.. so he went ahead.. and somewhere in my mind if they showed him going meekly to a temple (which also I don't like too much) and staring at her then why not dance..

what i can not and will not forgive as easily is Khushi's generic reaction.. where was the feeling of being swept off her feet or beinng redered speechless by the enormity of what the man had just done for her? No.. bahuriya of raizada household with her big jhumkas.. will smile widely.. but will not show us, if at all it was there, her dhak dhaks to see how much he loves her.

am writing too much.. 😲 .. word limit from now on.. 50 words..

And thank you both for liking teri meri.. my irreparable loss of not being there the first time you all did this..
