PS: It is to be noted that my exposure to an individual member or DT is very less and I am only talking about general experience I am having in the past and now. I see no particular reason to be upset of current IPK or FF DTs but there seems to have been some changes going on behind the scenes which are driving the stuff happening lately.
My 3 general concerns are written below and these are for no specific show's DTs and hope these can be forwarded by IPK DTs and addressed by applicable designations.
I see a response to most of the questions in this topic but most importantly, the overall experience a member is getting when visiting the forum now-a-days is not looking very encouraging to stay on the forum. I thought online portals such as indiaforums have to make life easier for people to get attracted to join their portals. Is it not the motto for indiaforums?
I have also seen to myself such crazy times within IPK forum where sections of people were incessantly targeting each other for their own reasons and DTs have done a nice job to a great extent possible. Now such posts or topics have subsided quite a bit and forum activity too has lessened a lot.
Similarly, I have read about a part of writers who are either biased or demand their readers to gain pages and threads. This was not seen personally by me in recent times and only a few authors left who are still passionate about ArShi and are writing only due to the motivation of their readers.
In essence, the problems which were once major problems are not really existing around IPK or ArShi fiction currently. So I'm quite surprised to see so many rules coming on the way in multiple ways which are also being rigidly followed where they should be subjectively handled.
example 1: Rules around sharing pics of celebrities which were reportedly shared on public portals. When we have an easy way to share something, reading a booklet of old and new rules only kills the interest in sharing something.
example 2: Treating FF threads as spamming. I personally have never congratulated for a thread or asked for an update. A reader like me can never motivate or encourage a writer because of the nature of my interaction. Truly speaking, a writer can only gauge how much their story is wanted by people and get drawn to write more despite their busy personal lives thru congratulatory notes or next update queries. Scraps or PMs are definitely one way but that adds more overhead in member's heads to manage their accounts while posting directly on threads bring more convenience and visibility. If the forum admistrators are concerned about technical aspects of handling the data, then IF should really upgrade itself on that front rather restricting members with not-so-needed rules.
example 3: Outside IPK and FF forum, I have noticed IF designated professionals actively participating in the episode discussions and all that. This is no wrong that every one is human and is prone to have their own opinions and likes, dislikes on a show or an actor. But knowingly or unknowingly their posts and their wording reveal their inner self and will not give credibility to people that they can address issues at IF with an unbiased approach. They can certainly enjoy watching what they like but can share their thoughts using their personal IF id. Isn't it?
Forgot to thank the TM for opening this thread. Thanks @ifsaal
