episode 181
our face in the mirror, a sort of confrontation with our inner selves. in that instant he touches her with his feelings and connects with his own self too... or so i felt. he stopped running, he leveled. once and for all.just look at that expression.
and of course music comes tumbling in just like jill. it rejoices with its pure happy notes... ting ting ting ting hey hey.
you got to love this man loving that woman.
Went back to watch the episode before getting here... i'm in major slow mo these days trying to avoid moving forward as much as possible. Anyway. It's very hard to read or write frankly after you've just seen the epi. So please to excuse typos, blurry thoughts and a crazed gaze at these pictures you should NOT have picked and posted.😆 The opening scene of dhak dhaks and realizations is sublime. He makes it so. And i've always liked her in night clothes and open hair, walking that verandah with the dupattas and saris hanging outside to add softness and color to Khushi's thoughts amidst gentle whispers of breeze. Lakshmi Nagar, btw, is a real place in dilli land about ten mins from the yamuna...the beginnings of east delhi or the " jamna paar ilaaqa" as it's commonly called...a place most perfectly cast to play buaji's home, much like most other details in this show. And i have to say it's simplicity of life and clothing suits her much more than those velvetiyas and bouffants which are about to make an overstretched appearance post marriage. I'm digressing now. Back to the opening scene. Wonderful, your thoughts on when the penny drops in life, in all things big.
it usually happens in the oddest of places, at least that's what i've found. the major realisations of our lives, the big ones, that define us, how unexpected is the way they come, and the place and moment when things hit you.👏👏
the writers' and director's instincts here are unerring. and as usual the actor raises it to the level of breathtaking.
happened to him as he bent to pick up a file... an ordinary, everyday moment, yet suddenly it took him on an extraordinary ride and landed him on another planet. the planet of khushi, with an exhale rustling up the "kh" every time, a sense of happiness in the very way the name of the lover is said. 👏👏 An extraordinary loopworthy moment from the file to the window. Simply amazing, the way he feels the heart and it's thump. You do have a heart Mr. Raizada, believe it or not. We've known it all along...
And wearing it on his sleeve, he stops talking to his bluetooth the next morning and grabs that shagun ka joda. Copycat and Nannav, NK? Get outta here dude. This is not funny. The man is looking too handsome. And that expression is to die for. He is in love. His face has changed again. The brown suit looks like a new outfit today. The face is scrubbed clean as is his demeanor. I feel fresh just watching. Like a whiff of winter jasmine flowers is in the air. Perfection... which Buaji can sense the moment she sees it. She's a rockstar... Aa gaye Nandkissore... Well spotted, you bright boisterous bua of the bitiya! He walks in, voice and face of a boy. Little Prince indeed, Indus. That look. Innocent, unaffected, disarming, pure...as he looks around the house...do i have words to express how it makes me feel? I don't. I love what you say about loving a man who loves a woman so. That's really at the heart of everything going on here, ain't it?
Seeing her doing her thing with the "halwaais", as these shaadi cooks are mostly called around these parts, is heart warming. I adore a girl who dives straight in, whatever the task. And this is homeground for Khushiji. Love how she goes about instructing in her finery...and the touch of the casual in that bun her hair is tied into. The way he looks at her. Who wouldn't fall in love with a girl like that...but the Raizada...his look speaks of love, but it's also marked with pride. That's my girl, it seems to say. My girl. My choice. My life. The scene that follows is pure gold. The exchange, the music, the look in their eyes...heartachingly beautiful...cos that moment, it is getting closer and closer and this man is about to suffer after all this loveliness of depth and feeling. Aah.
The ghobi cooking in the kadhai, the cow in close up, the truckload of pattals...delightful little touches, and i totally agree, they offset the intensity rather deftly...much needed too...cos that intercut with a dubbed Rani Sahiba and her petty prickly Patidev ain't cutting the mustard!
Loved reading. Only for your writing did i go back and watch. I can't bear the beauty otherwise knowing where this day is headed from here.
Thanks! Loved much!
