Thanks for this post 😊

What i admire about him since his last interview is the fact that his passion and honesty

to his work matter more than any fame and money. Rare type of actors we get nowadays, even

in BW.

Well, Barun Sobti never fails to impress me. 👏

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments.
I just shared this thread with some of my friends who are also Barun fans but not on IF. They were delighted to see such a warm response from fans world over.

What a wonderful post. Anyone can understand what he was going through in terms of his role, and why he wanted to leave. Its just that they choose not to.

Actors are also people. They are not a herd of cattle who will all behave in exactly the same way. The motivational factor is different for each person. So to say why did he quit when others stayed is rather silly.
I do applaud him for being honest. He has said this earlier also, being brain dead, ina shorter interview immediately after leaving. At that time too he was mocked.
This interview is wonderful in that it gives us an insight of how he works, and his approach to work.
I am thorougly impressed by him, and looks like the interviewer was as well.
Well done Barun. And all the best for your future

Completely agree; the motivational factors for each individual person (actor) is different. Just because one person can play one role well forever and the other would like to try different things and explore various opportunities available to him; it should not take away from the fact that he is an equally good performer and that he gave his best to what he did.
I wish people can understand that we do not own him and his decisions are his to make just like it was SP's decision to end the show and it was a business decision and not one based on some random calls by fans.

Absolutely brilliant and agree with every thing you said. Been watching the show lately on Star Utsav and I can totally understand what Sobti was going through. The last two tracks - Sheetal's and Miss India were so pathetic that it is difficult to even re-watch them again. Am sure that it pained him to be a part of such mockery being dished out after the brilliant one year run. He has put his heart and soul into the role and made it iconic and naturally he was disappointed with how callously the show was being treated by the makers and the channel.

Wonder how all those who bash him seem to have a selective memory about the show towards the end. It was reaching a disastrous end even if Barun did not quit. I am glad he did and it just goes to show his strength of character to stand up for something that is not going right, however difficult it may be! Take a salute MR. Sobti!!

I completely agree with you on the Sheetal n Mrs India track. I cannot imagine what the CV's were trying to prove. I know a lot of people who stopped watching the show after the remarriage, i wish i had done thst too. Atleast that way i could have avoided the dissappointment that the assisination of ASR and Khushi's characters caused me.
The other thing that stikes me is there were a million complains about how rediculous n boring the show was becoming, so it is ok for the audience to criticize n move away but it is expected that an actor stick to it forever irrespective of if he finds it challenging anymore or no..

I am hoping for the same too! A person who gave so much to the role of ASR is now even shying away to talk about it because not matter what he says, he is always misunderstood! I guess it all really boils down to ones perception too. If someone reads his interview just to find faults then I guess we can't help with their petty mindedness but honestly i have read all the the articles on him and I didn't find anything that will make me blame/hate him in anyway, in fact his interviews and articles have made me respect and admire him more~~~ I feel the ones who bash Barun are mostly people who were never his fan from the beginning but were jealous of him, therefore they are looking for every opportunity to bash him!

So, the more people bash him, the more stronger fan I become! 😎

I too live in the US, and I'm a huge fan of ASR ie: Barun.

Truly I have one thing to add here, and is that, facts and actions are what are truly imp in life, thoughts and wants are mind related...so the most thing here is that Barun stayed back till Nov...so that he could give his character it's full dues and it would be complete.

People tend to be selfish, as much wants more...that is the human mind... not realizing what a diff it can make to another...I miss IPK tremedesly but as a true fan I wish the best for Barun and look forward to see him succeed in what ever he wishes to do.

I agree; he stayed till November; even during his movie shooting he worked double shift to make an appearance on and off to keep the viewers satisfied. If only the PH better used his time with more meaningful tracks maybe everyone could have gotten better closure and the fans who are upset that so many loops were left open wouldn't feel cheated.
There would have been a number of tracks that could better utilize the potential of Barun and Sanaya and keep the actors motivated but the CV's completely lost track and focus.
I think it is time for everyone to appreciate IPK and its actors for the connect they created with the audience and wish them well for their future.

Agree with your beautiful post. It's releiving to hear him finally speak his heart out. There was a time when Arhi created blazing chemistry just through their glances and gazes. Towards the end the show was a pain to watch even with hugs and kisses thrown in. At this point I could just imagine what torture the actor must be going through. Hope this sheer bundle of talent can quench his thirst and satisfy our crave with his versatility as different roles in days to come. Thank you for gracing the forum after being a silent reader for so long.
The whole fiasco experience has been a blessing in disguise in some ways. He has learnt the ways of this messy world and matured prematurely.
